You are correct that Shared Reviews on Acrobat.com will be ending in January. Please see the following from FAQ: Adobe Workspaces is being retired:

For Acrobat XI, X and 9 users, when you select “Send for Shared Review” in your Acrobat software, the option to download and track comments with Adobe online services will no longer be available. You will still be able to initiate Shared Reviews from within Acrobat using your own internal server – such as a SharePoint workspace, a network folder, or a web server folder – to collect comments.

Will Acrobat.com support for shared reviews end in Jan 2015?

I just installed Acrobat XI Pro (on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit) specifically to take advantage of the shared PDF reviews feature. It seemed like using Acrobat.com to host the review would be the easiest path to take, but the UI is not giving me that option, even when the PDF is opened from my account on Acrobat.com. In my efforts to troubleshoot I read that Adobe is going to discontinue support for Acrobat.com shared PDF reviews on in Jan 2015 - if this is true, I don't want to waste any more time on it (maybe support has already ended?).

My other options are BOX and Google Drive. I know BOX supports WebDav.

I could ask IT to provide a server inside the firewall (although reviewers are not all located inside, nor am I, and it will take forever to get this done).

I've done a variety of searches on Google and the Adobe support site, but don't seem to be finding a forum that answers my questions. Maybe somebody else has gone through this and can point me in the right direction?
