multiple flash files to dvd

Hi,

I've been tossed into an existing project that was created using Flash CS6. I'm at a complete loss as I've little to no Flash experience. I have multiple flash files that appear to be organized as individual slides, a flash menu file that works as the dvd menu should, and a slew of other system type files like autorun. I've been tasked to make updates to the individual slides (this part is done) and recreate the dvd. It's the latter that I'm having trouble with. I have no idea how to take all of these files and burn them to a dvd with funtioning menu that will auto launch when put into drive. Can anybody help me through this process?

We're using Flash CC 2014 to create hs/html based interactives. One thing we've come across, is sometimes the published files fail to run. It seems like the export fails to include random clips in the library, so you get errors when it attempts to instantiate them, eg...

Uncaught TypeError: undefined is not a function

Is this something that happens if the scene gets to complicated?

Is there any way to debug what's going on inside the export script?

It's kind of killing our production flow.

Hello,

I am having the same issue with Flash CS6 and Mac OS 10.10 Yosemite.

After extensive testing I have found that the issue only occurs in Flash CS6 - I don't believe it is a system color setting or display issue since all other applications, including Flash CC, are fine.

To recap the issue: if you sample a color with the Eyedropper tool in Flash CS6, it chooses a different hex value that is lighter than the original color. In fact, I can draw a shape in Flash with a certain color fill, sample the color from the shape, and the shape is filled with a lighter color than it started with.

I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled the application via Creative Cloud with no result.

Interestingly, a co-worker also is running Yosemite and Flash CS6 but is not having the issue. The difference is that he had the application installed before upgrading to Yosemite, where I installed Flash on a system that already had Yosemite.

See some screengrabs and video to exemplify the problem.

We have literally hundreds of Flash files that must be updated and built in AS2/Flash 9, so using Flash CC is not an option. Without the ability to pick accurate colors with the Eyedropper tool, Flash CS6 productivity is seriously hampered.

Any information or help would be much appreciated.

I have created a background with couple of text input fields and a "send" button with some funny effects. Now, when I insert text into the input fields and click "SEND" I want the information to arrive on my email. How do I do that ?

A few details would make the answer more valid. Things like, which mobile devices are you targeting? Certain devices have strengths and weaknesses. I realize you want to play bundled video and this doesn't apply but NetStream does not return a bytesLoaded used with StageVideo (GPU accelerated video) on iOS making streaming videos difficult to build controls for (can't determine seeking range). Some versions of OS's can play video in the StageWebView with native HTML5 controls and others cannot (like Android prior to KitKat for the most part, the results are entirely erratic). iOS 8.1 / Apple are going to require apps support 64bit, taking some ANE choices that handle video off the table until they may or may not be updated.

If you're targeting multiple OS's then the solution is likely to require multiple approaches.

But If I save the JPG in an image software with compression about 76%, what gives me size 275 KB and then load it in AS3 then the result in quality is similar

OK, so I save JPG with no compression from image software it has 1.45 MB

Import it to FLV

Set compression from FLV to 76%

Set no smoothing

Compiled SWF file has 280 KB only 5 KB more than JPG (275 KB)

What indicates that I used very similar compression value in FLV as in image software.

Now the size is almost the same. So should be the quality.

But as we can see under the link, the quality is lower in Flash Player than in Windows PhotoViewer

So, to get the same quality I would have to use lower compression value in FLV and receive greater size.

Any idea why?

I've seen two problems with keyboard shortcuts

You add a new one, and they all get out of whack below where the new one was added
You're testing a movie, and it is getting the shortcuts instead

I usually try to head off the first by backing up my shortcuts regularly. I'll also check to see if this has happened after I add a new shortcut. Often if I see it and quit and reopen, it fixes itself.

I think there's a setting you can use for the second, but I find that launching my swfs from Flash Builder works better for a variety of reasons (such as you can launch it in debug mode repeatedly without recompiling), so I don't encounter #2 often.

I actually managed to fix it, but it took some time to figure it out:

i had the "selectable" button activated, so all the text got ported into the swf. when i removed that, i finally got down the size.

What type of textfield are you using? How much text is involved? A dynamic textfield will impact file size alot more than a static textfield will.

I know what you said. Did you read my response? If you are increasing the quality of an image you will get an increase in the file size - you are essentially adding data to the image. Open the image in any image software and increase the quality of it. You should see the file size increase regardless that you might not see any.

I didn't scale down the image.

What I'm saying is:

Have a file JPG, size = 275KB

Have a FLV file size 526B

Import JPG into FLV; set compresion to LOSSLESS(PNG/GIF); compile and the SWF file is 2,422KB.

How it is possible?

As the titel says, i have a flashfile im working on, a banner. I noticed that the size made a huge jump when i added a textbox (just added text, no animation/dynamic etc). So i tested to write the same line of text in an empty flashfile, and it jumped from 0 to 21kb. There has to be something wrong, this cant be right. I am also using Myriad Pro, so no funky crazy font. Fonts have always been a 1-3kb in size, so u can understand my dilemma.

Is there some sort of setting that i can fiddle with? From what i can see, i have no setting telling the font to be embedded or simular.

I REALLY need some help with this issue.

Did you scale down the size of the image after you inserted it while you still had the compressed setting? If so, you should also set the option to allow smoothing.

