CF10 Solr Search RHEL

Hi,

I've been able to get my CF10 server up and running (thanks Rupesh!) and am trying to do some configuration.

I installed the Solr search service during the installation but when I go to the collections screen in the CF Administrator it says "Unable to retrieve collections from the Search Services. Ensure that you have installed ColdFusion Search Service and it is running."

now checking for the process shows it's running

[root@LMCFXD02 /]# ps -ef | grep solr
root 15563 1987 0 11:33 pts/0 00:00:00 grep solr

Can anybody shed some light on why I can't create a new collection?

ColdFusion 10 - install admin components

Hi,

I was just wondering if there were instructions around on how to install admin components for remote start & stop after installation of CF 10 has been completed?

I'm looking to update some development servers for use with ColdFusion Builder, but I can't find any information on how to install the component on linux after the fact.

I've searched through the installation guide, but haven't come up with anything.

Strange Scheduled Task (Quartz) behaviour CF10

Hi,

I'm running ColdFusion 10 Enterprise on a RHEL 6 server and have come across an intersting behaviour in relation to the scheduled tasks we have setup.

We noticed that after a reboot of our ColdFusion server that the scheduled tasks weren't running correctly.

When I looked in the http.log file I could see that it was trying to execute the correct template

"Information","DefaultQuartzScheduler_Worker-9","10/25/13","07:18:16",,"Starting HTTP request {URL='...', method='get'}"

But the request never appears to be completed. When a task successfully runs you would expect to see a completed line as well in the http.log file

"Information","DefaultQuartzScheduler_Worker-9","10/25/13","07:18:21",,"HTTP request completed {Status Code=200 ,Time taken=4896 ms}"

For some reason after the server reboot the task is triggered, but it never runs and never shows as being complete.

I was playing changing settings in the scheduled task and checked the Save output to a file check box. As soon as I did that and put in a valid path the scheduled task started to run and complete. If I uncheck output to a file the task will continue to run until the ColdFusion server is restarted. As soon as the server restarts it reverts back to not running. However if I leave the output to a file option checked and restart the CF server the task runs and completes as expected!

One other thing I noticed was that the catalina task (check for update/hotfix) would execute and return while the other tasks (quartz) wouldn't.

Has anyone seen anything similar or have any suggestions? For now i'll just make sure my tasks all output to a file, but if there was a way to fix it I would much prefer to do that.

CF10 update 9 - RHEL6

Hi folks,

I posted a comment on the coldfusion blog but didn't get any bites, so I thought I would try here.

I have just applied hotfix 009 to my development server and have noticed that the owner of /opt/coldfusion10 and all files and subdirectories have been changed to bin.

I had previously gone through the lockdown guide so the group had been webservices. I have an account with ssh access on the box with so I can read/tail log files and look at at config files if needed.

I'm wondering if I should go through the post installation instructions of the lockdown guide and change the permissions back to cfusion:webservices? What do you guys think?

Clear Template Cache Now button in CF10 admin

Hi folks,

I'm running CF10 on RHEL6.1 and I was just wondering if the "Clear Template Cache Now" button is supposed to delete cached class files that are created if you have the "Save class files" checkbox checked?

I was looking in my servers /WEB-INF/cfclasses directory and after clicking the button the files were still all there.

I had a very frustrating problem where ColdFusion managed to cache the template as a file not found error, and despite clicking all clear buttons and restarting CF the error would still be displayed every time I tried to browse the template. In the end the only thing I could do was ssh into my server and manually delete the class files. Once it cached the file this worked as expected.

CFBuilder, CF10 (multihoming) and admin services

Hi folks,

I am setting up a development server with 2 instances of coldfusion running (cfusion + instance0)

I was wondering if anyone has been able to get the admin services working when cf instances are set up in a multihoming arrangement?

I have looked through the CFBuilder documentation and it seems to be skewed towards CF9 and Jrun. I am able to add the servers in CFBuilder and have it correctly report the current status, but if I try to stop, start or restart a server from CFBuilder nothing happens.

I initially tried to get it working with just the default cfusion instance and when I tried to stop, start or restart I would get an error in the cfbuilder server console

Error(11/21 at 03:06:01) Cannot perform the operation. Admin server for the remote server 192.168.0.10 is not running.

After looking around the web (I can't remember who posted the info, but thanks!) I found that I needed to comment out the host node in the {CFHome}/cfusion/jetty/etc/jetty.xml file.

After that I created a second ColdFusion instance and then added it to the servers view in CFBuilder neither of my servers can be stopped, started or restarted via the IDE.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

ColdFusion Builder won't hold serial number

Hi,

I just tried to install ColdFusion Builder 2.0.1 (run as administrator) and after successfully completing the install the following message is displayed.

"Adobe Application Manager, required to start your trial, is missing or damaged.

Please download a new copy of Adobe Application Manager from

http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager."

There were no warnings or errors in the install log

Installation: Successful.

I downloaded the application manager and installed it. After running ColdFusion Builder the serial/trial window popped up. I entered the serial number and all looked to have worked. However I have restarted ColdFusion builder and it now says "ColdFusion builder is in express mode.." when I try to access something like tailview or add a SFTP site.

Can anybody help?

CF10 Server Manager with multiple instances

Hi,

I'm having some problems connecting to the ColdFusion instances I have setup on RHEL6.1 64bit with CF10.

If I just add a single server that points to the default cfusion instance

host: 192.168.0.10

port: 8500

the Server Manager connects and I can view the settings.

If I then add a second server that points to a newly crated instanct

host: 192.168.0.10

port: 8501

The ability of Server Manager to connect to either instance becomes poor at best. I can't do a settings diff if they do both happen to connect.

Do I need to enable anything specific in each instance's admin?

Version/Build number hasn't incremented after updates

Hi,

I've deployed another ColdFusion 10 RHEL6 server and due to some firewall issues it isn't able to connect to the update center to grab the hotfixes.

So I copied the jar files from another server that I was able to update successfully and ran all the updates manually.

Now when I log into the CF administrator the build/version number has not gone up to what I expect. Does anyone have any ideas?

The installation log had one nonFatalError, but I got the same on the existing server

ColdFusion 10 update 2 hung

Hi,

I'm running CF10 on RHEL6.1. Last week I was able to install the CF10 update 1 hotfix via the CF Administrator update section.

This morning I tried to install the CF10 update 2 hotfix via the CF Administrator updates section and when I clicked the install button and confirmed the installation nothing happened.

Based on what I read here it is because the CF server couldn't be stopped so the install process froze.

Is there a way to diagnose what is stopping the CF server from stopping? Is there a log file somewhere that might give me a clue?

I am able to stop the CF instance using the administrator so I was somewhat baffled as to why the installer couldn't do it.

I was able to kill the install process, shutdown the CF server and the run the update manually, but I would like to sort things out so I can do it via the administrator if possible.
