I made it work a while ago by adding two extra fields to the web app called 'next' and 'previous.' For each web app, I enter the next and previous web app url manually and on the details page these urls are used for the next and previous link. It still involved a lot of manual "labor", but it works. But it is not out of the box functionality. I don't have time to explain in detail, but it involves custom templates, and displaying a single webapp item per page.
