install cf9 32bits on Win 7 64bits

Is this possible ?

Installation of CF9 32 bits on Win7 64bits ?

I did it, with CGI and ISAPI for IIS7.

IIS 7 is OK, (http://127.0.0.1 is correct)

After CF9 install, I ran the WebServer ConfigurationTool

http://127.0.0.1 gives an error 500 :

then I uninstall C F9 , now I have a 404.2 error

I looked in install recommandation on the web (google).

I think I did the right way.

Then I am wondering if this is a question of 32bits and 64 bits ?

(I have an other PC with CF9 32bits on Win7 32bits, it is OK

and a CF9 64bits on Windows serveur 2008 64bits, it is OK)

resend undelivered mail

After a mail server problem,

I have many undelivered mail in the Coldfsuion Mail "undelivr" directory.

The Mail server is up again

Is there a possibility to resend all these mails ?

I tried a copy/paste of mails into the "spool" directory

but these mail are resent into the "undelivr" directory

and new mails are sent correctly.

How to read an Excel file ".xlsx" of 420 000 lines ?

I used cfspreadsheet but,

over 4000 lines it fails, saying nothing.

I tried the CFC (custom tag) : POIutility.cfc from Ben Nadel.

but it seems it does not work with xlsx,

does work fine with ".xls" , I can read 65 000 lines

because ".xls" it limited to 65 000 lines.

so I have no solution to read 400 000 :lines.

Reading lines in a text file,

Listing a text file , with value between ;

sometime , there is no data between 2 ; which I need to know.

In that case, (when there is no value between the delimiter) my array have a different length (smaller)

Then the data order is not good.

As I want to save in a DataBase, I do not know what data in what field number ?

I wrote a process in Coldfusion treating more than 2000 Excel lines
- conversion to Access DB (using cfspeadsheet)
- deleting bad lines (cfloop)
- deleting again bad lines against an other DB (cfloop)
- then extracting suspect lines to transfer them a a new table (cfloop)
- then building a new table with the remaining good lines. (cfloop)

I built this on a local machine : Windows 7 (32bits) with CF9.0.2
It does work perfectly in 16 minutes.

I said to my client, I does work.

Then I upload this to my server : Windows 2008 server and CF 9.0.0 (64bits)
And then a lot of problems :
- cfspeadsheet does not work the same :
it does nor recognize "excludehearrrow" ,
it add double quotes in some fields.
I modify my programs to get a solution to these.
- the CFflush does not work the same, it does not display data after the 1st loop.
- The process time is much more monger on the server (for a limited rows, 800)
- When running with all rows, it never ends on the server (no error message)
Then a page (page cannot be displayed), access DB remain with a lock.
I have to stop/start the CF server to unloak.

Very desapointed. I will have to say to the client, IMPOSSIBLE.
Or set up a PC at your home.
Why working perfectly on the local environnement ?

Any suggestion, help will be welcome.

I used CFspreadsheet with excludeheaderrow

No problem

on the server it is CF 9.0.0

and with same files , it does not accept : excludeheaderrow

So how to exclude the first line from an Excel file to read. (column headers).

Unsupported Image Type

I have exactly the problepm described on this URL :

I work with CF9.0 on windows 2008 , all 64bits.

With that image I have this error :

"An exception occurred while trying to read the image. Unsupported Image Type"

I cannot attach that image, it is a bit more than 4Mo, this is just the size the customer

used it, they do not care of size.

But the problem is well described in that URL above.

In the URL above, I do not see any recommandation on what to do to solve this problem.

Access denied on a datasource

A big problem, I cannot anymore use my new CF datasource.

I use to declare CF datasource on a C F9 64bits , Windows serveur 2008 64bits environment.

I have around 80 datasources declared (Access mdb files).

I use the same procedure to create my datasource.

create the ODBC32 datasource.

Then create the CF datasource linked to the created ODBC datasource.

As I always do.

When I verify the datasource in the CF admin, it says OK. all seems good

And when I do a query to that datasource,

I have this message :

Security: The requested template has been denied access to allergan_prof_sante.
The following is the internal exception message: access denied (coldfusion.sql.DataSourcePermission allergan_prof_sante)

I tried to create an other datasource.

