Then, as I said, you could replace Flex with a Javascript library like jQuery. That would take care of the displays and the interaction with ColdFusion.

Thank you BK. It is actually like you say. Coldfusion is the back-end and Flash/Flex is interacting with it through remoting. Flex was used to build an application for the timetable and scheduling of operators who are doing tasks from location to location. The Flex app implements cairngom framework and the events interact with CFCs. I am new in Coldfusion and took over the application but I am hoping I have explained clearly. Thanks.

You say little about how you apply Flash or Flex. But, chances are, Coldfusion is at the back-end and Flash/Flex is interacting with it to produce a presentation layer at the front-end. You may therefore replace Flex with any technology that can interact with Coldfusion to produce the front-end. I would recommend powering Coldfusion with jQuery (and its AJAX features).

The CF11 integration notes describe how to do use Flash Remoting. I use that in my AS2 code and it works fine. I'm trying to migrate to AS3 where there is no Remoting. I have done the following:

If I remember correctly, cfform is not one of the tags excluded in sandboxing. So, my guess is that this problem is caused by something other than the cfform per se.

I would think immediately of access to the CFIDE directory. For that is where ColdFusion's script and flash configuration files are stored. This brings me to the idea that the issue might be caused by one of the new changes in functionality in ColdFusion 10, namely, a logged-in user may have no more than one active session.

Hello,

I am working with a client on an issue regarding cfform ( flash ) on a coldfusion10 server with multiple instances. We have multiple instances setup as a cluster. We then replicate all sandbox security settings to both instances. However, one instance loads a test flash form, while the other produces an 'RSL Load Failed!' error.

Running the same test on a site that doesn't have a sandbox setup, the form works just fine on that instance. This leads me to believe there is a problem with permissions due to sandbox security on this instance. Anyone know what specific folders/settings should be enabled to allow cfform ( flash ) to operate properly?

Thanks in advance. If more info is required, let me know.

I am running the following:

ColdFusion 8 Developer /Enterprise

RedHat Linux Enterprise 6.0

Apache is my webserver

The JRE is what came with ColdFusion

I am trying to Enable SSL connection between Flex/Flash Application

and Coldfsuion.

I followed the direction outlined in:

However, when I get to:

Flex Integration:

keytool -export -v -alias FlexAssembler -keystore cf.keystore -rfc -file cf.cer

I get a Java IOException: Keystore was tampered with, or password was incorrect.

The password is correct. The file is on a closed system, so nobody has tampered with

the file.

I assume I am supposed to import the certificated into

/opt/coldfusion8/funtime/jre/lib/security/cacerts

I have tried removing the "JRE cacerts" file, but that failed.

As suggested by another website.

Any ideas.

I have been trying to get 127.0.0.1/flex2gateway/ to work but get 404

Getting cfgrid (flash) to submit a row

Hi all,

I'm at about my wits end on this...I can submit a row from a query set in cfgrid if I set it to format=html and it works just fine. However, with that format, I cannot sort columns which is necessary. So, I set format=flash and the formatting works great, but I cannot submit a row for processing. I've searched Google, Google Groups, Adobe, everyplace to no avail. Plenty of "Working" solutions, but none work for me. Below is the latest attempt:

The query does indeed have a row called "ID" and it does display properly in the grid itself. When I submit the form (which does indeed open up a new window ('_blank'), I get the following on my url and a blank page is displayed.

"cqStatus_s1.cfm?CFGRIDKEY=undefined"

If I put the ID into the url manually, the data on that page will display properly. I've tried other query column names (checking for the possibility that ID is reserved) with the same results.

VERY FRUSTRATED!!!!

Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

It may seem silly, but the solution was to add a slash ('/') to the end of the gateway URL:

https://{ip address}/flashservices/gateway/

This was not required in earlier versions, but apparently it is in CF 10.

Once I added that character to my code, Flash Remoting worked in my application, again.

We've been using Flash Remoting for years and now, while testing CF 10 on a development server, find that it no longer works.

In particular, I get a 404 error when trying to access https://{ip address}/flashservices/gateway.

I've already confirmed that remoting is enabled in the Administrator and followed the steps given in the documentation (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/10.0/Installing/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811cdec1896 9-7ffa.html).

Any advice?

For our profect I think this issue was caused as follows:

Believing that remoting was full asynchronous we fired a 2 or 3 remote calls to the server at the same time ( within the same function ) - usually when the users goes to a new section of the app.

This seemed to trigger the duplicate http session error since according to http://blogs.adobe.com/lin/2011/05/duplication-session-error.html two remote calls arriving before a session is created will cause 2 sessions to be created.

Our current solution ( too early to say it works ) is to daisy chain the multiple calls together .

Also there seemed to be an issue where mobile apps that never quit ( thanks Apple! ) caused the error when activated after a few hours.

I guess the session expires on the server and the error above occurs on activation.

So the mobile apps now ping the server with a remote call when activated after sleeping for more than one hour.

All duplicate http errors are silently caught and reported.

Fingers crossed we won't get any more!

I enabled session management for the CFCs in Application.cfc

What are the values of sessionTimeout and applicationTimeout? Do you rewrite the session anywhere, for example, using structDelete or structClear? Any cfcookie code, too?

