3D menu greyed out in Photoshop CS6

I am running windows 7 64-bit

Photoshop CS6 extended via Creative Cloud

Graphics Card: NVIDIA Quadro NVS 420

Latest driver: version 320.00

When trying to access the 3D menu in Photoshop it is greyed-out. The only item selectable is 'Get More Content'

Any suggestions?

What version to use with windows 8.1

I have a brand new Dell XPS PC

Intel Core i7-4790 cpu @ 3.60GHz

16 GB Ram

64-bit

Windows 8.1

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti

I've tried running Premiere CC 2014, Premiere CC and Premiere CS6. None of them stay running.

Any help?

Rearranging table rows in Indesign CC

Using InDesign CC, my cursor is not changing to allow me to drag table rows or columns to a new order. What am I missing? I use the text tool, get the black arrow to select a whole column, move into that column and all I see is the insert text icon.

Object Stacking order

I want to have a photo on the left side of my page that bleeds off of the left and bottom edge. My plan is to have a different photo on each spread so this can't be a Master Page element. I would like the footer and page number (that are Master Page elements) to be on top of the photo in the stacking order.

Is this possible?

Text frame inset with rounded corners

I would like to have varing widths of inset, Top .625, Bottom, Left and Right .0625, on my text frame. Once I add a radius to the corners or a few corners the text inset is made uniform all the way around. Is this by design or am I missing something?

editing .AI files opening in CS5 instead of CS6

I have both CS5 and CS6 suite installed. When working in InDesign and needing to edit a .ai file they open up in Illustrator CS5 instead of Illustrator CS6. How can I change this default action?

Photo in frame showing outside of stroke

I have several photos in frames. An object style is applied for a 2 pt stroke (paper color) set to the inside. A sliver of the photo is showing outside of the stroke. Take a look at the attached pdf.

Any ideas on how to correct this?

Uninstall Master collection CS4

I have the Master Collection of CS4, CS5 and now portions of CS6 installed. I am running out of disk space and need to remove something. I would like to uninstall Master Collection CS4. What is the best way to do that?

reset picture rotation to 0?

I have a catalog publication with over 300 photos. The photos are rotated in the frames at various degrees, but the frame it self doesn't have rotation. I'd like to reset the rotation of the photos to zero. Is there a way to do that without needing to go into each frame?

Media export problems - CS4 v4.2.1

When choosing File/Export/Media I get a dialog box error promting to install updates. I have the most current updates of Premiere Pro and Media Encoder.

When I click ok on the dialog box it opens media encoder. But media encoder won't encode the files.

I have tried multiple Premiere projects with the same result.

I am rapidly approaching my deadline. Any suggestions?

Export Media error

I am running Premiere Pro CS4 version 4.2.1

When I do file/export/media I get a warning dialog that says "An Adobe Media Encoder update is available for this version of Premiere Pro. To download the latest update, please run the Adobe Updater from the Help menu or visit http://www.adobe.com/downloades/updates" click OK

It then goes into the media export dialog but it will not export to any format. When I run Adobe Updator it does not find any for my system.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

WYSIWYG not working on a template based page

My site has 6 main sections each based on their own template. Yesterday all pages that are attached to one of the templates started displaying incorrectly in design mode. The styles are there and it looks correct in live view mode, but I would rather work in design mode without the live view.

Did I inadvertently turn on/off a setting somewhere?

Very slow moving from Selection tool to type tool

I am experiencing very slow interaction when moving from the selection tool to the type tool. I am selecting a frame filled with text and copying it. I then double click inside a table to paste the frame inline with text.

It takes around 10 seconds for InDesign to switch between tools and while it does the Control Panel goes blank.

This is only happening on one file. I have exported that file out to a .idml file and then reopened it and saved it as a .indd file and I still get this sluggish behavior.

Has anyone seen this before?

Any solutions?

corrupt/damaged file

default print setting to range

Is it possible to set the default print setting to range instead of all? I am working on a 140 page document, but I only want to print a page or two at a time. Say I print page 6 only. The next time I go into the print dialog the "Pages" is set to All. If I need a reprint of the same page I would like to press ctrl+p then enter. Currently if I did that it will print the whole document.

Any suggestions?

Gradient fill in a table row?

I would like to fill a table row from the top down. I would like the color to go from "paper" to a solid color. I can get linear gradient from side to side, but not from the top down. Is it possible to do that?

