Adobe Story also works on our Toshiba Chromebook 2 we just purchased to try out here at the studio. I had to refresh the page because it wouldn't load right away but that's not a problem limited to that machine

There was some issue with our backend.

We have fixed it now.

You should now be able to accept sharing invites without any issues.

Hi,

There's seems to be some issue at the our end. Although the project sharing is accepted, there's still a failure shown to the user and the project doesn't appear. The user will have to sign in again and the project should be there.

We are investigating the issue.

Same problem here. I've tried it with two different projects to three different people. I've tried sharing the projects and just the scripts within them to no avail. Every time I try I get a "failed to share" error. What's up with this?

I made a new project and it won't let me share saying, "Project contains documents that are not owned by you. You need to move the owned documents to a new project and share the new one." which I know isn't true because I just made it. How do I solve this

Hey guys, I just found something weird...

I'm using Mac. Copy-paste do work!!!!

Supposedly, copy and paste is CMD+C and CMD+V, as it says in the Edit menu... nope! For the mac, it's Windows version, Copy is CTRL+C and CTRL+V for paste. Just tried it out of frustration, and voila. Bug unlocked!

Although it is tricky to constantly change from CTRL and CMD everytime I change apps.

Hello,

I do not have Adobe Story Plus. And sorry to say that I don't understand your response or what it is that I need to do. I have spoken to 2 phone reps and 2 chat reps. The phone reps said I had to contact the chat reps, and the chat reps said I need to call the phone reps.

I need someone to call me as this has been going on since Sunday. 732-757-7629.

I am also having this same issue and I have shared the project to sunny at adobe.com. I am a paid subscriber also sharing with a paid subscriber. I am getting an email response as the shared person has rejected the invitation. When someone else shares the project with me; there is no notifications.

Adobe story messed up umlauts ä-ü-ö-...

When importing a German script into Adobe Story Free the umlauts get messed up. They are left out or are shown as signs then. This happens with PDFs and .mmsw files.I am using PC. IS this only affecting the free Version or is Adobe not ready for German?

Thanks for the confirmation. Any idea if this functionality may be coming in a future update? In its current form the entire program is counter-intuitive if you're coming from other software packages.

Sorry, but we currently do not have these two functionality in the Editor. i.e. Cut, Copy and Paste options in the Right Click menu and using Shift-Insert to paste.

Hi,

Story AIR application (the desktop app) is available if you are on Story Plus subscription. The certificate mismatch issue appears because the latest Story AIR app is signed with a new certificate and is not compatible with the certificate used to sign the Story AIR app that is already on the system and hence the upgrade fails. This (certificate mismatch) would happen if the desktop app has not been updated recently.

If you are on Story Plus subscription, you can upgrade to the latest Story AIR app by following the steps below:

Un-install the existing Story AIR app from your system.
From a browser such as Chrome or Firefox, navigate to https://story.adobe.com and login using your credentials
Click ‘Install Desktop Application’ to install the Story AIR app

When I launch Story (Free) from the desktop dock (Mac / Yosemite), I cannot log in or update, and receive the attached error. I've contacted Adobe by email twice and by phone twice - the chat reps say I have to contact the phone reps, and the phone reps say I have to contact the chat reps. Hurumf. What is the workaround here?

I would love Story to have a CeltX importer as well. The only way to import CeltX files are through a messy PDF.

A TV series I'm hoping to write for uses Adobe Story and, having spent a while using the free browser version, I've just gone for a monthly subscription - partly to have a separate desktop client, and partly because I hoped that this would bring Story's copying and pasting conventions into line with other Windows programs (e.g. Final Draft and Word, both of which I have used extensively over many years). I've never used Ctrl-x, Ctrl-c and Ctrl-v for pasting, preferring to select text with mouse or keyboard, right click copy or cut, and then paste with shift-Ins (0 on the numpad).

But even in Story Plus there are no editing functions if one selects text and then right clicks, and neither does shift-Insert work. I'm forced to use Ctrl-x, Ctrl-c and Ctrl-v, as per the Web version. Is there any way round this? Is this going to be enabled in a future version? At the moment, I must say, it's hard to see the subscription surviving into a second month - it's great having a desktop client, but it's no easier to use than the free version.

A native iPad app with full integration would be welcome indeed. It seems beyond reason that such a thing doesn't already exist. The device would be perfectly suited to the task.

Instead of a 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. format of numbering there are random sub numbers. Like this, 1, 2, 2A, 2B, 3, 4, 5, 5A.... etc. It seems to be random and I can't get it to go away. Please help me format my script so that this doesn't happen. I have never had this problem before.

