Yes, BC by default allows users to upload any type of file as an attachment with the form.

No problem Rohit I have now posted the original question as you suggested in 'Features for Muse'. I'm still not 100% sure what is the best route though? I guess it's whatever is most important - filesize or file type? I think for a web page, ANY image that starts originally at 20MB is going to be fine anyway after editing in PS. One thing I didn't ask though: If I DO decide to go the BC route so the client can manage in-coming forms and in-coming images, does the BC back-end allow ANY file type to be up-loaded by default?

I kinda like the idea of 'all things in one place' with BC, so adding FormsCentral as another 'thing' the client needs to manage (although it's no problem really I guess) is just another 'thing' they need to have explained to them. But in all honesty, I guess it's simple enough for me to help them manage it as I don't think we will have hundreds of images a day! (Maybe though, eh?)

I would just like to point out one thing as it baffled me and may be useful for others. I was using the Desktop App for FormsCentral on my iMac; signed-in, created a new form but when it came to add the button for attaching files, all the options were greyed-out and it stated that you needed a Wed-based form to add attachments? I double-checked, yes, I was creating a form from scratch within FormsCentral and not a pdf form?? Baffled me . . . until I watched the video on Adobe TV again more closely. I noticed that on the bottom right the lady (can't find the video link now, sorry!) had 'Web View' selected so I checked back in my FormsCentral App and sure enough there is an option to switch between views! This then enabled me to choose my preferences for file type etc.

I guess that if you log-in within a browser then you don't need to worry about this but I was baffling until I realised, so I hope that helps someone?

Ive set up a a nice little form in FormsCentral and added the HTML to the page in Muse and it works great. I think that a cap of 20MB from clients is fine for uploaded pics for the gallery but, if we find in the future there is a need for big images, then I can always switch to BC

Hi,

If you use a BC form then the uploaded data from the users is stored in the "Related Files" section under customers cases within the business catalyst server and the maximum size for the attachment can be 250mb as pointed by you.

However , if you use a adobe form central - form then you have the option to specify, if you want the uploaded files from the customer into the email address specified or else it is uploaded onto adobe's server and you can retrieve it from there. But the size limit for an attachment using form central is 20mb for a paid user. Please refer to this link for further information regarding this :- https://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2656

So, if you ask me I would suggest you to use the BC-form if you are expecting large images from the customer.

Hi Rohit, thank you for that.

I do have a FormsCentral account and notice on a tutorial I found on AdobeTV, that you can specify file types. This is something I'd like to be able to do as they will be images so PSD, png, jpg etc. But just looking over on BC I see that you can add 'Attach File 250mb limit' to a form (as you advised) but I can't see where you can limit to type? Is it in there?

Finally, will the image be uploaded to the BC server-side (if I use BC form creation method and not FormsCentral) in some type of assets folder or, will the form simply send any clients uploaded images to the specified email account within the form?

Whoops, final finally: Do you think that it is better to use FormsCentral for this or BC? I want the page to be customised so the form sits on some b-ground artwork. The client has a famous image where she is holding a burning card invite. I have already used this and overlaid a contact form in Muse which has worked really well, so I want to create a (hidden from menu) uploaded page looking exactly the same and this page will be linked directly from the other Contact page, driving any fans there who wish to then upload an image rather than just send a general contact. I hope that makes sense?

I guess what Im trying to find out is wether FormsCentral data gets fed back to BC in the same way a BC-created form would be seen in the dashboard area.

Hi,

At present the Built-in form available in Muse does not offer this feature to attach files along with the form. However, if you use a service like JotForm, WuFoo or Adobe Forms Central then it's possible to create a form that includes image attachment capabilities and then copy/paste the code for that form into an HTML object in a Muse site. You can also use a BC form for this purpose.

Hi,

Im building a website via Muse and BC for a movie star client who has images of herself tattooed by ardent fans. Basically, the website is a gallery for fans showcasing the very best in inked images of herself on their skin. On the contact form in Muse, I'd like to add an option somewhere for the client to upload an image of their own tattoo to be included in the gallery (which will be added/edited manually in PS).

Is this possible without too much xtra code? Or, will I need a single page where folks can upload their image to us which will include some sort of widget? I'd like to be able to manage it though without giving out an email address if possible?

Any help most appreciated.