Same behaviour. OK in the CF admin.

And "access denied" when doing a query.

So now, any datasource created cannot be accessed.

I did not change anything on the Windows server

The only change, is my client PC which ftp the mdb file.

It was Vista, and is now windows 7.

Any urgent help is welcome. I cannot anymore use new datasource.

All old datasource are working correctly.

I looked at the mdb files properties, old and new , they have the same.

cfquery select 400000 records

Under windows XP, and Coldfusion 8,

I have problem to select all the Access database records, more than 400 000 records.

The Access file is of around 200 Mbytes.

I get a Java message, out of memory

The PC has only 1Go of RAM memory,

If I upgrade the memory to 2Go, does this should help ?

I try to set up a datasource to SQL server 2008 Express.

And I get always that message :

The requested instance is either invalid or not running.

I spent a full day looking at all forums threads, I have learn a lot,

Looking through all Google return on that subject, but it still not working.

I ask for help to solve this situation.

Here is my situation :

- Windows server 2008 R2 - CF9.0 - SQL server Express 2008

- Working through TSE (terminal server)

- on SQL server , I can acces the management studio, connect, create DB, anything

- I can Stop/Restart the SQL server service throuh the SQLconfig manager

- I have enable TCP/IP in SQLserver for 2 IPs : 127.0.0.1 and the server externel IP on which I connect through TSE, both on port 1433

- SQL server Express 2008 is installed on Hard Disk D: (not on C:) (C is small for diskspace)

- The SQL server Instance showed in SQL management Studio is : LARDE\SQLEXPRESS

- Authentification in SQL server : SQL server and Windows

- the CF datasource is declared as follow :

Driver : Microsoft SQL server

datasource name : any

database : the accesible SQL database name where i created a new table

server : LARDE\SQLEXPRESS port : 1433

no login

And I get this error in CF admin datasource : The requested instance is either invalid or not running

- I tried also with a new connection on SQLserver (username/password),
add it in the datasource declaration (user login)

same error.

It seems to me that it is a question of Coldfusion access to that instance of SQLserver

I have the same config at home on local, all is working fine. (difference is TSE)

CFPDF Thumbnail Quality

First time I tried this tag CFPDF to create images of each pages.

But, the quality result is fully unacceptable. Bad images, and text unreadable.

Loosing time. Why creating such tags ?

I am using CF v9.

Is there progress in next version ?

or is there someting which can be done to get the Quality ?

Also the scale at 100, is very small compared to original PDF.

it seems it does 50% at 100 scale ?

I am a ColdFusion user since version 3 (building web site with cfml).

I do not know anything about the ColdFusion product itself.

I am now wondering why new tags needs to access CFIDE directory

which is the CF administrator directory ?

I feel that engine and administration have been mixed up in same directory.

Is there a reason ?

I think about last CF vulnerability and hacking, afraid this mixup grows the vulnerability ?

My question may be totally out, as I do not know about CF product architecture.

I used the cftextarea to get the FCK editor, like :

Element TXT_H_1 is undefined in FORM

All other FORM elements are well returned.

then how to get the value of the cftextarea ?

(I used a CFFORM with <input> inside instead of <cfinput>)

No access to CF administrator after installation

CF9 has been installed on Windows server 2008.

Successfull.

I can see CF9 files on disk C:\ColdFusion9

I have the CFIDE structure installed on disk D:\wwwroot\CFIDE

And when launching :

http://127.0.0.1/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm

can't find the file

I tried the Sever IP adress :

http://85.14.138.81/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm

same, can't find the file.

Can someone help/explain where could be the problem ?

It seems to be a problem of IP pointing ?

Under development server, CFGRID show data , all is fine , correct. (CF9.0 version dev)

Under production server , CFGRID does not show data, only a grey line (like a HR).

I did a WEBMAIL using CFPOP.

I want now to use CFIMAP,

but when checking date (sentdate), I have a problem :

I use function isDate(sentdate), it is OK, pass

I then I use ParseDateTime with POP attribute

I get an error :

{ts '2011-12-09 14:03:53'} is not a valid date format

How to get a valid date with this ?

