Thanks Phillip for getting back.

I have looked at IPP V3 script and the Bridge CS6 SDK SnpOpeninPhotoshop.jsx script.

I find them overwhelming and not easy to extract the functionality that I ma trying to build.

Will try again to see if I can get further.

BTW,

I have been using a the batchStack. jsx bridge you posted on the Bridge script forum.

I found your script very useful. Thanks for the contribution.

It's better to access the Bridge files from Photoshop, there are a couple of scripts that will exceed what you are asking, or they will be a good foundation for any code that you want.

I have done that, but for some reason that feature is not working in my copy of Bridge.

Not to mention, I need to do this on thousands of images. That is why the subfolder feature would be helpful.

However, I also thought about creating a collection with all of the images in it.

There is no need to modify the script as it works on selected files, all you need to do is have "show Items from Subfolders" ticked in the view menu and select the files you want the script to modify.

I would like to ask for help in planning a Bridge script.

I am a beginner Photoshop and Bridge developer.

Script behavior:

Check for selected thumbnail

Open the selected thumbnail/s from Bridge in Photoshop.

Run a set of Photoshop actions

Save the changes to the file

Close the file

How do I approach these tasks programmatically?

What are the sequence of events to necessary to execute the script?

Applying photoshop scripting as a model I can come up with this sequence which can be scripted with the if else statement.

I am thinking the Folder dialog is not correct for this application.

On a second thought a persistent dialog to set the save folder path and run the script from the persistent dialog can make sense.

Any ideas?

Has anyone had success using more advanced pieces of regex to properly rename strings? I want to Capitalize the 3rd back reference in a file name, and although I believe I'm following the proper way of doing so via Replacement Text Case Conversion, Bridge is just giving me a capital U instead. Please see what I am doing below. Additionally, does anyone know what flavor regex Bridge uses? Thanks!

Some file name with foreign character like à è ì ò ù À È Ì Ò Ù. Want to replace with others and for this str.replace(/à/g, '1OeL1') use this js function but this function can't recognize those character.
How can i recognize those character with adobe js. please help me in this regards. i'm working on adobe bridge cs5.

I need to produce screenshots of swf files. I'm having no luck getting the FlashExportToJepg script, included in the Adobe Bridge CS6 SDK, working. It doesn't error, it just doesn't produce the jpeg.

I wrote this short script to try to identify the problem. It produces a jpeg from the preview when an image is selected – but not for a swf.

I am using a custom Bridge script to load stacks into photoshop layers.

Every time I run the script I have to change the folder path manually to save the images in a new folder.

I would like to find out if a UI dialog can be used with the script to edit the folder path.

The UI dialog would offer to use the previous folder path or to enter/select a new folder location.

I have not been able to incorporate the core Javascript class Folder successfully with the Bridge script.

The scripts hangs, does not complete when I add the core JS Folder class.

How do I approach building a script UI in Bridge?

Are there any simple Bridge script UI samples available to deconstruct?

I used to use extensis portfolio to quickly export metadata from selected files to create print worksheets. I could customize which metadata would be displayed.

For instance:

Thumbnail

pixels

file type

date created and modified

height and width

dpi

embedded icc profile

file location

iptc description

It was a quick drag and drop process, but portfolio is now only available in the server edition for over $1000. Does anyone have script for Mac OS that would accomplish this?

Perhaps someone with advanced Bridge scripting knowledge can help construct the script. My knowledge of Bridge scripting is limited.

I have ben using the Dr.Browns's Place-A-Matic script i my composting workflow. I can also achieve the same compositing file structure using the Bridge >> Tools >> Load Files into Photoshop Layers which might simplify the scripting process.

I can only help you with the code specific for Bridge.

I have never used Dr.Browns services Place-A-Matic 8bit tool and I can't figure how to integrate it inside another script.

Still, I think you must use BridgeTalk to send the code related to photoshop from Bridge to Photoshop. I can't help you with that.

Pedro,

I am compositing hundreds of tif images. The work flow stars by making collection stack in Bridge. Then I open the stack with Dr.Browns services Place-A-Matic 8bit tool. Next, apply a photoshop action. Finally, close and save the new layered image.

I am trying to find out if this process can be automated.

The ideal workflow would include opening each image stack one at time, run the photoshop action, close the file and then proceed to open the next image stack in the Bridge collection.

I am not clear how to build this work flow yet.

So far it occurred to customize Dr.Brown's Services Place-A-Matic script by adding a run action command at the end of the script.

Dr.Browns Services is listed under the Bridge >> preferences >> startup scripts but it is not in the Bridge Startup Script folder.

The first step would be to find the script in my local system.

Any other ideas?

There is a simpler way of doing this (if the curve is always the same).

