Sorry, I didn't explain the issue correctly, is not within a website, the problem is when I try to open the flashhelp project in a shared drive within the company.

I know you won't be able to open this but I will copy the path:

Without more to go on (screen capture or whatever) one thing to check is to ensure the web server MIME type is serving up .SWF content.

Why cant I see an image in flash players settings manager?

Earlier i couldnt see an image in the settings manger. i research this and found that in, internet options>advanced tab>security. to uncheck the box that reads. save image to disk. so I cleared the check box and now I have an image to clear my flash cache. Now i cant see it again. the only thing different i did was run my Malwarebytes program. that shouldnt have done anything to the problem. i checked the internet options under advanced tab again the the box is still unchecked. so why am i not seeing the image? also, when i checked to see if i had flash player installed ( I uninstalled my copy today and reinstalled the same program, I was concerned about a faulty program) it installed correctly, it said i have the current version installed but it says i dont have any browser? Im using IE10. it said all this when i was testing my new installation. Please help..

the flash files are not compatible with the latest flash player.

Thanks for the info.

I've recently stumbled on an article on how to view the packaged file (apk) published using AIR 3.2 for Android setting (Adobe Flash CS6). All you need to do is change the extension of the file from (.apk) to (.rar) or (.zip) and extract the file as you would with any other zip or rar file. I was able to confirm that the packaged file (apk) indeed contain all the videos for the presentation. I have more than 80 videos in the presentation. All videos included in the package are of the same video format and resolution (FLV 320x240) but of different duration. I intentionally included the all the videos inside the package so I can use the presentation anywhere and anytime without the need to connect to the internet. The packaged apk file size is (1.23GB) the file includes the project's swf and xml file, the component swf and videos.

When installed to android I noticed that the package remained as an apk file. Not really sure if android temporarily unpacks it when you run the app.

Testing phase:

I see no problem when I'm testing the project on my desktop computer. But when packaged and installed on my device the problem arise.

Problem:

I'm able to install and run the app on my device but wont play some of the videos included in the package.

Was this due to the limited RAM or processor of my android device?

I wanted to distribute the presentation to friends so i was trying to package it for easy access and installation on their device.

Alternative Solution:

I installed a third party app called SWF player by BIT LABS. Copied all the files to my device (the project's swf and component swf with the videos). The project worked like a charm the player (SWF player) and was able to run the presentation as if it was running of my desktop. All buttons and videos working properly. Although the alternative solution worked for me I still wanted to package the presentation for easy access and distribution to friends.

Publishing a flash project with videos included for android and iOS.

I'm currently working on a project that works like a brochure. Its just a simple presentation, navigating from one page to another and instead of images I used videos and simple text. Nothing really fancy. I'm using as3 for my scripts. The videos are in FLV formats that is loaded into flash via the FLV Player component. When test publishing in my PC the project works really well with no errors. Videos and buttons all working the way it should. But when I publish for Android and after installing it on my device some of the videos will play but not all. Using a file manager, I tried looking into the installed file on my android device (mnt/asec) folder but can't really tell if all the videos are there. The only file visible on my android device is the apk file installed. About the same size (999mB to 1gB) as the original apk file packaged by flash. I'm pretty sure I've included all the videos in the package. I tried it several times but end up having the same result. Is there a way to find out if the packaged apk is indeed complete? What might be the problem? Is there a limit to number of videos or file size of the package? Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

No errors or warnings when searching in IE, Chrome, or Firefox. Still only IE 9 is returning search results in left pane.

This is FlasHelp, so the search is probably hidden inside some Flash files.

For what it's worth: Can you try opening the developer console in the browsers (press F12). Then see the console tab and try to search. Does the console show you any errors or warnings?

Is there anyone out there that could tell me what are the top causes for search not working in a FlashHelp produced robohelp project? Some IE browser versions work sometimes others do not, other browsers like Chrome and Firefox seem to really have an issue with the search functionality.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Okay, so you might want to troubleshoot this a bit further. At least I would do it this way.

