I want to give kudos to BC. I just got a response to my case on this issue and they've acknowledged it as a bug and have logged it.

Looking forward to the day these great new capabilities move out of beta. These are great improvements!

This seems to only have happend today, a few things have got broke. Hopefully they will fix it when they are in today.

i've reverted back to the original rendering engine and replaced all new liquid tags with the legacy tags and everything seems to be working fine

shame as i was enjoying using liquid

guess i learned my lesson, don't use the beta features

not sure what you mean by "need to be posted in the development forum bug thread" as this is the bug forum for BC

thanks for the .tpl tip / .html has been working well but i see why now .tpl is a better practice

the problem i had seemed to be specific with the built in blog module

it was working really well (with the new rendering engine) but as soon as they applied the update today it stopped working

Hey, as a note if you do custom template files use .tpl these will not show as normal pages in sitemaps, admin etc.

BC.Next is something in beta you enable at the moment, I have gone through a few sites with custom template solutions and none of them for me are effected. Your site will not be using the new rendering engine.

IF you have turned on the new rendering engine, then that is not how modules render now, but old modules should still work. If you have enabled it on a live site - you shouldn't as it is not finished yet. If this is a bug it will need to be posted in the development forum bug thread.

Since the BC.Next update (which I'm told is now completed by chat) has effect how parts of my site display.

Previous to the update I was able to render variations of my 'blogpostlist' in various parts of my site with different layouts using template="/.." in the new module tags for my client's blog.

Now these types of modules:

{module_blogpostlist,10583,1 template="/Layouts/Blog/dwm-bloghome.html"}

No longer renders the "dwm-bloghome.html" template. Instead it is using the default blog layout "postlist.html"

I've tried to sort this out with chat but with no success. First I was told to wait for the BC.Next update to complete and check back on the BC Status page to find out it was done. After four hours I asked chat again what the ETA was (since parts of my client's site are messed up because of this.) This time i was told it was complete and they don't post completion times for events since there was no client impact. Of course there is but they don't seem to believe me. When I explained the impact I was then told BC.Next is a beta feature and not supported. Basically, no help.

I'm venting since I'm looking for help on a BC issue that is out of my control but no one at BC seems interested in helping or interested to know that a previously working feature is no longer working.

Are you aware of any issues with the new rendering engine causing problems with custom templates defined in module tags?

This is the error i'm getting whenever i try to open a business catalyst website. I can't open the dashboard also...
