the layes of the PSD file are flattened when i open the document in PS Touch??? i hope this can be solved in next few weeks, its a big problem, i thougt i could work in both ways!!! (sorry my english)

(You can save the file with layers, but layers are flattened when the file is opened in Photoshop Touch.) = USE JPG :-(

Hmmm, any chance we might get support for an actual file service such as iCloud or DropBox instead of a half-baked "let's download a picture from a Web site" solution? This feels pretty 1995 to me, and is probably the least elegant file-sharing "solution" I've seen in a long time.

How can I transfer image files between Ps CS5 on my desktop PC and the Ps Touch app on my Kindle Fire HD tablet (& vice versa) without using the Creative Cloud? Would it have to be a situation where I plug my Fire HD into the PC via USB and treat the tablet as an external drive? If so, will there be a recognizable folder (or some such) for me to know where to place the image from the PC onto the tablet to be accessible by Ps Touch? FYI, I do have Dropbox if that's a solution...

You might want to update this FAQ and also correct an issue with Adobe Extensions Manager CS6:

Adobe Extension Manager CS6 installed the AdobePSDXFileLoader.plug-in into Adobe Photoshop CS 5.1/Plug-ins/File Formats/

on my Mac.

Manually copying the "AdobePSDXFileLoader.plug-in" file from the CS5.1 folder

into Adobe Photoshop CS 6/Plug-ins/

has made it possible for me to open PSDX files in CS6.

I haven't run into any conflicts or instability since I did that.

It would seem that the Adobe Extensions Manager CS6's installation routine for this plug-in needs to be updated?

I don't have regular Photoshop. I have Photoshop Elements 10 right now. I purchased the PS Touch for my Ipad thinking I'd finally found a workable solution to editing my photos on the go. I have edited about 80 so far to a lesser quality than normal, but I understand that this app would have some limitations. However, now I can't upload them to any photo sites or save the edited files in any format but .psdx. They won't load into my PSE 10. I am angry, frustrated and want my money back. The app was a waste of $10 and a month's time. I am going to post this review onto the app comments as well.

Have you tried to download the "AdobePSDXFileLoader.plug-in" file and add it to your Elements Plug-ins folder?

[I have never used Elements so I have no idea if that would work but it is worth trying.]

Also the latest upgrade (1.4.1) for PS Touch now gives me the option to "Share"/ and then choose JPEG, PNG, PSDX or PSD from a drop-down menu.

Choosing PSD should deliver a Layered PSD to your computer which you can then open directly into Elements or Photoshop itself.

Hello and thank you for responding so quickly.

I installed the TouchApp Plug In, but it wouldn't open. I'll look for the

plug in you mention and see if it works.

I did discover that if I open a single picture and click on "Download", a

drop-down box will give me saving options including .jpg. So I used that

and had to do it photo by photo as there does not seem to be a batch

download option.

I will double-check to see that I have the latest update for PS Touch.

If there is a way to Batch Upload, I haven't found it.

At least PS Touch lets us transfer the files to our computers in editable form.

Dropbox on an iPad only lets you "Share" images one at a time as well.

All iPad Apps seem to be pretty limited in what they let you do but an iPad IS lighter to carry on a trip than a laptop — and my baggage is already always "over-weight" for the airlines as it is!

Help! I get to the very last step of the instructions above and ge the following error: CONNECTION FAILURE. DOWNLOADING FAILED. IMAGE CANNOT BE LOADED. PLEASE TRY AGAIN.

I can see the files I uploaded to the Creative Cloud, but PS Touch will not open them.

What next??? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Given that Touch supports layers, I don't understand why imported PSD files have to be flattened. Aslo, a agree with the commenter above, integration with Dropbox and/or iCloud is very important. If I'm sharing a project with someone via Dropbox, but have to make a round trip through CreativeCloud every time I make an edit, that's extremely inconvenient.

Think about it: Desktop Photoshop supports thousands of layers vs. the 12 available in PS Touch. (Never mind the hardware hurdle that tablets still present. They still need to play catch-up with their desktop cousins, the only exception being the Surface Pro line...which would basically negate the need for PS Touch since that line can run desktop Photoshop anyway.) The only way around that limitation is to flatten the sucker when it goes into PS Touch *unless* Adobe could figure a way to allow a flag for PSDs that have 12 layers or less.

Dropbox is more-or-less a competitor to Creative Cloud (in the sense they want you to collaborate using their cloud), so I wouldn't expect miracles soon.

I've never read the details of the PSD format, but I wouldn't think it's

that difficult for the importer to start reading layers and if it hits a

limit to pop up a dialog saying "Too many layers, flatten or cancel?"

Also, while Adobe may like people using Creative Cloud, my clients are far

less likely to be using it if they don't use Adobe products themselves. In

that sense, it's not a competitor because I can use Adobe's solution for my

own workflow, but Droxbox (or GDrive) when working with clients.

While I do enjoy using PhotoshopTouch the issue of working on a project should be easy regardless of which program the project was started in: desktop or mobile.

The fact PhotoshopTouch gives the user the option to save (share) a project, in my case the Dropbox option comes up, in the following formats jpeg, psd, psdx or png I expected Adobe to make it possible to save a layered document anywhere so the project workflow won't be hampered by WHERE it is saved. I need access to all my photos and art whether I am using my computer or Galaxy NotePro so I use Dropbox. Why Adobe can't accommodate one's preferred cloud storage is not good customer service. To only make available Adobe CreativeCloud is showing a lack of understanding we want a choice.

Adobe has done nothing to address this issue since 2011!!! Their response to my inquiry, in Twitter, was not helpful.
