Delay audio to speed loading?

I've read in other posts that you should put a short delay on the slide audio in order to speed loading. My understanding is that if you don't do this, Captivate will download all of your audio before it starts, which can slow the loading process.

But, the posts that I've found are several years old. Is that still the case?

Captivate 7 - Published file plays in HTML5 but not in SWF

I have a project that I've published in both SWF and HTML5. I'm assuming that the browser reads which version to play. The project will play on my iPad, but not on my computer using Chrome or IE. I have published other projects with no problem. What could cause this one not to work?

Captivate 7 - Drag and Drop not exporting into HTML5

I have a drag and drop exercise that is stopping me from getting it to play in HTML5. It works fine as a SWF, but I can't even get it to open the player. It just shows a black screen. If I delete that slide, it works fine. Suggestions?

Table Widget doesn't show border in HTML5

I am using the table widget in Captivate 8. When I publish to HTML5 it doesn't always show the bottom border of the table.

It seems to work on some slides, but not to work on other slides. I can't figure out the difference. I do put a smart shape that acts as a button on top of the table widget. I tried moving it and that didn't make a difference. I'm not sure what else to try.

I'd appreciate help with this. Thanks!

HTML5 fails to execute an advanced action?

I'm having a problem with HTML5 that doesn't show up when I do preview the project normally. I have 2 variables that I'm tracking. I'm using them to generate a "meter" on the slide to give feedback to the user. When the user makes a choice on the slide, I use a Shared Action to either increment or decrement the variable. Then, I have an Advanced Action that executes a conditional action on enter that shows the correct meter and hides the incorrect meters. Then, it Pauses the slide.

Here's my problem: This works perfectly when I use the normal preview. However, it doesn't work when I preview in HTML5. I determined that if either variable is at zero or below, then the advanced action fails to execute. So, my meters fail to show correctly and the slide doesn't Pause.

Since it works in the normal preview, I assume my logic is written correctly.

Any help?

How can I combine advanced actions with the branching view?

I am creating a branching scenario in Captivate 7. It's fairly involved and I'd like to keep track of it with the branching view. But, I understand that if I use an Advanced Action, it won't show up in the view. My slides track a conversation that goes down different routes based on the selected answers. I give the user 3 smart shapes that I'm using as a button. When they press the button, I want to change two variables and then jump to another slide. If I put this all into one advanced action, I have to write an advanced action for each button and it won't show the branches.

Is there a way to execute an action that will change my variables. Then, have it jump to a slide. I've been trying to give the user 1 attempt, execute my advanced action that will change the variables, and then have the Last Attempt jump to a slide, but that doesn't seem to work.

Any other ideas?

Captivate 7 - Multiple Click Boxes not working

I would really appreciate some help on this. I've been reading the forums and it looks like this pops up again and again. I've tried some of the solutions, but I can't seem to make it work.

I have a slide with 8 click boxes on it. I would like for the user to click on box and then get a definition in the form of a text box. I'd like for them to be able to click on 1 box or all the boxes before they move on. I'd like for them to choose to move on with a "Continue" button that goes to the next slide.

On the preview playback, only 3 or 4 of the click boxes will work. Then, the click boxes stop working. It's not the same 3 or 4 boxes, but just the first ones that work. If I remove a pause on the continue button, it will work. Otherwise, it stops as well.

Initially, I tried to do this as a simple action. Then, I read that Advanced Actions will allow the playback to continue. The Advanced Action is 1 line that is Show and then the Text Box.

Below is my timeline. I'd appreciate help with this!
