The cause of this issue has been identified, and the code is being corrected to prevent the crash. Once that's done, the fix needs to be tested and validated along with other bug fixes before an update patch can be released. Unfortunately, I cannot provide specific dates at this time.

I see the problem at 100% scaling in the Waveform editor. It reliably crashes at the instant that the waveform display should begin scrolling during playback. I opened a report on this a while back but have no resolution. It's crashing in the Microsoft runtime library - MSVCR110.dll. System is Win 7 Pro SP1 with an Nvidia GTX560 display card.

When I submitted the report before, Support said not to provide a dump - that they already thought they had enough.

Okay, I think we've found the reproduction steps now. Looks like it's related to High DPI Scaling. Is anyone who sees this problem running Windows at 100% icon/text scaling?

Yes - I have been using for days now at 100% with zero crashes.

Seems til an update this will stop it from crashing! Thank you all for the input!

I am confident that this minor error will be quickly corrected. Mistakes happen at all , but I think you should not do out of molehills .

This is completely insane. I'm not going to change my entire Windows environment to accommodate this bug that never existed before the recent update to Audition. What's the time frame? I'm paying for my Creative Cloud subscription that is broken by this severe bug.

You are absolutely right. I had the same problem, when the scale was 125%, but after reduction to 100%, the problem disappeared.

On mine, it is working on both 150% and 100%. Only at 125% is when it will crash.

Ok - on 150 it still crashes, but at 100%, it's fine so far... I logged off and back on after each change. I start using this new update (was using older version) and let you know if I have any problems.

I am on Windows using Medium (125%) scaling, but will test at 100 and 150.

I'm having a similar issue. When I am highlighting audio and move the mouse left or right to the point where it SHOULD be scrolling, Audition will crash instead. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it and no change.

Running

Audition 2014.1, Build 7.1.0.119

WIndows 7 Pro, SP1, 64-bit

Dell Latitude E6530:

CPU: i7, 2.70GHz

RAM: 16GB

Free Disk Space: 118GB

Video Card: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000

I've created a DMP file and sent this all to audbugs@adobe.com just now

Hi Phil,

Yours is the first report of this behavior on OS X. There is a very comprehensive crash report that OS X generates that would be very helpful.

When the application crashes, please launch /Applications/Utilities/Console.app and then open the "User Diagnostic Reports" item. You can drag the most recent Audition crash report listed there as an email attachment and send it to audbugs@adobe.com I'll make sure it is shared with the developers and added to the bug report. (It may also give us some more immediate guidance on what's happening.)

It's happening to me. I'm a VO artist and I make my living off this program. What happened? I'll get the dump file ASAP. I'm using OSX v10.9.5 (Mavericks) and haven't had any trouble at all prior to this release.

Not only is it crashing on me when I move the playhead or copy/paste... it's also cutting off the last 10 or so seconds of my recording if Audition isn't the active window and I switch back to stop the recording after I've completed my script.

I haven't yet seen any reports specifically like you describe, but let's see what we can find out. Probably the simplest method to troubleshoot this would be to provide a crash dump file to our development team. If you are able to follow these steps the next time Audition crashes or when you have a few minutes, it would be very helpful.

1. When Audition crashes, immediately launch Windows Task Manager. You can do this easily by pressing SHIFTCTRLESC simultaneously.

2. Click the "More Details" toggle, if needed, then right-click on the Adobe Audition CC process and select "Create Dump File"

3. When this is complete, it should provide a path to the saved dump file, for example, C:\Users\labuser\AppData\Local\Temp\PDapp.DMP Please locate this file and share it to audbugs@adobe.com via Dropbox or a similar service. (If you do not have a service available, please let me know and I'll see if I can send a link that will enable you to share it easily.)

I'll forward the file to an engineer and they should be better able to debug the application state and see what caused the crash to occur.

Hi, every time I edit a sound clip or and an effect and then move the play head back, the application crashes.

Is anyone else having this issue?

System I'm running:

Windows 8.1

Intel i7

Nvidia 740 gt m.

Laptop.
