Problems importing with Sony files

I have a student with a Sony DSLR (A330) who has problems importing files to Lightroom 5.6 on our Macs. They are copied very slowly, and some don't import at all. He says he has no problems with importing files on his PC at home. When copying the files directly to an external HD (FAT32, NOT Window NT), he has the same problems adding the files to his LR catalog. Any ideas?

The mobile Behance Creative Portfolio works fine on my iOS 8 devices, except for Vimeo hosted video. To have the videos play on the desktop Behance and Prosite, I just tell Vimeo that I give permission to those sites. What do I put down as the url for the mobile app?

delete Premierre Pro 6, but keep Encore

I want to keep Encore for the occasional DVD, but I would like to delete Premiere Pro 6. If I run the uninstaller, will it remove Encore as well. Or do I just delete the various CS6 folders?

Duplicating books in Lightroom 5

I would like to make a second version of an 80 page Blurb book I built in Lightroom 5. Can I make a duplicate of the existing book (like a vritual copy, etc) so that I don't have to build the second version from scratch? The first version is an enhanced ebook with video and a lot of double truck images, and the second will be for PDFs, omitting the video pages and 2 page spreads.

Removing senor dust on video clips

Since you can edit video in Photoshop, is there a way to use the clone or healing brush tools to remove sensor dust? I have tried, but it only works on one frame.

Saving templates

I came from using Freeway, which allows you to save designs as templates that you can use again. Is there a Muse template format? How can I save the master files as templates I can use reuse?

poor playback of h.264 dslr files

After upgrading my computer (17" MacBook Pro, i7 2.5 ghz, 8 G RAM, 7200 rpm drive, 10.7.3) I am still getting choppy playback with Nikon D7000 ch.264 amera files. My undrstanding was that Premire Pro would run thee files on the latest MacBook Pros without transcoding. The files run fine with Final Cut Pro X, even with effects. I have the playback resolution set for 1/2. (It is still choppy at 1/4) Have I missed something, or is it that PP won't run these files on the surrent MBPs?

Is there any real advantage in transcoding DSLR H.264 files to a 4:2:2 via NeoScene to the Cineform 422 coddec over ProRes 422 with MPEG clipstream or Adobe Media Edcoder?

difference between Premiere image and export

When I export a sequence from Premiere Pro 5.5 to H.264 or MPEG2 the image is sloightly brighter in Quicktime than Premiere's playback. How can I get them to match? I am using a calibrated Apple monitor, running Lion. I am used to dealing with ICC profiles for stills, printer profiles, etc. It seems that with video, I may not have the same control over output. Any suggestions?

Crop tool marquee blinks

I am using PS CS5 on a Macaith snow leopard on a MacBook Pro with 4 GB ram. When I make a selection with the crop tool to crop an image the marquee blinks (flashes, pulses, etc.). I am usually running Aperture 3 and Mail behind it. Is this the way its suppode to work, a bug, or can I just not find the way to turn off the flashing?

Raw files processed in Lightroom 2, and LR Beta 3 and then opened in PS CS4 show less saturation and appear a bit flatter (could be just the lower saturation) than they do when displayed in the version of LR that processed the raw files. Tifs and Jpegs appear the same in both LR and PS. I am using OS 10.5.8 and the current versions of LR. Prophoto is selected as the working space in Photoshop color settings, relative colormetric is the rendering intent, black point compensation is selected. Shouldn't the images displayed in LR look the same as they do in PS? I am missing something?

Stops printing half way through the job

I have a student who tried to print a six image contact sheet in Lightroom 2 on a snow leopard iMac and an Epson R1800. The paper size is 13x19 (Super B) the print stops after almost finishing four of the images and ejects the paper. Any ideas on a fix? The RAW files are in a folder on the desktop.

Some imported tifs given some RAW develop settings

For a long time I have processed files in other apps and imported the tif files into Lightroom for printing, slide shows and web galleries. Today I processed a group of files in Capture One 5, adjusted them in Photoshop CS4 and saved them as tifs. When imported to lightroom 2.5 many of them are displayed with very, very high contrast and brighter than they appeared in Photoshop. Some look fine. Most have adjustment layers, but that doesn't seem to make a difference, some with layers are displayed properly while others have look awful. What is happening is that is that Lightroom is applying the same brightness and contrast settings (50 and 20 respectively) to some of the Tifs as it would to RAW files, but only those two develop settings and only to about half the files. Clicking the reset button clears up the issue. Does anyone know why this is happening? The same this occurs to the same files in LR 3, but Photoshop, Aperture and Photo Mechanic display them properly.

doesn't find nearby missing files

I have always been able to "find missing files" when moving them from one drive to another selecting find nearby files. Yesterday I could see all the files in the window when I selected one, but LR won't connect to the nearby files, only the one selected. The activity progress bar in the upper left hand side of the LR window shows that it is searching for the files, but can't find them. Any suggestions?

Color Management Problem, Suddenly Dark Prints

Using CS4, I have had no problems with color management and inkjet output until today. Using custom printer profiles, I am getting very dark prints with Photoshop. Using the same profiles and printing with Lightroom, I am getting a great monitor to print match. When I use soft proofing, everything looks fine, also if I print to Preview the screen image matches the image in PS. I am doing all the things I have before, I have color management on in color settings, choose the document profile,I have selected the proper printer profile and let PS manage color in the print dialog box. Color management is off in the print driver. In fact the print driver settings are the same for both PS and LR2. HAve I overlooked something, or is something "broken"?
