Vikas, here are the results of the tests I did. (kind of a mixed bag)

I uploaded (form 1) to my server via ftp client.

Opened the form in Safari, results won't submit or print.

Opened the form in Chrome, results won't submit but will print

Opened the form in Firefox, result message: filling of form fields is not supported

Opened the form in Opera, results allows the user to select acrobat. Then I could submit or print from Acrobat. (The problem here is the user may not know what to do or possibly won't have acrobat)

Then I tried another form that was created about 6 months ago. This form is an asset to the website created in Muse. Live from the site, the submit and print buttons work. (What??)

Then I did another test with this same form. I updated the website on my local drive to make sure Muse updated it correctly. After updating the site, I previewed in browser to try the form. Guess what, the form does not summit.

So why is the older software submitting the forms correctly and if and when I update, they stop working?!!!

So now, I get to tell my hosted clients that all forms can no longer be submitted vie email. Users must print the form, fill it out and scan/fax, OR they can download the form fill it out, send as an attachment because the built-in send button may or may not work. (This is of course after they have updated and installed the latest Adobe reader version.

I've read an article on Forms Central. (not sure I understand it) but there was mentioned you will not be charged for low volume. What is low volume? High volume will be a subscription-based user fee. And, can the average user figure out what they need to do? I certainly don't know what to tell my hosted clients and I also don't understand what the Forms Central wizard or service does with the forms data? Is it stored? Is it secure? Is it a liability for Adobe and everyone using it? These are uncertainties that I as a web host should know in order to let my clients know.

For me, this is a giant step backwards in the universe of technology.

Ben

Is this issue being looked at by the developers or what? No news is not always good news. Vikas, I sent you three emails and tested three browsers. If the acrobat form open in browser has the submit button disabled, and the same form if opened in Reader works fine, it is most likely an issue with the browser, rather than Muse - which is just putting the form on the server.

Thanks,

Vikas

Vikas, I thought I was very clear. Let me break it down.

I have pdf download assets with my site . One of the pdf files is a form that has an email send feature once the form is filled out. The current URL for this form is: http://www.jocofoodbank.org/assets/volunteer-application-joco-fb.pdf

This site is working properly with the form. I have updated this site to test ONLY. I have not uploaded it to my server because when I updated the muse file and previewed it in browser the form would not send.

The problem is:

A different website I am currently working on is having the same problem. The food bank site was to show you an example of what the feature is. It is working properly because I have not updated the uploaded version.

I have a fillable form and have tested the send button to an email address (several times) and it works out of acrobat and acrobat reader. When I link the asset and upload the website the form does not send. It is like it has a dead button.

The link I provided to you is proof that the function was working and when the site was updated, it stopped working.

Please advise because I am on deadline and I need to get more forms created and linked to send to various email places on the new site I am working on. I've already lost about 7.5 hours trying things and double checking my work to get this far.

I am fully updated on the cloud

Thank you

Ben

Is this a bug? I could not get it to work from preview or browser. I even uploaded a test and sure enough it doesn't send the form. The form sends fine from acrobat, so I know the mailto: settings are correct.

I checked acrobat settings and tried some work arounds. tested again and no luck.

As a final test, I updated an existing website that the forms currently work correctly. When I updated the site and previewed in browser mode, the forms could not be emailed any more. It's like the mailing URL link doesn't work because nothing was changed on the updated website - it was purely a test to confirm the problem.

Please help!

If anyone else is having this issue, please post here.

Ben
