Rick and Peter- OK, I'll look into a SQL Server forum. (I was just thinking that a reader of this forum that uses RH Server with a SQL Server back would be able to answer my question. Long shot perhaps, as it seems many are using the built-in DB or the free SQL Server Express.)

As Rick says, for SQL Server you need to ask in a different forum. For Rh Server, you need one licence for every server that it is installed on, the number of users is not relevant.

If a CAL is tied to SQL Server, I would think this is a question that you should be asking in a forum dedicated to SQL Server. To my knowledge, there are no additional licenses required from the RoboHelp perspective.

All- Does one have to purchase CALs in order to use a RH Server deployment with SQL Server. My IT guy seems to think that if we expect, say, a maximum of 20 users hitting our site at once, then 40 CALs would be required to support this.

So is it true that CALs are require in all SQL Server supported cases, and that the CAL count varies with expected concurrent users?