Smart objects from PS CS5 being edited in AI CS4

I have both the CS4 and CS5 creative suits loaded on my machine.

Just recently when I edit smart objects in Photoshop CS5 it launches Illustrator CS4 to edit the objects. I am also seeing this in InDesign where it will choose AI CS4 when I select edit original.

Is there a way to change the default to use CS5 products?

Placed Illustrator graphics have larger frame than graphic size

I am creating artwork in Illustrator to place in InDesign. I have created separate layers for each element and then I use InDesign’s object layer options to select which layer is visible.

The graphic in Illustrator is 1.2175 in wide by .161 in tall. Upon placing into InDesign, the frame is 1.2869 in wide by .2413 inches tall.

When placing I am using the “Crop To”: Bounding Box (Visible Layers Only)

Why are there margins around the artwork? I would like the InDesign frame to fit tight to art.

recording being echoed

I am attempting to record audio from a flash file into Soundbooth. I am using an audio cable to go from my PC headphone jack to the line-in jack. I am able to record, but the recording is echoed. I don't have any effects applied. Any suggestions?

installing beta 2 on Windows 7

I have been unable to install Flash Catalyst Beta 2 on a Windows 7 machine.

It approves the serial number

I select install all components

then I get an error "Your installation encountered errors" Please try restarting your system.

Restarting hasn't helped.

I am creating a product video slide show (300 + products) and I would like to have the name appear on the screen. Each photo is named and I am wondering if it is possible to script the title generator to create a title for each photo.

Batch resize photos to a given width?

I have several photos that I would like to scale proportionally to a given width. When trying to batch resize them it says I need a width and a height. Can I do it with just width set to 1280 pixels and the heigh adjust acordingly to keep the original proportion?

Data merge - multiple records per document

I am trying to do a data merge to have 4 addresses per page. I have my main page setup with the merge fields. When I select create merged document, the "records per Document Page" drop down is greyed out. I cannot select multiple records.

script to add anchor points to frame?

I have many photo frames (square and rectangular) that I need to add a curved anchor point and the middle of each side. I use these curved points to warp the frame and give it a little dimension.

Is it possible to add the points with a script?

Rotated text in a cell

I have my cell rows set to be at least .41 tall. Text will wrap and the rows will expand as needed.

I have a few cells in the table where the text needs to be rotated. Once rotated the row height does not expand. Is this working as it should or am I missing something?

Linking to excel tables on multiple tabs/worksheets

I have an excel workbook with 40 worksheets in it. Each worksheet contains a different table. Bringing the tables into indesign (linked to excel) is no problem.

My problem occurs when I change any worksheet in Excel all of the tabels in Indesign show the changed file icon in the links panel. When I update the links all of the tables get changed even though I had only changed 1 table in Excel. Has anyone seen this before? Any work arounds?

table breaking across pages

I have a table that flows to 4 pages through threaded frames. Is the only way to make the table different lengths on each page is to adjust the frame height? Or can you insert multiple break characters throughout the table to have it break where you want it?

Left hand page Master Page items not exporting to PDF

I have a 36 page catalog + cover ready to be output. This is my first major InDesign project and I am having some issues.

My catalog will print correctly, however when exporting to PDF, any items on the left hand master page (header/footer) will not export.

PDF export Warning

I am getting a warning that reads

"The PDF document contained image masks that were not downsampled."

My PDF file sizes are quite large no matter what settings I use. Why would I be getting this error and how could I change my document to help reduce the size?

Captions in InDesign?

I came to InDesign after using Corel Ventura for 10 years. Ventura allows you to add a caption frame to each frame and it can be added to the top, bottom, left or right of the frame. I really only need a bottom caption area. Does InDesign have anything similar?

Editing original and Object Layer options

I have an illustrator file with several layers. Each layer contains a map with area of adaptability for corn hybrids. When I attempt to edit the original from InDesign all of the frames with this graphic update when I return to InDesign. Is it not possible to edit the graphic without it changing all instances of where it is used?

Illustrator file not filling InDesign frame

I have a Table of Contents graphic created for a news letter in Illustrator. The graphic is 1.2624" wide. In InDesign, I set up a frame the same width and no matter what fitting opitons I try, the graphic will not fill the frame.

If I chose fit frame to content, there is a .04165" gap around my graphic. Is there a way to have the graphic drawn to size in Illustrator and then completely fill a frame the same size in Indesign?
