Premiere CC Media pending

I just checked on the Adobe site and this problem seemed to have been a real issue until last year. With an increasing growth of files within Premiere it seems to be unable to connect to them. I get that now getting the message: media pending. All files have been loaded and I can hear the sound, but even in the preview you can not see any pictures/videos. I have got over 100 files connected, including 3 camera views in HD plus some clips and scans (some files are 600 dpi though as I need them quite big to zoom into those A4 pages, like indidual (musical) notes from a score. I always mirror my files as so many times the premiere file has become corrupted and was not being able to be opened again.

But no matter which file (or copy) I open at the moment it won't give me anything but sound.

I have got 11 GB RAM reserved for Premiere so that should be enough ... and on the scratch disc I got 460 GB left (within a 2 TB harddrive), but maybe I will need more Crucial CT256M4SSD2BAA 256GB M4 SATA III 6Gb/s MLC 9.5mm 2.5 Inch Internal SSD for RAM for Adobe to get it sorted. Currently Windows 7 ultimate runs on such a solid state drive but perhaps I will have to install another one just for RAM like I mentioned to cope with the work.

Actually sometimes when I shut down Premiere now and try to restart it ... hoping that the files will be properly displayed, Premiere does not start at all. I really don't know if that is a bug again or maybe the bug that was mentioned to be fixed last year was not fixed completely.

Another side effect seems to be that some files (sound as well as pictures, get corrupted being imported into premiere. So pictures all of a sudden get faulty lines or sound crashes that have not been there before. Then I copy them from a backup folder and they load fine.

So I really don't know what Premiere (import) sometimes does to files.

But at the moment it worries me most that the video and picture files are not being displayed so I can't do nothing at the moment, as I have to animate music score on music (showing the notes when I can hear them or the explanations for them).

Hope somebody can help as I am through all these very upsetting problems several days behind schedule.

Asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 Motherboard (Socket 1155, ATX, DDR3, USB 3.0, HDMI, Bluetooth Module)

PNY nVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 Graphics 1536MB PCI-E DVI-I Dual Link/Mini HDMI

Intel Core i7-2600 Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor

can not remember, which harddrive I work on

have several installed but I baught this one at the time I was putting all items together

Seagate Barracuda 3.5 inch 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB 6GB/S Internal SATA Drive

Is there a limit to media import in premiere?

This question come in connection with media pending which is another (unsolved) problem that I have with Premiere for 2 weetks now and nobody seems to know a solution.

I have the trouble with media pending for 2 weeks now. All the files are fine (in the windows explorer) no matter what Pc i use. ´To check if the premiere timeline got corrupted I transfered the whole folder to another pc, which has less memory though. I had to relink all files again and that all went fine ... until all of a sudden a simply picture would not load (remained grey). And then all other (films that I checked) became pending all of a sudden.

Also Premiere could not be closed again .... only through the Task Manager.

I started from scratch again, started relinking (or rather changing the link - and we are talkin a different pc, all connected data has been copied to another pc and like I said, all files are absolutely fine) and this time i imported the file that would not be able to relink and that worked fine. Did the same with the videofile the I had to relink before that in the order of appearance and which was fine ... but now that failed.

The reason why I am thinking about a RAM-problem is that there are so many more files originally linked (about 200, several films AVCHD and mpg4 ones plus audio and jpgs and TIFs) which had no problems at all until I worked on another TIF and that became all of a sudden pending when I was animating it but the file was absolute fine by itself. So that is why I am thinking about a RAM problem, but normally there is plenty of space on the harddrive for working it all.

Tomorrow I will have a chat with my pc-dealer as one of those guys doing Premiere in the cloud as well. I don't trust Adobe anymore, especially as the guy I was talking to last time just disconnected my since he could not find any solution and kept pretending that the Premiere-file must have been corrupt and that the files were missing and even though I showed him that the files were fine he just ignored that.

So at the moment I am not very amused since I thought that Premiere would be a professional system but at the moment nobody seems to care if it works or not ... or the programmers are not aware of problems or can't cope with anything. There must be a reason for all this mess.

In fact I had the idea in advertising videoedition as another business but at the moment I could not trust being reliable and there is no point really.

So I wonder if there is any solution to this before I hand this pc over to my dealer tomorrow probably.

Imported videofiles in Premiere without sound? Strange update or fault?

Did I miss something "new". Today I found out no matter what I do - if I export a sequence from the timeline and have it imported into the project it only imports the film but without any sound. With some codec I can play the clip as it should be in the windows 7 ultimate explorer but I sometimes also get automatically a HD-file and the sound files as wav as a separte thing. I never had that before. In fact what I want to do is to create a sequence from my timeline and have that as a separat HD-file to use whereever in the project. Especially if the sound is not the original one but added by myself. I have done that before and I would just get my HD-file and could play it in the preview WITH sound. Now all I get is the picture but .... like I said: without sound. That is not normal. So is that a rather useless update or a failure in the programme?

And how can I copy a sequence from a timeline and place it anywhere else on the timeline. Used to be so easy in a previous premiere version. Now copy and paste does not work at all anymore. And whenever I want to add a clip onto a layer, I have to shut all used layers, because otherwise the sound goes anywhere but where it should and might just place itself within another sound-layer.

Used to be all much better and simpler in previous editions.

Sound problems in Adobe premiere cc

First I thought the files were faulty (mostly wav-files as I use seperate microfones for the final sound, not the camera sound), but in Audition the files are just fine. It is only in Premiere where I get those disturbences. Is there anybody there who knows about this and knows a solution. I experienced this in the last two projects which are still to be finished and it is really just holding up the production flow. Unfortunalely I can not attach any soundfile here to let you know exactly what I mean but it's just a terrible noise for only a second or so but I wonder if the original file is brillant what happens when premiere imports this. I never had these problems before. Any false programming in Premiere updates?

Submix into 5.1

I got a problem and could not find any answer yet. I got a project in Premiere CC with 3 camera-views and several aditional sound-tracks. I started off in stereo (as all of them are in stereo) and now I am reediting it into 5.1. The current situation is that I set the used soundlines into 5.1 via submixes and i set the dot where the sound should go. On the timeline itself all ups und downs and effects are defined.

But setting the stereo-sound-layers as a submix I got additional submix-layers in 4.1 underneath the original audiolayers (still in stereo defined) but those submix layers are empty and the master layer only shows stereo.

In the audio preferences I set the default audio tracks all tp 5.1 and Mixdown to Front and rear as the LFE wont probably have any effect for tv-users only anyways. I just wonder if this is what it needs to get 5.1 surround sound when I will export it to make both Bluray AND DVD (will be a 3-disc-set containing 1xbluray, 1xDVD and 1 DVD-ROM with all necessary files for mobile media) since I can not define the master as 5.1 and like I said, the submixes are empty on the timeline.

I followed the advise to creat a new sequence and copied the all the timeline into the empty timeline there, but it did not only sound terrible but also the picture was in 4:3 only not in 16.9

Also checked what would happen to export everything into Audition but that seemed to be no different than the tools I had in Premiere and I did not find the option to show the picture .... but I was in a hurry so maybe it was just me.

But hopefully somebody can give me some advice how to proceed from Premiere CC onwards where everything sounds and looks fine now. Thanks in advance.

Ronnie

But I could not open the file again because some unknown error orrured. i can not go back to the previous one as Premiere apparently did not leave any backup file for some reason. I still have another version of it, but of course work from the last week is all gone including a lot of refinement and one of the cameras is still not in sync.