I'd personally try downloading an older version of the Flash Player/Plug In. Uninstall the version 12 player and reinstall the older version. Test. There should be no need to re-generate the output. Just test with an older version of the Flash Player.

The reason I suspect this is because I also have encountered issues on my own machine where I am unable to view video content after an update to the Flash Player.

If that turns out to be the case, I'd guess your next best bet would be to abandon FlashHelp and use WebHelp instead.

I am using Adobe Flash Player 12 in all browsers.

I am also testing in both local C drive location and on server. Same outcome with no returned search results.

This seems to be an isolated issue with one of the projects I produced. I reproduced it and tested again and only IE on my local machine allows me to search. After uploading to server again I get the same no returned search results in any browser.

Hi Anthony

As you are producing FlashHelp, (well, assuming you are based on this being the FlashHelp forum and all) I might suspect looking at the Flash Player installed on your system. Note that IE, Firefox and Chrome implement the Flash Player differently. So it's entirely possible to have perhaps version 8 of the Flash Player on IE and version 12 in Firefox. Not sure if Chrome is special or if it uses the same player as FF or IE.

But that's where I'd begin looking.

Additionally, it might also depend on whether you are viewing the help content off your local C drive or whether you are testing after uploading to a web server.

Hello All,

I have been using Robohelp for some time now going all the way back to RH7. Currently using RoboHelp 10. I just created a RH10 Flashhelp project and I am having problems with the search results. Here is what I get.

After Producing FlashHelp and opening localling to test search I get the following

IE 9: Search works correctlly

Firefox 26.0: Search returns no results immediately, no long progress of searching almost instant return of no results.

Chrome: same as Firefox.

Hosting on IIS 6 Windows 2003 server R2 with Service Pack 2

IE9: No search results

Chorme: No search results

Firefox: No search results

Does anyone know of possible browser or RoboHelp generation settings that may cause this.

I'm not exactly certain what is meant by "enhanced search", but I do not believe FlashHelp skins were modified much, if at all, with the latest release.

So I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this does not apply to FlashHelp.

Creating a game progress bar?

Everywhere I search this there are tutorials for creating a progress bar of the loading of the game. I'm interested in creating a progress bar within game, so if an answer is answered correctly the bar increases, if it's wrong it decreases. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I need a preloader what play this animation while the next animation or the main content is loading. After the Loading is complete, the first animation is ending and the second animation will stat. When watching live streaming on flash-based video it skips in time, shooting back from 'live' to an hour before, back to live, back to an hour before and so on. I've disabled 'enable hardware accelloration' to see if that helps, but it doesn't.

Flash installed and up to date however flash does not run on any web browser

I was catching up on watching a televsion show and watching it with no issues/no problems with flash before. I went to the website below and all of a sudden flash is not working. I did not change any settings, run any updates. I checked various browsers, flash content is not working on any of them. I can view youtube videos however just about any other site I've tried, nothing and many websites will not display correctly. I tried some of the troubleshooting suggestions in the forum however some of them I'm unable to do such as alter the flash settings, it takes me to the page but tells me I don't have Flash installed. I've tried switching user accounts on my pc as others have said flash works for them on the other account however mine is still broken. I've actually tried a system restore, still no luck.

Windows 8 (64 bit)

Flash Version 11.9.900.152

Tried web browsers IE, Firefox, Chrome - I've verified it is enabled

Active X is disabled

I've ran the 'test' to verify Flash is installed and it displays the video

I ran the debugger however I do not know how to interpret the data.

PLEASE HELP!!

Flash help - Shape tweening

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with an issue I am having in flash. I made a shape using the pen tool and made it a mask. Then I inserted key frames and did a few shape tweening. It works fine for a while and then suddenly freaks out in a couple of frames then goes back to normal and I can't figure out why. I have the file if anyone wants to take a look, I can email or if there is any way to attach it here I can. Any help wouyld be appreciated. Thanks!

Can you host the help on a web server? That way you won't have the

blocked content issue.

