Thx, but I've tried this many times (adding new contexts). All produce a dead Sign In button.

I strongly suspect a corrupted installation, since I've not found any other complaints about this issue on the forum, or indeed on the Web in general.

Or, try File > New Context

use "robohelp" or create a new one called Test or whatever. Then, select this and click File > Exit and try the admin login again.

Thx for the tip, John. Still no luck.

One thing is suspicious: I never saw the default context "/robohelp", just plain old "/". I'm thinking I might just re-install RHS.

Am I right that for testing purposes right now, you are probably just using the built-in Access database?
If so, after installing Rh Server, you will want to:

Start Configuration Manager (this app is on the Rh Server machine, not the Author's Rh application)
Select File > Open Context Settings
From the Dropdown, Select Context: /robohelp
Click OK to accept this setting
Select the Built-in database (Access DB) radio button option (or go through the ODBC configuration if you are testing a different database.)
Click the Save button at the bottom of the dialog
Open a browser to your server (e.g., http://localhost:8080/robohelp/admin )
This should allow you to log in.

BTW, have you ever come across the issue I reported in another recent thread, where by when clicking on the "Sign In" button of RH Server Configuration Manager, nothing happens? The issue is something of a mystery for IT and me at present, and getting in the way of our RHS eval.

I've had several clients deploy Rh Server on virtual machines (including VMWare) and it seems to work well. The main thing is to start with good configuration and follow the guidelines for the various combinations of DB and OS as outlined in the documentation.