It did work with CFPOP and variable "date"

From Homesite to Cfbuilder

I am using Homesite for many years,

I would like to switch to CFbuilder,

but it does not seem so easy ,

My main problem, is that I used to work from my local sites directories

and not from a working space or projects.

So I would like to retrieve in CFbuilder a simple acces to my local websites

in my wwwroot server, and call files from this space.

Should I have to declare a project for each website, which is a simple directory in the wwwroot ?

And so, how.

I just discover the role of application.cfc

seems very interesting.

All my applications are using an application.cfm template.

I have seen in the doc the migration from application.cfm to application.cfc,

but I do not understand.

Is the application.cfc running instead of application.cfm ?

With the application.cfc , I have a blank page, no error messages, I do not know what to do.

why it does not go to the index.cfm as it did with application.cfm

If I take all the content of my current application.cfm

Convert â€™ to an apostrophe

From an XML , the curly apostrophe is rendered as : â€™, and displayed as ? (unknown)

because my server and Cf are in ISO--8859-1.

As this is an included file,

I cannot use the tags :

I only needs it for a small piece of text dipslayed. Not the whole page.

I searched for hours, I did not find any solution to convert the â€™ to a single apostrophe.

I tried :

I tried :

CFpop and Time Zone

Sorting by date the mail coming from CFpop, (via a query of query)

The displayed dateTime is the sender dateTime (from sending location).

How to get the arrival location dateTime ?

The variable "date" of cfpop contains the sender dateTime.

So the order is false because of the Time zone which is different.

I wrote a webmail using the CFPOP tag of CF.

And it seems to me very slow.

I do not know why it is so slow to retrieve mails.

When having heavy attachments, if I use the action "gethearderonly" or "getall"

it takes the same time, and very long.

seems that attchments are loaded also with "getheaderonly", but I cannot see them in the attached folder.

They come to attached folder when using "getall".

Why, so slow,

may be webmail are depending of factors which I do not know ?

(linked to the Mail server or ....)

The webmail "roundcube" at the host, retrieve mails instantatly (almost).

I use this line of CF code to set new cookies :

And i cannot see my cookie in FireFox , or readding it with Javascript,

or using CF read with : <cfparam name="cookie.PLARTS_MAIL_USERNAME" type="string" default="" />

It always return "blanc" , not existing.

(I can see other cookies from other Sites).

Images in Emails , using CID

I found Email with images using CID: codes.

example : cid:image001.png@01CCA61F.1FB8E630

In this case, if I do a cfdump of "cids"

I get the key pair values in a collection (structure).

The image file is transfered (loaded) and I can replace the CID by the image file adress.

The adress is ; src="cid:image001.png@01CCA61F.1FB8E630"

So I can replace the src value by the uploaded adress (with the image name : image001.png)

And sometimes, the CID code is as : cid:part1.00020509.06000501@imagescreations.fr

In that case the image file is not transfered. (not loaded)

How to get the adress of this CID code ?

I am doing a WebMail, abd with that case, I cannot display the image in the body.

the adress is : src="cid:part1.00020509.06000501@imagescreations.fr"

except that when I send from my OutLook,

the FROM variable content is a name (my name)
not an Email adress.
I need the Email adress like : xxxx@xxxx.xx
which is the unic identifier

I am under CF 7 (or CF 8)

How to get the Email adress in the "from" variable of the CFPOP ?

I use CFPOP too read mails,

And I want to do different processing following the email adress found in the

FROM variable.

But, depending of the Mail agent sending mails,

The FROM variable contains different types of values :

1 - can be the Email (alone)

2 - can be the name of the person, without any email

3 - can be the name of the person followed by the email

4 - can be the name of the person followed by an email of the mail server.

As I need to find the Email of the sender, only in cases 1 and 3 can give me the right email.

Can someone explain this ?

I do not see anything in CF to solve this, even in programming or in the CF administrator.

I have the impression that , what is retruned in the "FROM" depends of the mail server ?

