I was testing the optional plugins for windows as it is marked on the download page that linked to for cs6 and photoshop cc.

(in the event someone asked a question of the forums about those plugins)

I was really interseted in the HSB/HSL plugin which does seem to work, but thought i'd try the others as well.

I'm wondering now whether any of the optional plugins on that page should be used in photoshop cc?

Photoshop CC doesn't have a plugin for Lighting Effects - the filter is built into the application.

Sounds like you copied plugins from an older version of Photoshop, and need to delete those plugins.

Photoshop CC-Lightning Effects Classic crash

The lighting effects classic plugin from the optional downloads page crashes both the 32 and 64 bit versions of photoshop cc (version 14) on a windows 7 x64 system

when invoked from Filter>Render>Lighting Effects Classic.
