I wanted to show my report field like ' from 10/20/2014 to 10/25/2014 and have above code in the expression.

I got error when run the report.

It works for one expression like DateFormat(query.fromDay, "m/d"), but it does not work to combine 2 of them together.

cfchart yaxis scale is wrong when combining bar and line charts

Hi, I am trying to combine a bar and line chart ti display data. Everything looks good except that the yaxis scale is off. I set the scaleMin to 0 but that doesn't help. Below is my code, the custom XML style and a screen shot. My ultimate goal is to get the yaxis to start at 0, not -1,000 as is currently the case. I have combined this data with each set represented as bar charts and do not have this problem. It must be the combo of bar and line charts together. Any assistance is most appreciated.

Fonts are not embedding in CFRB10, and CFRB11 reports it is still version 10??

So, I have a report built using CFR Builder 10 with the fonts all marked as "embedded font" in order to make the report look as it should. However the fonts default to Helvetica when it generates.

So - I need to know why this is not working properly, since it should. All the HELP notes is that the PDF file will be larger with embedded fonts, which everyone should know already.

Second : I upgraded to CFRB11 to see if that issue was fixed, but when it opens it looks the same as CFRB10 and the HELP/ABOUT menu shows it is still version 10?? Is this just a bug or is Adobe pawning off version 10 as version 11. It should be a new version with the new CF version since it would need to include new functions etc, as well as have any issues fixed since version 10, of which there were a few.

Any ideas on either - or response from ADOBE?

I miss Macromedia, at least they always had staff members answering forum posts often.

I have a chart data source for 25 columns and assign to my line chart data source.

The chart shows data but only use 50 percent of the chart width.

I would like to have my chart extend the full width of the report which is landscape orientation.

Are there any property to set stretch the whole width?

My report has group like element 1, element 2. Chart has evaluation group property to set.

I set it to my group name which is MyElement, but it seems that the chart prints the same chart for the all group.

Are there any property to set the the chart print different chart base on the group.

I have my chart in Group Footer. Should I have it in detail band?

Reporting Excel missing clast column

I have a report which has 40 columns and orientation is landscape. left and right margin is 0.0972 in.

It shows all columns on pdf format, but missing last column when use Excel format.

Are there any limitation for Excel format report?

If PDF format has the last column, why Excel does not pick the last column?

sub report size at design time

I noticed that the size of sub report is limited on the main report at design time.

For example, if I have sub report hight at 1" then the maximum height will be 1" on the report at run time.

The design area has limit too, so if this is the case, my report design area is limited to my report.

Please let me know if I am wrong, or any work around for this,

Does ColdFusion Report Chart support sub report?

I have not done it myself, but the documentation says the name of the chart refers to a chart in a report or sub-report, so it seems that ColdFusion will find the chart as long as it is named correctly.

Please forgive me, I never personally used the method documented in the link I provided. I have reviewed how I achieved the same thing and I did it differently.

Click on your chart in the Report Builder and in the Properties window give it a Name such as MyChart.

Then change your CFML to the following:

For one thing, remove the number signs around mydata in the cfreport tag.

Let's make sure your chart's stored procedure is returning data. Try the following and see if you get the expected result set. My changes are in bold:

I have following code to generate the report.

mydata is source or report and getQ is the source of chart.

The report running and mydata correct on the report, but the chart does not get result from MyChartSP.

Do I have any thing wrong from the code following?

It seems that the chart query does not pass to the report for some reason.

The chart always show the data from the data from the query, not from stored procedure.

I save query as a variable, but it does not show the variable when I re open the report from report builder.

Are there any particular way to save the variable on the report for the chart?

Yes, that is why the chart's query is assigned to a request variable. The query that you pass to the report is the query parameter of the cfreport tag.

The Excel sheet always name ColdFusionReport.

I want to add chart to my report and add a chart control on my report.

I double click on the chart and edit chart type as line chart and edit chart series.

I use Data from a fix of values and choose the field name from the drop down from my data source field name, but I got following error message.

