I'm not getting that far. It's while the photos open in camera raw converter and I ask it to open images that message comes up. They then won't open in Editor to enable me to save them.

Are you saving the file after making the changes but before opening them? If not then you need to save the file in editor AFTER you have made the changes otherwise, as you say, the picture appears to be locked.

I've recently installed Elements 12 and have the following problem. When I open photos in Camera raw, make adjustments and then try to open them I get a message saying the task could not be completed 'Error message'. On going back to Organizer photos are shown as locked in Editor and I cannot unlock them without shutting down the Organizer. Sometimes it works, then it doesn't. Does the same with 2 different makes of cameras (Panasonic Lumix and Fujifilm. I'm running Vista. Use a card reader to download. Tried card reader and SD card on laptop with Elements 12 and they work on there.

Any suggestions please? Should I uninstall and then re-install? Can't say I think 12 is any improvement, but forced into it as I bought new camera and couldn't get the raw converter for my version 10 Elements.
