Help, having trouble actioning symbol to play in edge animate?

Sorry this is probably a very basic question and even so I'm having trouble getting a symbol to play when I click on some text. I have a 'Location Map' link which essentially acts as a button to open up a location map of the business. The location map is a symbol as I want it to fade in when the button is pressed and fade out when I close it. I have managed to get this type of function to work when I had the location map placed on the main timeline and used a label to do this, but now I would like to have the map as a symbol.

So on the 'location map' link/button the action reads:

sym.getSymbol("location").play("in");

The "in" refers to a label within the symbol timeline. I have also tried to remove the label and simply have:

sym.getSymbol("location").play();

These are instructions I have followed from a number of tutorials, however I must be missing something because neither of these codes do anything when I click on the link.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Here is a link to the file:

Shared Files - Acrobat.com

adobe edge animate an error occurred please save your work after 2014.1 upgrade. Is it worth it?

Can I import an After Effects file into Edge Animate??

Is this possible??

The reason I would want to do this is that there is a a butterfly animation availble for purchase which has been created in After Effects (very realistic and that's why I like it) which I would like to incorporate into my website which is being designed in Edge Animate.

Cheers.

Importing Flash content into Edge Animate?

Hi Everyone,

I have just started a new site using Edge Animate which I'm completely new to. The website is a collaboration between my brother and myself, he has been working on some Flash animations for the site and I'll be working on the website design. After reading recently about the move to HTML5 I decided to try Edge Animate to move with the times, however the Flash animations were started a while back and it would be too much work to try and re-create them in another program.

Is there a way to import an existing Flash animation into Edge Animate? Or a specific format to export out of Flash for it to work in Edge?

I have heard of a Flash to HTML5 converter but wouldn't know how to insert the converted file into Edge, or if it's at all possible.

Thanks in advance
