Adobe Experience Manager Forms is fully supported with Win2012. Did you have any sales contact at the time you were using LiveCycle 7.x ? That should be the right point of contact for sale-purchase related questions.

Hi,

we are migrating to new server windows 2012. One of our legacy application is using Adobe LifeCycle Forms 7.2.2 and Adobe life cycle Reader extension 7.2.2. JBoss service for Adobe LifeCycle is 3.2.5. I need help from experts here:

1. Does this version of Adobe LifeCycle is supported on Windows 2012 server?

2. If it does, is there any place where I can download it, I am not able to find the CD in my repository.

3. If it doesn't support window 2012 server, what options I have? upgrade it? anything else other than upgrade?

4. Can you point me to some document which will help to install the Adobe LifeCycle 7.2.2

Hello,

we are working on the publishing of some Adobe Livecycle PDF protected documents on a website we are working on.

We noticed an anomaly in Chrome Browser (Saphari too). The browser can't recognize PDF protected Document, so clicking to the download of the pdf document, it use "Chrome Pdf Viewer"

and shows a message to user 'Unable to open document'.

Is there any system to force the browser to open the protected pdf with Adobe reader?

The solution about asking the User to disable Chrome Pdf Viewer and enable Adobe Reader is Excluded.

I am trying to set up a universal process to create printed documents from data submitted via a watched folder. The file arrives in the folder fine. My process accepts the data the way it should but when I try to set the variables in the process from my xml input, I cannot. The process properties says nothing selected. The Set Value service is running. We have a very abbreviated version of Live Cycle ES4 with only Forms and Output purchased. Any suggestions or help with this would be appreciated. One additional note: I am not sure if this is an installation, configuration, or deployment issue. I had this working in the evaluation copy, now in the abreviated purchased copy it is not. We are new, I am tasked with converting old old jetforms to Live cycle. Thank you.

the download works for me for all 4 versions of Designer, no idea why it doesn't work for your.

Try the following:

1. Open the download page

2. Sign in with your Adobe-ID

3. Accept the EULA

4. Paste the direct download URL into your browser address bar. http://trials3.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/ADSR/11/win32/lces_designer_11_0_0_wwe_win.zip

When I am on http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=livecycle_designer and select "English Windows" and click the download button it is throwing a 500 error and I am unable to download the trial LiveCycle Designer. Any ideas? Thanks.

I saw your link and it's interesting.

Do you think that is possibile also manage/insert:

- flowable text field

- image fields

- pre-fill data (my user fill form in many days of work...so they need to re-open a form and find data inserted past days).

- high quality DPI final PDF (to print on paper).

- and finally. .. generally more "beauty" form? :-)

I used "could" in the context of designer. This type of process/workflow can be designed and have been designed.I've seen multiple such PDF forms which are submitted inside Reader/Browser e.g. https://wsr.pearsonvue.com/vouchers/asiapac_form.pdf

Such forms are submitted over REST endpoint, data either sent as XML or PDF and processed on the server.

The PDF form could also be submitted inside Adobe Reader/Reader plugin inside browser, over a REST HTTP endpoint, pointing to a LiveCycle process, which could process this form.

Hello

I'm evaluating the feasibility of a software solution based on Adobe Lifecycle and I will appreciate some explaination.

I'm sorry for lack of knowledge about that specific technology.

Through the use of a web platform I need to distribute (by download and/or emails) some flowable pdf modules. Final users insert data and images inside modules.

Then I need to have those data (structured inside a database) and the correspondents final printable PDFs.

Does Adobe Livecycle provide the direct connection to my input database?

I read the Adobe LC docs and I know that usually the final user re-send the PDF module via email and then it's uploaded inside the server to register data and images....but the reasons cause I want a direct connection to my database in realtime are:

1) I have not the warranty / certezza that final users will send back me the module.

2) I need to monitor the progress of works of all my users. The pdf is about 20-30 pages, so I need to know at which status of work each user is... and which fields they have edited and which not.

3) My user are not skilled in computer science so I don't exclude that they return me a wrong copy of PDF (this is a minor requirement).

In case it could be connect PDFs directly to database, ... could be a vulnerable solution because of the exposure of database on the web?

Otherwise... If is not possibile ... do exist alternative solutions that satisfy my needs?

N.B. I cannot ask to final user to make some tecnichal or specific system configuration of their desktop. The final user are not in my intranet and I don't know which operating system they use... Yes, I can put some "minimal system requirement" to use my service, but I cannot ask them not-usual or un-conventional system configurations. The users are not skilled in computer science, so the solution has to do as easy & smart as possible.

I am also looking at how to do this for Adobe Livecycle Designer ES4 and I am having the same problems as you. The only thing that happens is when you "contact support" it takes you to a community forum.

Can someone please answer how to contact Adobe Support to access a QF for products? As I paid a lot of money for this product it is ridiculous that the links for "support" give you the run around and don't lead anywhere.

Thank you for the response. I looked at the tool you suggested and am not sure if it was due to my own lack of skills/abilities or if the file was too far corrupted to salvage but when I opened the document up in using the "PDF Stream Dumper" I did not see anything useful that could be used to recover the coding.

On a happy note, I was able to recover the document from a previous version which helped but I still lost 1/2 of my coding. So not a complete loss other than the time I lost in development.

Also, make sure to set the correct Transaction Isolation Level in SQl Server as READ_COMMITTED_SNAPSHOT set to ON : Adobe LiveCycle ES4 * 5.4 Creating a SQL Server database

The failed LCAs are related to Launchpad which is a desktop application to access LiveCycle services, so could be skipped for now. You can remove those LCAs from adminui and re deploy them again from C:\Adobe\Adobe LiveCycle ES4\deploy.

If that doesn't work, drop the database and bootstrap the database using LCM again(If you are going to use Launchpad).

I uninstalled and re-installed Java and was able to validate the data sources. However, I’m currently on the “Component Deployment” phase. All the jar files seemed to deploy successfully except for the lca files. I’m receiving the following:

Failed to deploy LCA C:\Adobe\Adobe LiveCycle ES4\deploy\adobe-livecycle-launchpad.lca

In case you see the datsources in Websphere Console and you are able to test them successfully, but LCM fails the validation, you can ignore that and proceed to the next step. Here is one related thread : failing the datasource validation

Firstly, make sure you are on a supported platform specially Websphere : LiveCycle Help | Adobe LiveCycle ES4 Supported Platforms (check out ES4/ES4SP1 differences).

I've been attempting to deploy ES4 on Windows 2008R2, SQL Server 2008R2 (which is on a separate server), ontop of IBM WebSphere 8.5. I've followed the current Adobe ES4 instructions but I cannot get past the "Datasource Validation" step, receiving the following error:

Designer ES4 blows up after reopening

After installing LiveCycle Designer ES4, version 11 on an HP ProBook 4320s...the program blows up after closing & reopening. I've done various installation gyrations...installing from both C: & network locations, running Setup as Administrator and not.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated!!

How did you get this software originally? It may have come with Adobe Acrobat. If you have Acrobat, chances are you can reinstall LiveCycle.

If you don't mind getting your hands dirty, Google "PDF Stream Dumper". You might be able to extract the XFA streams and recreate the document that way.

On a whim I changed my Server Role on MS SQL to "sysadmin" and it worked! Clearly this cannot be the proper setting though. What should my Server Role be? The instructions I followed did not have me make any changes in that area of SQL and thus I was left with "Public". Any guidance would be appreciated.