We're getting the "duplicate session" error using Flash Remoting from Air 3.4 Mobile Apps ( IOS and Android ) with Coldfusion 10 Standard.

faultCode:Server.Processing.DuplicateSessionDetected faultString:'Detected duplicate HTTP-based FlexSessions,

generally due to the remote host disabling session cookies.

Session cookies must be enabled to manage the client connection correctly.' faultDetail:'null'

Have read most of the docs about this error -all to do with LCDS

Notes:

Not using LCDS,
No Remote Calls from loaded Sub-Apps,
No Errors from the Flex Web App which is pretty much identical and calls the same cfcs.
The error does not happen all the time and is hard to reproduce - say 5% of app sessions at a guess.
Could it be a two first time remote calls hitting the server together before a session is set up?
Our remoteObjects are in two places 1) Main Application.mxml and within a class compiled into the main app - can't see how this would be an issue.
I enabled session management for the CFCs in Application.cfc but still occurs. Is this neccessary - it's not in any docs?
Could this be something to do with the app not being shut down - as is typical with mobile users? When they resume use after a day or two surely a new session will be created?

It looks like the host name was the issue. We used http://localhost:8302 and changing that to use the local IP address instead, such as http://<IP address>:8302 solved the problem. Not sure exactly why. The Flash movie contained an image that was loaded into the Flash movie from the server as well. But presumably when the bytes were collected from the finished movie's bitmap, the origins of the images are irrelevant?

We use Flash to generate dynamic graphics and convert them to a PNG graphic by posting the base64 encoded bitmpa data to a coldfusion page, which saves the graphics file on the server.

This works well most of the time but for certain larger graphics we a ColdFusion exception in the post page, as follows:

08/02 12:40:16 error ROOT CAUSE:

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: err.io.short_read

at coldfusion.filter.FormScope.parsePostData(FormScope.java:325)

at coldfusion.filter.FormScope.fillForm(FormScope.java:295)

at coldfusion.filter.FusionContext.SymTab_initForRequest(FusionContext.java:377)

etc....

I have not been able to find out whether this is a problem with the Flash code that does the posting or with some other configuration issue. The maxumum post size is 200MB and the images data is less than 200K

How are you getting that?

It'd be a lot easier to help you if you explain what you're doing (code) what the results are (as per above), and how that differs from your expectation.

You could try getBaseTemplatePath(). This works for me when being called remotely from a browser, eg:

basically the problem im having now is there are no vars in CGI in CF that let me know the directory of the current cfc being called. which is a problem because my cf app needs to behave differently based on its location of the server

all the log says is

"Error","jrpp-122","06/25/12","15:12:55",,"Event handler exception. An exception occurred while invoking an event handler method from Application.cfc. The method name is: onApplicationStart."

Debugger broken as usual.

I've narrowed down my error to this in app.cfc because the match is failing on a regex because I didnt realise flex requests always set this to the flex gateway

I need to look at the file paths instead of these vars

I couldn't comment on how Flex calls might impact the presence of those variables.

What do the error logs say? They're likely to have more info.

What other troubleshooting steps have you yourself come up with? How have you tried to debug this?

No. The application scope is used to access application-scoped variables.

I think you need to read up on how scopes work in CF. Read this entire section of the docs:

I can't guess where in your code you put the CFDUMP, so I can't really comment on the rest of it.

Well you're not setting that either. Why would you expect it to exist? Do you understand that THIS.someVar != APPLICATION.someVar != someVar. They are completely different things.

these debugger issues just force users to move to things like .Net

The only reference to this.environment is in that statement you just quoted. So it doesn't exist. Nowhere in your Application.cfc (as quoted in your earlier post) do you create that variables. That's why CF is telling you it doesn't exist. Because it dun't ;-)

And - no - I could not get the CFB debugger working in any way other than very basic test cases (and ti wasn't very robust when I could get it working). It seems you need to have your source code location, site structure and CFB project set up in a very unlikely-to-be-how-one-needs-it-to-be sort of way for it to work. And I'm not going to restructure our application justt o get some shoddy CFB functionality to work.

I see that, but I don't see what is wrong with my code:

because that var should be defined in app.cfc?

btw can you offer any tips on getting this horrible debugger to work better?

Right. And what does the error message say:

Element ENVIRONMENT is undefined in THIS. The specific sequence of files included or processed is: C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\coldfusion\tests\testEnvironmentName.cfm, line: 24

Does that not give you a pretty big hint as to what's wrong? Read the error, and ask youirself "OK, what does that mean? What's CF telling me here?"

It's also telling you the exact line that has the problem on it.

why does adobe release this CFB2 debugger nonsense ?!

If I call a cfc from flex this is the error:

"Error","jrpp-65","06/22/12","13:44:05",,"Event handler exception. An exception occurred while invoking an event handler method from Application.cfc. The method name is: onApplicationStart."

if I call from a cfm:

Well you can debug it via a CFM file instead of from Flash (or using the CFB debugger, which I agree is a bit hit and miss. Mostly miss). And you could look at the error logs to see what the errors are...

hi, im using flash remoting to call cfcs and I want to use this application.cfc to determine the environment (the APPLICATION.environment defines a DSN used in the cfcs flash calls).

however everytime I call a cfc with this app.cfc I get a error from CF which I can't debug because CF builder is uselss for connecting to debuggers. Any ideas?
