Appearance of the color transition strip

When a color is changed (solid or gradient) the transition strip indicating the change only appears after the color panel is dismissed. This confuses beginning users a bit, since they see the change 'live' already on stage and expect the strip to appear as well. They ask if they need to acknowledge the change in some way, for the strip to appear. It's just a mild hurdle, but maybe this behavior can easily be altered in the software.
