Update 14 causes application pool stoppage

ColdFusion 10 Update 14 causes an application pool stoppage on one of our 2012/IIS8.5 servers. Has anyone else had any issues? We had to roll back to update 12.

How to disable Scheduler logging in CF10

In the coldfusion-out.log we are seeing scheduler log entries like this:

Quite simply, how can we disable them?

We have no logging enabled for scheduling in CF10 Admin, and yet they are still generated.

Advice appreciated.

Bots vs Browsers

Hi,

Do bots send CFID/CFTOKEN in the request headers? Is that a reliable way to detect if a bot is visiting? User agent testing leads to hundreds of strings to test against, and is an ever-growing list. Is there a more reliable way of detecting bots in 2014 with CF?

ColdFusion Admin problems, CF10/IIS8.5

Hi,

Anyone got any pointers for a broken CF10 CFAdmin - the CFAdmin on a client server packed up last night - and not sure why. The site works ok (serves .cfm's) but the CF Admin page is broken. It's missing the images and 404s the sha1.js file, so can't log in to the Admin. There is a CFIDE virtual directory on our local default site (but there is not one in the main sites web root) but still the problem persists. Fiddled with IIS and no joy Checked web.config's - no clues. Advice appreciated.

How to restart ColdFusion 10 programatically

The code that worked for us in CF 7 and 8 no longer works on v10.

CF 10 errors show Error 500 instead of normal error message

Hi,

Strangely, our CF 10 server has started to show "500 - Internal server error" whenever a CF error occurs, instead of the normal error message. The error is logged, but the front end shows the error 500 and nothing else. Normally, we'd see the error message and stack trace etc.

How would I troubleshoot that?

EDIT: This is a CF10 on IIS 8 Windows 2012 server, with update 11.

Problem with CFCHART on CF10

CFCHART is not rendering on our server for some reason. We cache to disk and are generating a .SWF file. The. SWF is in the chart cache folder ok, and can be viewed separately, however it will not render within a web page. When we view source we see this <object> tag:

but nothing appears. We tried all browsers and it's not a Flash installation issue. The graphData.cfm file never exists, and did not in previous CF versions either. Also the Images/ folder prefixing the .SWF file does not exist, but the 887962900010 0025.SWF file is in C:\ColdFusion10\cfusion\charting\cache on our server.

Does anyone have any pointers?

CF 10 CFADMIN loading issues

Hi,

We run CF10 standard on IIS8 Win 2012 and our CF Admin is going haywire. It frequently will not answer on 127.0.0.1 and when it does load it sometimes is missing information in the left nav bar or right hand pane.

Today we see "Service Temporary Unavailable!The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later. Jakarta/ISAPI/isapi_redirector/1.2.32 ()"

and yet the web site on the server is running fine.

We run FusionReactor and when the CF Admin is trying to load there are no running requests to stack trace. How can we debug this?

Sometimes, if we press CTRL-R repeatedly, it will load. Individual frames of the admin can be loaded if their address is entered, but the whole thing doesn't load. Most times it just refuses to load in its entirety and if we are lucky enough to get to a login screen, the system will not load after that screen.

On Chrome browser we got the Jakarta error, but in MSIE we get in and see a JavaScript alert "Error invoking CFC /CFIDE/Administrator/updates/download.cfc - Service unavailable"

Appreciate some help - we want to downgrade back to CF 7 which was rock solid for us

ColdFusion scheduler executes alltasks 1 hour early

Hi,

Our CF10 (Windows 2012, IIS8) has a number of scheduled tasks, but all are running 1 hour early. Our clock is set to GMT, and the tasks run GMT-1. The time settings in Windows are set correctly for our location - UTC London with daylight saving time.

Why is CF10 getting the time wrong? Does it take into account daylight saving?

CF 10 Scheduler - all tasks ran at once

Hi,

Quick question, are there any known issues with CF10 (update 11) and scheduled tasks? Today we had a dozen scheduled tasks, which run late in the night at completely different times, all run at once at 9am. The logs show CFSCHEDULE called the tasks from 127.0.0.1.

Has anyone experienced something like that and is there any explanation?

Losing sessions after moving to CF10

Hi,

We recently moved an application from CF 7 to CF 10 and have since noticed that browsing to a non secure page (http) to a https page makes the server lose our log-in session. Our site has a log-in page, and this is served securely. When the user logs in they can access all other pages that securely link from that log-in page. But, as soon as they click on a non-secure page, the session is lost.

This is a clean CF 10 install, not an upgrade. Are there any known issues with sessions and HTTPS in CF10 that we should be aware of? I printed out the session/cookie scopes on each page and it seems we get a new JSESSIONID for http/https sites, even though they have the same domain.

Our cfapplication tag is defined as:

cfapplication name="ourSite" clientmanagement="yes" sessionmanagement="yes" sessiontimeout="#CreateTimeSpan(0, 0, 20, 0)#" setclientcookies="yes" setdomaincookies="no" clientstorage="Cookie" scriptprotect="all"

Can anyone please shed some light on this? The domain is the same between http/https calls, so surely CF should be able to retrieve the cookie?

Configuring logging in ColdFusion 10

Hi,

Can someone please tell me how to configure the logging options in ColdFusion 10? In particular, we have a lot of WARN and INFO errors in our coldfusion-error.log and coldfusion-out.log files. These errors are not fixable, and we would rather not log them as they are not critical. The issue is that the logs grow massively and are not wanted.

How can we control the level of logging in ColdFusion 10? There is no information anywhere on this subject, either on the web generally or on Adobe's own website.

How to update timeout and interval of DSN in CF10 Admin API?

Hi,

We are trying to update an existing MSSQL DSN. Can we just overwrite the DSN to update it?

Secondly, the timeout and interval values never update, and these are the values we want to change. Is this a bug Adobe? Do you have an example of a MSSQL DSN update. The examples on the Adobe site do not work - the interval/timeout values are not updatable. We run CF10 update 11 on IIS8.

Help required for very simple HTTP binding to a remote server (not localhost)

Hi,

FlashBuilder 4.x looks very promising, but the system is very hard to use and doing very simple data binding operations becomes a mammoth task. Also, the documentation is appalling, and it seems every example Adobe has ever published concerns localhost and not a remote server. What happens if we don't want to use localhost, Adobe?!

Please, can someone show me, or explain to me, how to bind some external data - even something simple such as "hello world" - into a control in the page - textarea, datagrid etc? I want to use HTTP services to either return some HTML/XML/JSON - or indeed anything. Every time I try to bind, I get an error saying the URL I am entering has an error and I need to check parameters etc. Thing is, my script, which is a ColdFusion script just returns some (valid) XML. I also have a crossdomain.xml file on the root of the server, and the script runs fine when entered in a browser etc.

Any examples appreciated. Really feel like dumping FB4.6 in the recycle bin at the moment, because such simple things that can be coded by hand in seconds become mammoth tasks in FB
