Hello,

I installed a wamp server on my computer and did all the steps for the reporting to take place.

And it worked brilliantly. Thanks for explaining it so clearly..

But then it stopped working after 4 or 5 attempts. Meaning, the xml files in the course folder wouldn't get created.

I built another test learning object and it worked again.. and then it stopped working again.

I'm really confused about what prevents the xml files from being generated by the LO. Looked up inside the CPM.JS but it's a bit too messy for me.

Has anyone got this problem, and solved it?

2 things I do which might have an impact on the result:

- I fill in the value of cpQuizInfoStudentID and cpQuizInfoStudentName before the final form, either from inside the LO itself or via the url (http://localhost/myLOfolder/index.html?cpQuizInfoStudentID=tatata&cpQuizInfoStudentName=ta tata)

But as I said before it did work for some time in both cases.

- I open the LOs with several different browsers and OS (my comp is windows but I connect mobile devices to the server, running on android, and I use chrome)

The xml file did get generate when the LO was open on the tablet once, but stopped working soon after.

Would be great to hear from people who have got some experience with this internal server reporting!

Hi again,

I am sorry but that option cannot be removed. However, that option is not mandatory. That email address could be anything. It just have to be in an email format.

Thanks for the response. One question about setting up this way, Is it possible to do the POST result at the end without having an email address? We are running into this issue with some of our other training programs as lots of our drivers don't have email address's at all.

Welcome to Adobe Community. You can achieve this with the help of Internal Server Reporting.

Use following links & information to configure your internal server.

Configuration of Internal server in Captivate + Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer “Quiz Reporting”.

Go to “C:\wamp\www” & create a new folder “localinternalserver”

Copy & paste these two files inside “localinternalserver” folder. (NOTE : do not change names of these two files & do not try to add(write) something in source code.)

internalServerReporting.php
internalserverread.php

Default location to get these two files.

Win Xp : C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 6\Templates\Publish

Win 7 32 bit : C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 6 (32 Bit)\Templates\Publish

Win 7 64 bit : C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 6 x64\Templates\Publish

Go to Captivate :

Go to > Quiz > Quiz Preferences > “enable reporting for this project” > select “internal server” > click on “configure” > configure internal server settings.

Server : http://localhost/localinternalserver/internalServerReporting.php (use “localhost” if same machine)

Server : http://90.0.0.134/localinternalserver/internalServerReporting.php (use IP address if different machine)

If you setup correct “Post Result” button will appear on quiz results slide.

Launch Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer.

Go to Preferneces > add > name of server > location

http://localhost/LocalInternalServer/internalserverread.php (use “localhost” if same machine)

http://90.0.0.134/LocalInternalServer/internalserverread.php (use IP address if different machine)

Provide trainees following link

http://localhost/localinternalserver/SOLVED1.HTM (File Name) (use “localhost” if same machine)

http://90.0.0.134/localinternalserver/SOLVED1.HTM (File Name) (use IP address if different machine)

every user has to click on POST result button to provide his name & email address to POST result on server.
Everyone should get “Result Posted Successful” window after clicking on “send”

Now go to Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer

Choose Source “internal server name” > get results > generate reports

I am in charge of designing the training programs for a transportation company, and am interested in using Captivaed to create the training as well as to track results. is it possible to set this up for our 400+ employees without having to set each one up with and AdobeID to submit their results?
