Hi Bharadwaj,

Here is the post my friend made (https://forums.adobe.com/message/6885238) regarding my first issue. Here the problem of deleting nested symbols is acknowledged.

The second problem is when the children of the stage are listed, it also gets children of children. To reproduce the issue, grab this file test_delsym.zip - Google Drive.

Steps

1. Press "Get Childs" button and observer the console log (You get btn1-4 and contentA)

2. Press "Open" button. This creates a child symbol (contentAA) withing contentA. To confirm this you can press the move button

3. Press "Get Childs" button again. This time it will show (in console log) contentAA aswell, which is actually a child of child

This is a bug in 2014.1. We have fixed this issue and the fix will be available soon in the next update. I think the problem described in this post ( Problem deleting nested symbols ) is similar.

We are not able to reproduce this issue of deleting the symbols.

The code also works fine.

Can you share a composition where you are facing this issue, so that we can figure out the problem.

If a child symbol is deleted first and then the parent it throws the error "Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'id' of null". Its also strange that when listing all the child symbols on the stage it also lists the grand children. These codes worked perfectly with the previous versions but not with 2014.1.

The code used to print all stage symbols:

var chldns = sym.getComposition().getStage().getChildSymbols();

for(i=0; i<chldns.length; i++){

console.log('->'+chldns[i].name);

}

Can someone tell me if this is a bug or is there a new way of doing these?