Inserting a captcha decoding,

I keep the captcha value in session variable for comparison after submit.

After submit :

under IE , no problem, the session variable is never changed.

Under other navigator (chrome, firefox) sometimes the session.variable has changed.

I looked deeply in the code, the session variable cannot be modified by the code in that process.

CF9 install on Windows server 2008 error

I am getting the following error message when attempting to run the installer for CF9:

this is Windows Server 2008 R2 brand new.

Then I installed the :

When I read Email with CFPOP,

ok, no problem.

To answer the mail, i put a form with a hidden field containing the incoming Mail body (to resend)

Sometimes, depending of incoming mails,

the hidden field display unwanted caracters (caracters contained at end of the body of original mail)

How to get reed of this ?

That should be a known problem ?

CF8 and ACCESS 2007 and cfoutput

I installed the required ODBC driver for Access 2007 on CF8. Fine.

I declare a new DATASOURCE if CF (socket ODBC) fine

I write a CF file with a simple query (select) , the cfouput

Almost fine,

except that : the displayed data is encountered by the # (like the called variable)

Here the code :

here is the Display : (a single record in the base)

which is the data in the Access (.accdb file) DB

How to get reed of the 2 x # ???

I have

a CF file working under Windows with 2 queries (on Access database) :

1 - is a classical Insert

2 - is a select max ID of last insert

This always worked under Windows platform.

My Host changed the platform to UNIX :

Now : I have a bug on the 2nd query (select max ID)

message is : You are trying to access a closed table

I put a cfabort after the 1st Query : no error

but the record is not inserted.

Then it seems that at 2nd query the table is not free up.

The 1st query code is :

     insert into article
     (m_option,titre,contenu,ordre,art_date,file_tele,album_ph,auteur)

2nd query is :

Very simple.

And I repeat, this only under UNIX.

cfimage resize and keep ratio

I use CF8,

Using CFIMAGE for resize, ask for height and width,

I only want to give width , then height should keep the same ratio.

But it wants an height value.

So this means I have to calculate the final height relative to the given width ?

Is there a way to give the width or the height and that tag keep the ration for the other value ?

How to run a CFM program without openning a new window ?

Today , if I want to run a CFM program which have no display for the user,

I must open a new window to run the CFM program inside et close it at end.

Since last version of IE and other navigators, this window cannot be outside the screen completly,

then the user see a blank window which appear and desappear rapidly.

This is not nice.

Is there a way to run a CFM program without openning a new window ?

ColdFusion V8 and JavaRunTime version ?

I had ColdFusion V7 installed, working well,

I could declare new Datasources and browse directories through

the Java Applet.

Now , after ColdFusion V8 installed,

I cannot browse anymore directories to select my MDB files

for an access datasource.

I have the error message : Server Error , IO error on server communication.

Is this a problem with JRE environment/version ?

I have installed the lastest version : Java(TM) 6 update 24

Ans I still have the same error (even after rebooting)

I am on Windows XP pro.

Thanks for an urgent help.

No information found about JRE and Coldfusion found on Adobe website.

Or is it an other problem than JRE compatibility with CF ?

cferror and error.diagnostics

I use the CFerror to catch the error by mail and show a nice screen.

I have sometimes an error on a Query (which is with a lot of variables in it)

But in the mail I receive, I use the #error.diagnostics#,

and it does not show me the entire query which has executed at the error.

If I do not use the CFerror , I can see the error, and it gives the full query executed,

which is good to debug.

As this error is in very few times, even if I do it manually, I do not have these errors.

So how to show the full query used in the mail sent by the CFerror ?

Paste an image in a CFmail

When using

a Mail user Agent (Outlook for example), we can paste an image inside the body of the mail,

which is great to show something to someone else rapidly.

Is there a way for doing the same thing using CFmail,

I know the cfmail boby will take the content of a textarea or an HTML online editor, from a form,

and we cannot paste an image in these 2 cases.

So how to make a webmail with CF as powerfull as another mail agent ?

to rapidly paste an image in the body ?

If I save my image in local, then I upload to the server, then I can reference to it,

but this is too long and too heavy.