1. do it over a single image and click Done on ACR plugin;

2. select its Bridge thumbnail with right-button > Develop Settings > Copy Settings (or use keyborad shortcut CTRL+ALT+C)

3. Select all the other images you want to apply the curve settings;

4. right-click them and > Develop Settings > Paste Settings (or use keyborad shortcut CTRL+ALT+V) and make sure the curves are included. Click OK.

5. Done.

ps you can also delete all settings from a group of thumbnails with the same logic: right-click them and > Develop Settings > Clear Settings

I would start editing the processed images through photoshop scripting.

There are already several anwsers to this on the photoshop script forum.

The listeners on photoshop will work to auto-start any action when you use 'Open'.

Unfurtunetly, there is not a listener to the 'OpenInCameraRaw', this took me crazy for years!

So Photoshop can't detect automatically when a image was just opened from the use of the CameraRaw plugin.

J'ai cherché cet argument par tous mais j'ai rien trouvé donc je pose ici la question.

Depuis Javier 2014 j'ai une gopro qui chaque jour prend une photo chaque minute, maintenant (21 septembre 2014) j'aimerais pouvoir voir le timelapse final, mais vu qu'il s'agit d'un timelapse d'un chantier, l'action se passe du lundi au vendredi de 8h00 à 18h00, vu que le timelapse est assez énorme, je cherche un moyen pour sélectionner que les photos qu'il sont été crée dans cette plage horaire. j'ai vu que sur bridge existe la possibilité de créer des collections smart, mais on peut juste définir la plage de date.

Donc est ce que existe un moyen pour améliorer la recherche de bridge pour lui ajouter un filtre horaire???

J’espère que ma question soit assez compréhensible, je ne suis pas français.

When in Bridge under the Filter tab-->Focal length what I have listed is 5mm, 5.8mm, 6mm, 6.2mm, 6.3mm, 6.5mm etc. etc. and the list goes on and on. The conclusion being that this list is way too lo0ng to serve as a good filter to me.

I sold all of my lenses 2 years ago and replaced them with one zoom lens (and at times a pocket camera also with a zoom). I couldn't care less if the photo was taken at 6mm or 6.2mm. To me they are just about the same thing. However, I would like it if it actually game me a range say 5mm-10mm; 10.1 mm-15mm etc. Now the filter makes sense to me being more manageable. Is there any way of making it so?

In other words I no longer want to see:

5.8mm,

6mm,

6.2mm,

6.3mm,

6.5mm

But would like instead to see:

5mm--10mm

10.1mm--15mm

15.1mm--20mm

Which are in increments of 5, BUT, increments of 10 would be fine as well or even better.

I did these a while back. ID files do let you click the link icon top right and let you collect links per file.. Adding a loop to selection should be relatively easy...

AI does not get these icons because of a missing bag in the file XMP.

It depends on how you want Bridge to interact with your objectives.

You might want to use SDK code to have buttons on a panel on Bridge.

These buttons can read the pre-selected image thumbnails, and get jpgs sorter images on the Temp folder.

Then a window could open for you to put the e-mail title and the subject and click 'send'

For now I have no much time to code this, sorry.

I would like to create a Smart Collection that finds all of the image files linked to InDesign documents in a specific folder.
I am the yearbook advisor at school and I need to easily find all of the images that have been placed so that we don't reuse images by mistake.

I have no scripting experience, so I can't create something myself, and I haven't been able to find anything that does such a thing.

Many yearbook design software programs do offer something like this - indicating that an image has been used previously.

I guess it would need to look at the metadata of the InDesign Files for the Linked Files and then pit all of the files found there into a Smart Collection. Ideally, I would be able to further limit it by file type. ANd to not include Master pages if so desired (although that would just be a bonus!)

I greatly appreciate any assistance anyone can give.

can i send emails directly from bridge cs6 or cc directly from bridge?

i found this scripts http://kb2.adobe.com/community/publishing/894/cpsid_89450.html

but i run cs6 and cc under windows 7 sp1 64bit and windows 8.1 64bit

and i have thunderbird email client

is there a way to make it work?

maybe i can install another email client

You can't add a custom color, but you can add custom labels which will flag the photos with a white label in the content pane.

th=new Thumbnail(File);

th.label=MyLabel;

MyLabel is simply a text string. For each file that you set with a custom label, the label will show as a blank white label for the image file. However, if you open up your filter panel and filter by Labels, each custom label you set will be listed so you can choose the filter to view only those images.

For example, as part of my work flow I give the clients the option to choose the order that they would like me to finish their photos. They do this on my website which creates a simple text file that lists their choices in the order they picked. My script then downloads the text file and iterates through it line by line labeling each image file in order with "Edit 1" "Edit 2" "Edit 3" "Edit 4" etc. Then I look in my Filter panel under the Labels section and they are all listed there. You can have more than one image file with the same label name.

Dear adobe community,

My question is whether or not Bridge can automatically search through an archive of folders and convert any TIFF or DNG files into jpeg format. I am just starting this venture and am wondering where to get started in the scripting SDK or if there are other resources at our disposal.