Increasing the quality of an image will pretty much always change the file size of it - nothing wrong with Flash in that aspect.

They work intermittently for me, and usually not. This is not a user issue, it's a bug in the software. Worse, this is a bug that's been getting worse with every edition of Flash since Flash CS2. Are we ever going to get this sorted out, or should we all just start trashing our preferences as a habit?

Flash plante pendant la publication après intégration des icônes personnalisées dans l'onglet "ICONES" et FICHIERS INCLUS" des paramétres de publication (PNG transparent).

La version sans icônes fonctionne parfaitement.

SWF size after importing JPG

Hi.

I create new FLA file.

Import 275KB in size a JPG file to it.

After I add it to the stage and compile SWF file I can see the size of SWF is about the same as that JPG (now wonder there is almost nothing more over there) but bitmap was compressed

and looks awful.

When I return and in bitmap properties set compression from Photo(JPEG) to LOSSLESS(PNG/GIF) then the quality is as in original but after compilation the size of SWF file is 2,422KB.

So I have normal size but poor quality or size 8 times of a bitmap with original quality.

Does anyone know what is wrong with that Flash Professional CS6?

I'm using the MSI GS60 ghost

with windows 8.1. 16GB RAM, intel core i7, and nvidia gt860m.

Just using my mouse, no tablet or something. Latest Version, And I do not have an Wintab32.dll

Can you help me because I need to use CC for my classes!

Your solution is exactly what i recommend to most of my customers, downgrade if possible. I actually do 1500+ ads each year and i clearly had to learn that the most convenient way to get an ad done is still Flash CS6 with AS2. There are just some little things you can not do with AS2 and Flash CS6, so i do not even start going through Adobes Flash CC horrorstory. Next step in online advertising is anyway HTML and not AS3, so i look at this pretty relaxed and never had the feeling i am loosing to much ground by not using Flash CC/Flash CC 2014.

I am placing a large bitmap on my stage, and the left and top edges of the bitmap are both 13 pixels offset from the edge of the stage- but the Properties window gives a value of 142 for x and y for the object. Why?

With the deadline being tonight i have actually downloaded CS6 and have created Action Script 2.0 swf with version FP8 to just get this job completed tonight. The codes for Script 3.0 / Fp 9 for clickTAG were not working for me but this is going to be my next mission to find out why when life is not so demanding.

I have to solve many of exactly those problems for other companies or bigger agencies.

Usually a high flashplayer version can be a problem for certain adservers and of course a wrong clicktag, but there are many other reasons why it may get rejected.

Tell me when you still need assistance in this case.

do exactly what i described for each frame/layer that extends beyond the length you want.

you can use cap-drag-mousedown to select mulitple frames and/or layers.

As reasonable as that sounds the problem is there is still a section of the frame line that remains and the play head INSISTS on going all the way to the end. How do you make it so it no linger does that?

Flash freezes in Firefox when I scroll the mouse wheel over a drop down list or text field (possibly others as well).

Whenever I scroll in a drop down menu in Flash in Firefox (for example, I move the mouse wheel just one detent), it just continues scrolling on its own all the way to the bottom of the list and freezes all interaction for about 10 seconds. It's really bizarre.

If I start click and dragging things, nothing happens, and then all of the sudden everything catches up and moves. As an experienced programmer, I can say that it looks like some kind of queuing of keyboard/mouse events with delayed execution. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

I found something from 2008 that sounds similar, although I am not using the sIFR they mentioned: sIFR mouse wheel scrolling freeze in Firefox - Stack Overflow

Seems to be a Firefox-specific issue, although it also seems to be something that has just recently started occurring since updating Firefox.

UPDATE: I was checking my Firefox version in Help > About Firefox, and it showed version 33, but also had a pending update so I restarted Firefox. The problem was no longer occurring at that point. When I checked the version again, it said 33.0.2, but it also said "applying update", with another pending restart. I restarted Firefox again. It's now stable at version 33.1. So perhaps it was a problem with that particular version, or even a temporary issue with that running browser instance.

Hi, I have a problem whit exporting files from Indesign cc 2014 -> Flash pro cc.

When i open a exported document in flash im missing elements and the animations.

I get some images and text but never vecorbased rectangles or anything graphical made in indesign.

Is the fla export function broken? I looked at several tutroials and guides but i can't find anything about this problem.

Is the workflow from indesign these days -> eps->ai->flash-animation->save?

to be clear you need to move the provisioning profile somewhere new each time. you cant move it for example back and forth between two folders. that doesn't work. But if you make a new folder and move it into there it will all work fine. I do notice that since this behaviour started Flash cs6 is les stable and crashes intermittently.

That works, but only when you adjust your keyboard settings in preferences to use all function keys. On a mac, that disables brightness, sound controls etc. Any workarounds?

Hi,

I've been using Flash ever since it was owned by Macromedia, and I can't seem to get my head around the keyboard shortcuts in CC. I used to be able to assign convert to symbol to page up and insert frame, keyframe and blank keyframe to F13, F14 and F15, and none of this works anymore. If you use the fn key to input them as keyboard shortcuts, it just puts a blank space. What happened, why is it happening and is there any way around? Hitting multiple keys together really isn't an option for these functions (seeing as you use them a couple thousand times each projects) and I'd really, really like to be able to use the same keys I've been using for years. Any ideas?
