cflocation and IE 11

We recently upgraded to IE 11 as our browser at work and I noticed today that any document that has a cflocation is having problems. On the first try, the cflocation code is ignore. Subsequent attempts show the browser 'working' but not doing anything.

While I could put our site in the compatibility list, it means that any of all of our users would have to do the same. Is there a workaround?

As an example, this is one page of our site:

I have breadcrumbs at the top of the page. If you click on one of the last few (2014, honour-awards, committees) you go to the root of that directory which has an index.cfm that redirects to the appropriate location.

This worked fine in IE 9 and works fine in Chrome and other browsers. It seems to be an IE 11 thing.

Template that worked in CS6 is not working in CC

I moved to Dreamweaver CC from CS6.

In CS6 I created a template that I used throughout the site. In the past it has worked fine.

I upgraded to CC.

I made a change to the template and CC tells me I only have one file to update. I have thousands.

I checked one of those files that should have been updated and it appears to still be associated with my template.

I open the site with CS6 and make the same change I was trying to do in CC and it finds a whole slew of files. I'm not sure if it will see the files I changed since moving to CC, but this is proving that this is a verifiable bug with CC.

How do I fix Dreamweaver CC?

Form error after security hotfix apsb12-15

I tried posting this in the general CF area two weeks ago with no reply, so I thought I'd try here.

I applied the hotfix last week and everything seemed to be working, thought all was well.

It turns out that forms that used to work without a hitch suddenly generated error 500 with no clue as to the real issue.

These forms are simple fill it in, create a pdf file, display the file. Nothing too creative. With no error message, and nothing to tell me what is going on with this, I was forced to unload hf901-00005.jar and go back to hf901-00003.jar

It is all working again, but I'd really like to have the security patch AND have my forms work.

Any clues??

cfinput type="datefield" giving error with value CF10

I have a form that was working in CF9 but now that I've moved over to CF10, it is generating an error.

I had it working without the mask, but tried it to see if it would fix the problem.

I am getting the error: 10/19/2011 is an invalid date or time string.

If I'm displaying the date as month day year, then the date as it is displayed is correct.

Am I missing something or has something changed between CF9 and CF10?

Windows security update, now forms don't work

Ran various Windows Server 2003 updates over the weekend and now all of my forms come back with errors saying fields are undefined. These are all forms that were working before. Any ideas?

CFindex generating http 500 internal server error

I'm currently on CF 9 and moving to 10 shortly so I've tried the "migrate" from Verity to SOLR. That created directories/files, but didn't move the data.

I then tried to index what I normally index to Verity, but with the slightly modified syntax. It runs briefly and gives a http 500 internal server error.

I tried just logging onto the server and running the index from the CF administrator. Same problem.

I tried re-creating the collection from scratch. No joy there either.

Some additional info. Looking at the log files I find:

"Error","jrpp-952","01/14/13","10:21:41","EventV3","org/apache/pdfbox/pdmodel/PDDocument The specific sequence of files included or processed is: D:\UTEWebsite\admin\indexwebsite.cfm, line: 15 "

I've tried removing the .pdf from the list but it didn't fix the problem. I have way too many files to rename all of the PDFs.

Client variables stored in registry getting errors

I'm moving from CF9 to CF10. On the new server I've moved things over, and run the suggested lock-down proceedures. On the CF9 box, I'm using the registry to store client variables.

On the new server I've set it up to use the registry to store client variables. In the coldfusion-out file, I'm getting errors like:

On the new server, CF logs in with its own user whereas on the old system, CF logged in as admin. I'm guessing this might be the issue.

Anyone having similar issues or can suggest a solution? I did a search but most people were either turing off client variables or the answer was from 2006.

CF10 - upgrading to SOLR from VERITY - language choices

We are upgrading from CF 9 to 10. We currently have several Verity collections, indexed with "englishx" which works nicely for the French and English sides of the website. Under SOLR, I can choose to make a collection either English or French. This works for two of my collections, but I have one collection that is bilingual. I may have searches in English or French.

Is there a way around this, or do I have to create two collections and push uses to select the appropriate language?

cfinput type=datefield not working in some browsers

I'm using Cold Fusion 9 and have a form that is working fine in IE8 and Safari on my desktop, and is not working one someone's laptop and it doesn't work on my iPad.

When I say doesn't work, the box is still there for the date and you can enter it manually, but instead of that nice date picker, there is a box with a question mark in it.

I've checked my iPad (safari) and it says that javascript is on. Based on other message threads I've added ids to the fields (no change) and added name and id and format to the cfform tag (no change).

I'm missing something, but I don't know what.

hotfix application problems

I'm running Cold Fusion 9.01 and tried patching the system with the latest patch

I ran the jar update without any problems and then proceeded to update the various other files as directed. I restarted CF. I couldn't get into the admin screens anymore (server 500 error) and although most pages on the website worked, anything with a form that had required fields that should have throw a user message, generated a server 500 error.

I restored the Cold Fusion directory as well as the IE directories for CF and restarted the server. It is now running again, but if I go in to CF admin it shows the update level as hf901-00001.jar

So now the question is... is that .jar file actually still applied someplace and I missed something in my efforts to bring the system back to pre-update state?

Second question: How important is this patch in a non-shared environment?

Third question: is there any support to getting these patches working?

Cold Fusion Stops

We have had Cold Fusion stop a few times now. We are running version 7 with the latest patches on a Win2003 server. In the CF logs I've found a few things:

I've looked up the error and haven't found anything that would apply to us.

Again, haven't found anything on this. The page in question is just an 'html' style page that isn't processing anything and should be a breeze to display.

This is a new Dell server with lots of memory and disk space and it's only serving up one website with about 3-4000 pages and a couple of small databases. Until we moved to version 7, the system had been rock solid.

Any ideas?

Verity problem after upgrade to 7.02

I have two verify collections. The English collection is working ok. The French collection using the 'uni' multilanguage does not index using the Cold Fusion code, and if I try to index it on the server directly, I wait and wait and eventually it will give me a page not found.

When I was at 7.0, this index worked fine. Now after upgrading to 7.02, I cannot create the index.

I have tried deleting the collection and starting over but I get the same problem.

This is the code that had been working:
