Hi there, I 've recently had a similar issue on MacBook and Adobe support representative helped me to fix it.

EDIT: the bug is back. Right after I setup my Workspace, argh. But at least I know what's causing it - when I move Color picker from my main monitor to the secondary one.

Here's my screenshot displaying the issue:

This is just a temporary fix, the bug returned after a while.

1. Close all Adobe apps you are running.

2. Open Finder and select from menu Go - Go to folder... and type in ~/library/preferences

3. Navigate to Adobe Illustrator 18 Settings folder

4. Rename the "en_US" folder to "en_US old".

5. Launch Illustrator (you can Sync settings with Cloud if you want to)

Mads,

This bug is unsolved, but you can select the lower rectangle to the right of the rainbow and DoubleClick to apply that to change the top rectangle and the values: the lower colour is the right one.

I am running Mac OS X 10.9.5. Yes, I have tried deleting the Pref file, same problem.

Can you please update about the OS version and also have you tried opening AI CC 2014 after deleting the Preferences.
