Classroom in a Book

Hello, I am a new user to After Effects. I bought the creative suite a while back and now have some extra time to learn it.

I want to but the After Effects CS 5 Classroom in A Book for as an ebook, but before I spend the money I would like to know if there will be a link for me to download the chapter files. I Anyone have an answer?

Hi rtrobr and JDK609,

We just heard back from the Adobe TV engineers. They hope to have a fix for the “Save” button being broken by end of this week, or sooner. In the meantime, you can save a video to your library by clicking the plus(+) button for the video in the “My Library” column on the show page. See the screenshot below.

so, I don't really care who did it, but it's been a while since I went to a reputable company's website and was so dismayed by it's f*cked up panels floating in a semi-transparent way over the things I'm trying to see. What, the f*ck.

All Help seems to do is open a browser search page with related items.

Can't save AdobeTV tutorials to My Library.

I have started using Adobe TV and am enjoying the tutorials but I can't save them to My Library.

I am logged in (It says I am) but the word Save Tab under the video and next to Translation is inactive.

The cursor turns to a hand but clicking has no effect. My Library is empty. I have tried this on two separate days.

Is there another Save to Library button? I searched the page but the word "Save" only occurs once.

If I click on Translations, that works.

It appears adobe help manager can no longer access help pdfs to automatically update. The UPDATE button is grayed out. I downloaded some manually. It still doesn't work when you put them in the correct directory and hit F1 within a CS6 program. Very frustrating Adobe, please fix. Offline help is basic functionality. I wish you would go back to the original help program rather than just giving us a .pdf manual.

Kirsti Aho After signing up to Creative Cloud only last week, I received a popup message on my Macbook Pro (not in an internet browser) asking me to confirm my Adobe ID. After clicking on the popup, it took me to the following URL: https://adobeid-na1.services.adobe.com/. I signed in with my e-mail address and password, but now, hours later, I have yet to receive a confirmation e-mail. It seems odd to me and I'm worried it may have been a scam of some sort. Is it possible to check whether Adobe has any records of a message being sent or of any changes in my account?

To unsubscribe, please navigate to the forum that you're receiving the notifications from: in your case After Effects

At the top right, click the button that says following and make sure all options are unchecked.

Alternatively, you can turn off ALL notifications by clicking your avatar at the top right, Preferences, and turning all email notifications to OFF.

I found how to unfollow everyone, yet I am being inundated with afterFXs threads! (I would have posted this in a Jive community, but I didn't see one)

I checked the Jive documentation, but could find an answer. The documentation is not great IMO. The slow response time I experience when navigating from page to page to page on this forum makes finding /exploring Jive features very painful.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Buenas noches disculpe me gustaria saber si alguien puede resolverme una duda, lo que pasa es que mi photoshop esta super lento, pero solo cuando quiero aplicar un degradado o color en una capa tarda muchisimo en aplicarse y friza toda la compu, antes que pasara eso lo estaba usando perfectamente pero cundo quise creaar un nuevo ya se empeso a trabar .

I know this is a really old thread, but this is worth mentioning. Those files he's referring to get saved into not just the User's folder, but into the roaming part of the user's folder. The idea behind a roaming profile is that when a user logs off, the profile gets copied to a server and then when the user logs into any other PC on the network, that profile gets copied to the new PC. Pretty cool for when a PC burns up and the user needs to get back to work quickly. Settings, shortcuts, etc. follow the user to the new PC. There is also a non-roaming part of the user's profile that sticks to the user only on that PC. Roaming profiles work great until some software manufacturer thinks it appropriate to save a gig of help file data per user on the file servers. Developers: please stop using %appdata%. Use %localappdata% if that data isn't mission critical to the user.

YES! It does help.Thank you very much. I changed the setting yesterday but side tracked before I see the online content works. So in general scope, yes it takes me to the online help center, which gives me options for more "community" answers. So yes, thank you for making me look further.

However, I really was a fan of the local help that looked like and felt like the user manuals produced by Adobe, not just blogs, and more message boards. So I am still partially dismayed that I take the time to download and update the local help files, but can't use them. And wish Adobe would just fix the problem, so I can have immediate access to user manuals without having to surf all over for answers. Perhaps this is a novice thought, but I liked reading it in manual formats provided by the amnufacture of the software.

Thanks again though for the help and it will just have to get used to this method. UNLESS you can tell me good news of something else I am missing?

BUT I am connected to the internet, getting emails, web surfing, no problem... yet ADOBe HELP continues to not load and tell me there is a problem. I am not wifi connected but network connected. So then what is the problem in this case?

I have had this problem for years and truly sick of it! I have no convenient way to access and learn about changes in apps between CS3 and 6 could really use a working HELP!!

I am new to this; digital photography, CS6 and this forum. So please excuse my clumsiness. Somewhere there is a list of all the information I should post with my question. I do not know how to access this list. So, this is my first inquiry. How do I become more fluent in this forum?

I have been struggling for over a year trying to get my prints to look anything like what I see on my screen.

Adobe phone help was entirely useless. Epson has been patient but not necesarily helpful. Today, in my tenth phone session with them, we may have stumbled upon something. Rep had me print my test print in Photoshop. Awful, as usual. Then he had me print the same print in Preview. Much closer (tho not perfect) to the true color. He said the problem is with Photoshop.

I am too new at this to guess at his accuracy. But the printing through Preview was an eye-opener. The printer can print somewhat accurate to screen version.

