May have been generating thumbnails in the background.

To answer my own question, about an hour later the Organizer opened and the thumbnails were back in the folders. Does anyone have any explanation of what the problem was?

When trying to open Elements, message comes up saying 'catalogue locked by another process'. Tried rebooting, same thing. No other programmes open. Tried opening a photo from Windows file and it opened in Editor, when I tried clicking Organizer screen went white. Eventually got the Organizer screen open but all my folders have no thumbnails in. Tried doing a repair and message saying not possible. Any help please?
