It is not possible to restore it. You could send a ticket to BC, they may have a method we dont know about but I very much doubt it,

Hi all, I don't think this can done, but I would have thought it a basic function of the reports system. I want a report of customers who have spent >$500 who's (delivery) address is in a particular postcode - or even state would be fine. Or even something simpler like trying to find that order from 2 weeks ago that was sent to that particular postcode.?

Custom Reports-Customers and Orders-select criteria (incl shipping address)-Filter criteria-and voila, this where we come to a halt.

Lots of limited use fields here really....eg Country, Order owned by, .....but no state or postcode.

What is a girl to do?

Hey Guys, I had a CRM Form under the "Extend CRM Module" named "Personal Details" that was inadvertently removed.

Is there an easy way to recover that? I'm not sure it was in use anywhere but would like to restore it regardless if possible.

I've manually re-added it but have no idea what field were in the form.

CRM is SOAP API so you need to send all information to have it update, otherwise it blanks it.

So there are some pitfalls, Also with BC it is recommended to do data in chunks rather then trying to do it all at the same time. Bar that if you have guys who code your API solution it should be fine.

We're considering BC for our small business. Have created a test account and spent hours on a test drive. But we haven't been able to answer one question: If we use the CRM module to gather customer data, Is there a way to set up an automatic sync with the home-grown enterprise system we're building for our family of companies? BC offers some documentation on its API. But has anyone successfully created a method to export/import data via the API? If so, how difficult was it?

CRM Activity Report

I need a report in BC to show all the contacts in the CRM with name, contact information, company name and a list of their activity (opened email, clicked on link, etc). There is a list of the Activity in the Activity tab under each contact but I am unable to run a report with the information. I realize that there is no set Custom form with Activity (they forgot to ask sales and marketing what they really need on these report).

The only alternative I know is to download the entire database which should include the Activity -- but I don't see a way to do that.

WHY would they not include this report as standard? It is much more valuable to a sales and marketing team than some of the other goofy reports. We want our sales staff to reach out to be able to rate and score each contact based on their level of activity and then have sales follow-up. For example if someone opened an email campaign 10 times in two days and click the same link 4 times, they would make an excellent prospect to follow-up with a phone call. But it's pretty hard to make this happen without a report.

Any ideas?

I have a number of different forms by which a user can create a CRM customer record. Essentially, we want to mark users as being a customer or a partner (partners get a different secure zone). Depending on which form they use to sign up I would like to pre-populate the Customer type field on the CRM customer record.

I initially thought that this would be an easy job of dropping the customer field on the web form as a hidden field with a default value. However I haven't been able to find a way of adding the CustomerType field to a web form. We do not want to have to amend these all manually from the admin console.

How do others manage this process, I feel like I am looking at it in the wrong way.

Will that always be the case?

If so, in the System Messages layouts there is one called - UpdateDetailsConfirmation

In there you can add the other form.

Our E-commerce site sells furniture and as such we will have customer service claims or reports filed, all sales are made through a secure zone as are any service requests.. I would like the customer to be able to choose which of their past orders the claim relates to and which product code from the existing product listing it relates to.. any ideas on how I can go about this??

I know that it is possible to set up a secure access zone, but is it possible to set up a zone that customers can login to that will provide them with information specific to them? For instance, can it be set up through Bc for a customer to login and see an account balance, test scores, etc. (but only theirs)? Thanks for you help.

There is a method with the API as Liam suggested, but if get "blank" (or some sort of other) info on the return can't you just check for this with an AJAX call? It's re-inventing the wheel and should be something BC handles but it might fix your issue.

It wont create an account, it will add the order to the same customer entry in the system. I know its a nice to have and Pretty has built an API solution we use for some use cases to do that but it wont screw up anything in your system if you do it right.

Create and account.

We have customers create an account to be able to make a purchase, but if you CREATE an ACCOUNT (instead of logging in), we get no error. It just goes blank as if nothing has happened.

I'd expect the system to kick out something like "account exists, did you forget your password?" or something like that.

When I "create an account" and enter details, IF the email is already in the system, I get NO error and NOTHING happens.

Is there a way to set the system to warn a user that an account already exists to avoid confusion?

Thank you for your response!! I checked out some of the third part Text Messaging services, and they all seem great, but without integration into the BC system I do not think they will help. So you may be my own personal hero if this turns out to be possible. What we have now is a Newsletter sign-up that allows the visitor to select which classes they want to follow (Spinning, Aerobics, Cycling, Weight Lifting, etc). Once they submit the sign-up they are added to the appropriate mailing list.

Ideally we want to be able to text the people who have signed up for a particular class. For example, we are in NH, so snow days are common. If there is a snow day and the class is canceled or the gym will be closing early, they would like to send out an alert. Which I imagine can work great with an external service by selecting the Mailing List (Spinning, Aerobics, Cycling, Weight Lifting, etc) and sending a text message to the subscribers. Is this possible with what you are thinking?

Also, what happens with new sign-ups. Will the mailing lists simply have the SMS capability or will there be some kind of work around?

And lastly, because I don't want to waste too much of your time, I REALLY appreciate all the help you have offered already. How much would your solution be? I would need to start working on approvals.