An error occurred while trying to create a chart on this report.
Ensure that the column(s) selected for the chart series are numerical values. Error: The chart could not be generated due to an error in the graphing engine.

I tried to select from data from query. I have to build my query from report.

I use a stored procedure for this report, so I need advance to build my query, once I use the stored procedure then Report Builder warn me that it will erase all fields to recreate fileds.

I would like to know what is the right procedure to create chart for the report.

As I said in my first reply, you want to use your SQL query to prevent data from reaching your report that you don't want to print. That way you won't have to decide whether or not to print something in the definition of the report itself. In other words, the report can assume that any data it receives are data that must be printed.

Remove the grouping from your query and add a condition that will only return records where the transaction amount is at least $20. Something like this:

Your SQL engine syntax may differ, but you can adjust it as necessary. You will also need to add your other criteria to the sub-query, for "posted" and "exclude_from_bill" etc.

Okay, so your report shows quite a lot of detail.

Why are you summing amt_1 in your SQL query? Surely you want to show the actual amount of each transaction next to the transaction and have a total at the bottom of the transactions.

I'm having trouble with the query. I think I have to GROUP BY all the fields I am selecting, because the data is not the same for each record it is not summing the amount field. Here is my query:

report type flashpaper

I created a couple of reports and try to run different format.

I just realized that some report works flashpaper, but some of them do not.

I set default format to flashpaper at design time for all reports.

The reports work for PDF, Excel, RTF, XML and HTML, but for flashpaper some of them work, some of them do not.

I would like to know are there any property and code need to set it works.

I use IE 8 which should support flashpaper, since some of the reports work.

As I mentioned in your other thread about this scenario, if you prevent your report query from returning records that meet those conditions then you don't have to worry about handling them in the report itself.

Each section on a Bill is checked for a specific condition in the 'Print When Condition'. This can cause blank pages to be created and printed, it there a way to not print blank pages?

If the field types are explicit, then you don't need to format them as strings before comparing them.

What happens if you try the following expression?:

( (query.asofdate NEQ calc.AmtDate) AND (query.bal + calc.anticipated LTE 25.00) )

I only want to print a page if two conditions are met. On each section I am using the following Print When Condition:

DateFormat(query.asofdate, "mm/dd/yyyy") NEQ DateFormat(calc.AmtDate, "mm/dd/yyyy") AND LSNumberFormat((query.bal + calc.anticipated), "_.__") LTE LSNumberFormat(25.00, "_.__").

The date check works great by itself and the amount check works great by itself but I can't get them to work together. Any ideas?

I created part of the query and tested it. It ran great, however, when I try to open my report I get:

500 - Internal server error.

There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.

I think I now have a better idea of what you are trying to accomplish.

You don't need a sub-report to get each person's dates on the same line. It is best to do that in your query, for example:

select table_name.UserName, dtFafsa.FafsaDate, dtLetterSent.LetterSentDate, dtLetterReceived.LetterReceivedDate
from table_name left outer join
(select userID, FafsaDate from table_name as table_name_fafsa where appchk_cod = 'FF') as dtFafsa on table_name.userID = dtFafsa.userID
left outer join
(select userID, LetterSentDate from table_name as table_name_LetterSent where appchk_cod = 'AS') as dtLetterSent on table_name.userID = dtLetterSent.userID
left outer join
(select userID, LetterReceivedDate from table_name as table_name_LetterReceived where appchk_cod = 'AR') as dtLetterReceived on table_name.userID = dtLetterReceived.userID

This is obviously not syntax checked, but it illustrates the concept.

Each derived table returns the date of each code. You will need a derived table for every code you want to report on.

I finally created the sub-report. I am getting the correct output but it is not printing the data across the band. I created calculated fields to only show if the appchk_cod matched the column heading.

How can I save the dates for the different appchk_cod and print them in the same band? I want the report to look like:

Disposition Filing FAFSA Award Award Jump Start Housing Housing

FAFSA Date Letter Sent Letter Rec'd Date Contract Rec'd Deposit Rec'd

Student Name Accepted 05/15/2014 3/14/2014 06/14/2014 06/14/2014 06/14/2014
