Killing Spotify works. But not with the random crazy new Photoshop CC 2014....

This is completely confirmed. Fireworks was completely unusable, but I put it down to updating to 10.9.5... Happy to just have to close Spotify for it to work... but missing Spotify... gotta use the web version.

How terrific it was.... I've forgotten twice Spotify was the problem. So I spent my afternoon trying to figure what was going wrong with FW! That's weird, caus' Spotify stopped causing problem until this week...

Holy crap, Adrianatgeniux you are a genius! So thankful the text glitch was completely destroying my rhythm. Hope this is not a permanent problem as I am a total Spotify addict.

I was having the same issue and I didn't even think about Spotify! I quit the app and Fireworks it back to normal. What a bummer since the web app doesn't work in Safari for me.

I guess Spotify released an update on Friday, thats why it's broken since then.

Oh my gosh -- YOU ARE RIGHT -- that is what was happening to me too! I just shut down Spotify and now no more problems. How strange. Well that's a bummer that I can't listen to Spotify, but thank you SO much for your response -- you just saved my day!

after having some funny conversations with the support chat, they thought that it might was a problem concerning my user's permissions on osx. (as mentioned in the other thread)

but, as i found out by accident, the problems i had were the fault of spotify running in the background. i'm dead serious about that. i have no idea why it happend but everytime i have spotify

and fireworks opend at the same time my fireworks is almost useless.

no it's as good as it gets (still getting a lot of crashes!)

I am having similar problems. As of this morning, I can no longer use the text tool to select and edit text, using Zoom from the toolbar does not work, though the keyboard shortcut still functions, I'm sure there are other issues I haven't discovered yet, but I'm effectively stuck in the water now and will likely miss a huge deadline today because of this. Adobe, somebody, please help!

Adrian, I am going to try reinstalling and if that doesn't work then I will try the Permissions fix suggested in this thread: Select Tool, Text Tool stopped working in Fireworks CS6 on Mac OS 10.9.3 rendering program useless.... thoughts?

Although, to be honest, I'm not sure how to do that, but I'll get someone to help me. If any of those things work I'll report back. Please let me know if you have been able to resolve the problem since your post and what you did. Thanks!

Hi there,

I'm working in Fireworks CS6 at my office and the problem I have since last Friday is,

that the whole application doesn't respond properly anymore.

The tool-shortcuts doesn't work anymore. While clicking the V and A button on my keyboard

the tools eventually change thru but they're not working. So when I want do select an element

I usually have to just click it when the right arrow-tool is selected but since friday I have to

go through my layer-window to select any element.

The next problem is (just as another example) the type tool. I can't just click it and type the hell

out of that text box, NO (!!!), I have to select a word or a whole paragraph and than shift through it

with my arrow-keys on the keyboard. That's just not working well. Sometimes I can't even do it

like that and I have to restart the whole application.

Another problem appears while the zoom-tool is selected. I just can zoom in and out by clicking the

left mouse button and drag the selection open. Just clicking doesn't work anymore.

Any suggestions on how to solve that problem? I've already reinstalled Fireworks twice (also with deleting

all supporting files and preferences while uninstall the application.)