I don't know what is causing it. Just huge random gaps in the text, as if I held down the enter button. I can't delete the space and it won't go away no matter what I do. I can't type in the blank space either. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Here is an example.... anyone know what this is?? It is all throughout the script and ranges in size.

The Story App is still available. It is iPhone only, so you may need to search for it on the iPhone or in iTunes using the iPhone tab. Story has not been abandoned and is still in development. Yeah, I'm going to second this sentiment. The iPhone app has been abandoned for roughly two years, and the hinted at iPad app never came to fruition.

I do find it off-putting that for all the other amazing things that Adobe accomplishes with its software on both desktop and mobile, a text-centric application like Story Plus CC is so hamstrung that its native desktop version requires Adobe Air to run, and it is inoperable in any form on mobile.

Not to be a downer, but the great bits of Story Plus CC are overshadowed by some serious foundational problems. Any word from the team regarding this stuff would be nice.

How can I convert a screenplay document into a multicolumn script?

It seems like that you already have an existing installation of Story.

Please first uninstall the existing version of Adobe Story from Control Panel and then try to install the latest one.

AV Script: When I press "Enter" in Video Column, it creates a new scene

I am making a script with an 2 column AV format and I cannot seem to hit "enter" in the video column without creating a new scene.

For example, I'll start with "CUT TO:", then hit enter - which creates a new scene when all I wanted to do was write what I wanted to cut to.

The thing is, I have already written 4 pages of this script and I don't remember having this problem (one would think that I remember something like that), so maybe I am just missing something obvious from not enough sleep haha

I would like it as well, as I'm sure would many producers working on television documentaries, which almost all use left/right columns. I think there's a bigger market out there and that you miss a great many by only thinking in terms of "AV" or "Corporate."

I've been writing and producing documentaries for decades and really would appreciate you all upgrading this format. I would use it then. As it is now it's just not worth the effort.

Mobile app gone

Hi,

I know there was once an IOS app that didn't allow editing, but seriously surely of all the Adobe CC apps this is the one that makes most sense to have a functioning script editor for ipads and android?

Is there any news on this being in development? Not being able to edit a script or work on notes on the move makes the whole of Adobe Story pretty unusable to be honest.

So I downloaded from the link and here is the error I get:

"Sorry, an error has occurred.

The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author."

So what should I do now?

I'll give this a try & report back but I just installed Story for the first ever on Oct 24 (the date of my original post) and I installed it by following the link from story.adobe.com. Is the version you're linking to different than the version the Story homepage is linking to? Are you sure that Air is updated to be compatible with Yosemite (Mac OS 10.10)?

Hi,

There are two ways to get rid of the extra entry -

1) Use character lists as then the drop down is populated from the list only. (Lists are available for paid customers only).

2) Make sure that all the occurrences of that extra entry in your script are deleted , then save and reopen your document. The entries which are not used in your script will now be removed from the drop down.

Please give it a try and let me know if it works for you. Else send across the stdoc (File->Save to disk) of your document at DL-AdobeStory-support<at>adobe<dot>com so that I can have a look at it.

It seems like you already have an old installation of Story.

You will have to remove it first before installing the latest one.

So the steps would be:

- Open 'Applications' folder in finder and move 'Adobe Story' app to Trash. Remove it from Trash too.

- Search 'Adobe Story' in Spotlight to make sure that this application is not installed on a different drive. If installed then remove that version too.

- Now download the latest version and install it. ( you can download the installer directly from: https://story.adobe.com/AIR/AdobeStory.air )

There is an option to insert 'Sound Elements' (in Production menu) in the script. These elements get added vertically to the right side of the script.

This could be similar to what you are looking for.

- First update the flash player plugin ( http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer )

and then make sure that your browser is able to display flash content. To check this you can visit this site: Adobe - Flash Player

Here you should be able to observe the 'Version Information' box.

Now visit Adobe Story again in the browser and login.

The 'St Adobe Story' animation page is a place-holder page while browser is downloading the Adobe Story application in the background. (application is of nearly 3 MB in size)

- If you are still stuck on that page after few minutes then you can try the following to make sure that this is not an issue related to cache/cookies.

- Open New Private Browsing Window of the browser ( In Chrome the option is 'New Incognito Window' )

- Visit Adobe Story in that window, login and wait few minutes for application to load.

- If you are able to login in this window then please clear your browser's cache and cookies (How do I clear my web browser's cache, cookies, and history?)

- If it is still stuck, then please try to update your browser. ( or may be install a new browser, say firefox, and try on that one )

The availability of Story Plus is dependent on the Subscription Plan a user has for Creative Cloud. For some plans(like Education), Story plus in not available currently. Story free is available to all users.