Please tell me what info is needed to post an informative question and where to access this list of information. I have a 14 month pileup of photos I would like to print but cannot proceed. HELP.

CS6, I am not working in RAW (That is a whole other universe of confusion for me.)

I understand that this course is borrowed from Linda.com. Do I need to subscribe to Linda in order to download those files or can I Download it from the Adobe tutorial page?

Over the last 9 years as a private individual, I have spent over $8000 on adobe products. Every time anything goes wrong, the only reply I get is it will cost you. I have to put up with the ridicules exchange rate, and excuses that downloading the same product worldwide is dramatically different. Its not that I get anything but US English. What is that by the way, I live in England, we speak English.. So today like any other I am trying to get a simple thing like Acrobat to read a file without constant warnings, I mean I have bought the product more than 5 times but this does not matter. So I try to get through to customer support. An oxymoron in this case). Have been on a phone line now for 27min no luck, just the same incredibly poor music drifting in and out so you think you may have lost contact. When your customers pay so much for the privilege of using your product, stop crapping on their heads....

I've been told for months that I'm eligible by Adobe and in fact i wasn't. The online chat support has their information wrong.

Adobe Hong Kong, for its reasons, does in fact discriminate part-time students.

Adobe Hong Kong has heard my situation and staff have been pleasant dispite my bitter attidude. Sorry for that, Patrick.

Try this two part solution:

Part I: Setup Adobe Help to use offline help content (if exists) as source instead of configured online help

1. Start Adobe Help.exe if installed on your machine with CS6 products. I found it installed on my Win7 machine at C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Help\Adobe Help.exe. It will open the Adobe Help Manager preferences.

2. Select "Yes" radio button for "General Settings" > "Display Local Help content only:"

Part II: Download and configure offline help (PDF) for your product from adobe.com site.

1. Read the "Use offline Help in Adobe products" | http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/offline-help.html KB to download PDF for your CS6 or current CC version help.

2. After downloading the PDF locally follow the section "Use the Help PDF from within your Adobe product" to place the PDFs on your machine so that it works with Adobe product.

As mentioned on the KB.

You haven't helped me at all. It appears like you didn't read my posts at all which describe my problem. You simply forwarded a reseller to me. That was not helpful nor is it a solution.

I'm still waiting...And here's what I want to know once again..I'm aware you can read the past posts but it seems like you don't like spending the time.

1) In general, are part-time student eligible in Hong Kong? ( your distributor told me quite clearly that part-time student are not eligible. While Adobe Chat reps have said part-time student are eligible.)

Which is it?

2) Here are the spces of my program:
My programme: postgraduate diploma program/QF Level 6/1-year/part-time/216 hours
Institution: Hong Kong University School of Professional and Continuing Education

I was told by Identit-E that my program qualifies as equivalent to 2 years study.

In Hong Kong, does my program match North American standards of equivalent to 2 years?

Does my program program qualify me for educational pricing?

Hi, nothingdark,

The reason you're not seeing subtitles on this video is that it doesn't have any. I'm sorry it doesn't have that capability. There are a number of vidoes on Adobe TV without subtitles.

You can tell which videos do have subtitles by looking for a "CC" button on the bottom right of the video window.

Even with direct contact to Adobe Hong Kong nobody can answer me.

He replied to my emails but hasn't offered an answer...he introduced me to resellers before confirming if I qualify.

My threads have been up for weeks and it seems like he didn't read any of the posts.

Not to keep adding, but for the average poster or mod, reading my complaint/problem is optional.

But, if someone who works for Adobe as a employee, I expect he/she reads every post to see what's the problem rather than just indroduce me to another reseller....that wasn't my problem.

sigh....as mentioned many, many times above. And in my email I sent you....over an hour ago.

Here's the situation once again...

I'm interested in the cs6 master collection. (I'll admit, I didn't initially mention the product in my other posts.)
I want to know whether or not I qualify.

My programme: postgraduate diploma program/QF Level 6/1-year/part-time/216 hours
Institution: Hong Kong University School of Professional and Continuing Education

-I had contacted Adobe Chat (3 times) they could only confirmed that part-time students are eligible.
-I had posted a question on the Adobe forums about whater or not HKU SPACE would qualify for for educational pricing.
Adobe Worldwide Education Programs repsonded and confirmed HKU SPACE is eligible.
-I had spoken to Identit-E, they handle student verification in North America, they confirmed that my program would qualify as equivalent to 2 years study. However, they had told me that in Hong Kong Identit-E does not handle student verification.

I phoned the Adobe Hong Kong office.
A woman answered and asked what I wanted. I told her I want to confirm my student eligibility. She gave me these 2 numbers to call to confirm my eligiblity.

2832 9322 - didn't answer the phone.
2565 1682 - the woman on the line repeatedly told me that part-time students didn't qualify. I had told her that Adobe Reps. online told me that part-time students are eligible. However, she stook to her stance and said only full time students. I do not have her name.

Dear Adobe and Worldwide Education Program Manager,

Due to the lack of response I assume, yes, Adobe Hong Kong does in fact HATE part-time students.

Adobe has been constantly telling me, part-time students are eligible but Adobe Hong Kong is either incompetent in following/reading/interpreting guidleines or Adobe online staff aren't given the appropriate information on other regions around the world and is giving me false information.

Which is it?
