Thanks Todd, these are reassuring news. The error shows up again and again. I tried the suggested method, will let you know if it works for me.

Update. It happened right now, with default settings (lossless/automatic audio). The comp is just a simple psd as a background layer, couple of text and a camera, duration 20 seconds, no motion blur.

I got this error (see attached image), restarted AE, then the render went ok.

Cache is set in a folder on the same drive as the render dir, it's an internal SSD (secondary, the os is on another one).

(Already updated AME to 7.0.1)

No I haven't any BM or AJA hardware. Just a Macbookpro (mid 2010) with 2 ssd drives and an external monitor.

Sorry, Mylenium. As I mentioned above it happens no matter the project I'm working on (different formats, footage, or also no external footage).

Last time I was rendering a very simple comp with a photojpeg mov from shutterstock as background and some animated text. No fancy plugins applied. I tried render as lossless, and photo jpeg, same error. Comp was 1920x1080 square 25 fps 8bpc.

Next time (if happens) I will report for sure exact settings.

I keep getting errors when importing Quicktime files (no matter what the codec is) and when exporting/rendering, (see attached screenshot for error on importing).

Error during rendering (after 10-15 seconds) is:

After Effects error: Rendering error while writing file "xxx". An output module failed. The file may be damaged or corrupted. (-1610153464)

The only solution I found it's to close and restart AE CC. Yesterday I also got a couple of crashes when rendering.

CS6 was working perfectly, error began to appear when I started working on CC.

I have Apple pro apps installed, quicktime is updated. I mainly export in lossless, photo-jpeg or png sequence.

Is there a fix for this in the update I just downloaded (7.0.1)?

Same old, same old: Nobody can help you without exact indfo ojn render settings, comp settings, source footage....