As part of my Business I run a SMS Text Messaging Service which can do exactly what you need. I don't have a direct integration into BC (though I do build sites on BC). But it would be easy enough to insert the data into the system. Also we might could do an API integration with BC.

If it's not too many people and just off the top of my head I think the easiest would be to find an email to SMS service so you could just use the CRM to SMS people. I googled and there seemed to be a few out there.

The alternative would be building something using a webservices API or the notification API to fire off the SMS once something was entered in the CRM or a form for example.

I have a client that teaches classes. Each class has its own mailing list. In the event of a canceled class, the client would like to send out SMS Text messages.

Hi there,

As I mentioned, when a form is filled (Email is always required) then this the contact is added to the CRM.

You can not render the CRM on the front end as I think you will want. You would have to look to form web apps and display things that way.

Please note that Muse is a designer tool and has limited scope in terms of its functionality compared to building a full rich website, So you will reach certain walls with what your doing.

Muse is only really designed for graphically building the more basic to visual websites, not really for more complex sites.

Most websites are created from design to developers using platforms such as DW and into systems like BC with good flow. Not really sure exactly what you are asking? You asking can Muse basically do all the things? Wont be something Muse will be able to do, the nature of software is not able to cover what you can do with coding.

We are building a membership site using Adobe MUSE. We are also using Business Catalyst to build the CRM customer database. We are using this as an alternative to MySQL since there is no direct connection between MySQL and MUSE. The only work around we know is to export the MUSE website to HTML. Import that HTML into Adobe DREAMWEAVER and the build the connections that way. This is time consuming and prone to errors as this does not create a flow in both system and data manipulation design.

We would like so home in creating, maintaining and performing searching on the database we create in Business Catalyst.

I have extended my CRM and I want the fields I have added to be appended to "Companies". When I create a web form with these extended fields and embed it on my website, the input is submited but is recorded for a Company data entry, but all my custom field inputs just get lost. Now, if I do the same thing with a "Customer" data entry (extend my CRM, create web form, embed it, and test), the inputs for the custom fields I have added are recorded to that entry. Why doesn't this work the same way for Companies? Is there something I can do to fix this problem? Please advise.

I've been thinking about this scenario on my current project.

The only reason people join our site is to gain access to premium content (lessons). When that access expires, so does their access to clicking on the hidden form button you've proposed which would subscribe them to the "upgrade/renew" securezone (ie: "Click here to upgrade/renew").

So, it seems, upon signing up for a regular membership, I'd have to immediately present the new member with an obvious button which says "ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT" (even though it is already active), and, by clicking this button he/she would then be subscribed to the non-expiring "upgrade" securezone. This seems risky, since someone may never bother to click activate.

Which leaves, somehow Ajaxing someone in to the upgrade securezone upon their initial membership signup.

Am I understanding correctly? Or can somone point out a better way to do this?

Hi,

There will be one set of password to gain access to secure zones for each contact. Based on their zone access the login will allow them to access. So to answer your question it's yes contacts can sign up to a secure zone through a web form or your site admin can grant access for them.

To many of you experts out there this may be a rather dumb question but I am just trying to get the answer verified before I go back to my client with the information. I have a client that wants to have a portion of his site set up as a secure zone "for members only". He wants each member to use their email as their ID but be able to set their own unique password rather than everyone sharing a single password. Can this be done in BC? If so, how?

These members will not be administators of any kind, just customers with access to this secure area. (It might be a blog or news section of some kind, they have not been very clear about that as yet. I just need to know so I don't want to over-promise anything with BC.

Is there any way to have a customer's address from the CRM auto-populate when manually creating an order? My client inputs many phone orders every day and despite the address already set up in their CRM records, they have to type in the address EVERY time, which gets old. Is there a way for the Invoice to pull the address from the establised CRM record? I already have the invoice set up to pull the address, but if the new order address section is left blank, it's blank on the invoice as well.

Thanks for the reply.

The site is http://www.namastecms.com, and I set up the CST as Namaste Interactive Web Support.

I think the CST settings are correct, because it hasn't auto-disabled. I'm also able to send an email to the CST email address and have it appear in the CRM. When I reply to the autoresponder message, those responses aren't getting recorded in the CRM.

Right now the email for the CST is namasteinteractive@gmail.com. I tried removing the user roles, but I got a notification saying at least one user role has to be selected. Is there a way around this?

What site is this regarding? If you're not willing to post the URL of the site within these forums, please reach out to support via your Admin console/Partner Portal > Help & Support.

However, firstly ensure that the incoming mail server settings for your CST are correct. If not, then the CST will automatically disable itself (so that will be an indication as to whether this is the source of the issue).

Secondly, also ensure that the email account you have specified to use within your CST is not assigned to any user roles else this will conflict with the functionality of the CST.

Customer Service Ticketing not recording emails?

Hi,

I set up an account to test the CST system. Everything worked great except new email replies aren't recorded in the messages area in the case. Is this normal? My understanding is that the whole point of ticketing is to have the whole conversation available in the system. Is this not part of the feature, or did I miss something somewhere?