As for changing the Flash player, I think you may have more luck on the

Flash forum. (For example http://forums.adobe.com/community/flashplayer)

But I wouldn't get my hopes up. It would be extremely insecure if you

could add a trusted location with another application. That's just

asking for malware to come in through the window

Resolved - Getting blank page and "Allow Blocked Content" issue with the help of "Flash Player Settings Manager".

All Programs->ControlPanel->FlashPlayer->"Flash Player Settings Manager"->”Trusted Location Settings”

We have added folder path of local help into the trusted content using setting manager.

But for end user how it can be done? Will it be possible to do same settings programmaticaly using C#.NET?

Hi,

The problem is a security setting in IE. Try enabling the 'Mark of the Web' setting to make it work for IE. (In the SSL settings.)

Alternatively, put the help in a web server, then it is sure to work.

Tried with below option,

Flash Help -> we are working with it and has problem for our desktop/standalone wcf application.

Flash Help Pro - > We know that RH server is req. for this option

Web Help Pro- > We know that RH server is req. for this option

Trouble in (Flash Help),

1. When we invoke Flash Help with respective topic ID, it will not show requested topic page along with TOC, it will show default topic/page, which we set at the time creating help. Also it will display "Allow Blocked Content" button at the bottom. If we click on "Allow Blocked Content" it will display the above requested topic page correctly, but without TOC pane. This time we can see 'Show' button(link) on the browser. If we click on 'Show', blank page get displayed.

2. When we are displaying content with option 'OptionConstants.CSH_DISPLAY_CONTEXT' it only show topic and it won't show me the TOC along with current selected topic page.

3. When we are displaying content with option 'OptionConstants.CSH_DISPLAY_CONTEXT' it only show topic with 'Show' link. When we click on 'Show' link, blank page get display.

4. Tool gives us facitlity to publish the Flash help, where we can choose the folder. This means that it publishes folder structure. We are using this folder structure (the published one) and on the top of that we are not getting expected(blank page get display) result.

I am using IE10, and I tried another computer and had the same issues. Something that occurred to me that may make a difference, is I published to my local computer and opened the HTM files from there, not a server. Did the same on the other PC.

For a PDF link, if I right click and copy the shortcut to the document and paste it in the address bar, the document comes up. I thought it may be something I did in RH (or forgot to do) but Opera and Firefox the links all work fine, so I’m assuming there is some issue with my browser settings.

What version of IE are you running? Is the same issue happening on other PCs? If not, what IE version do they have?

Creating output in RoboHelp

Upgraded recently from RH8 to RH10 and tried to create several types of output for a basic Help file (FlasHelp, WebHelp, WebHelp Pro) but none of them seem to work correctly.

Flashelp/WebHelp does not work in IE (links to PDF don't do anything)...Chrome the tab just keeps flashing.

All layouts work OK in Firefox or Opera.

MS HTML Help is the only one that works which is OK but was hoping for more features.

I'm not a programmer but would appreciate any thoughts or ideas.

You're in the wrong forum as this forum is for a help format called FlashHelp. For the Flash Player, I think you need to look at http://forums.adobe.com/community/flashplayer?view=discussions

1st, as new here, hope this is posted in the right place.

Starting a month or so ago, I noticed a new behavior with Flash. Whenever I would switch to another window, the flash web application I was running (game, advertisement, whatever) would stop, leaving me with a grey window and an 'f' in the middle. Lol, so appropriate. What's the deal? What's the fix? I should be able to tab to another window, minimize, or bring some other window in front of that browser page and still let the thing run "off screen" or hidden. Why does it stop? Typically I have to login again to the application or restart the demo or application that was running flash. Very annoying.

Why can't I watch youtube?

So just about 30 minutes ago, I downloaded the newest version of adobe flash player. I went to youtube and clicked a video. It said "blocked plug-in" so i clicked that and it said "The version of 'Adobe Flash Player' on your system does the include the latest security updates and has been blocked. To continue using 'Adobe Flash Player', download an updated version from

adobe's website". I've downloaded the newest already. What is the problem? I have a macbook air btw. What should I do to be able to watch videos again?
