Has it worked fine on this system before? Is it crashing before you are able to use the application at all?

The simplest troubleshooting tip is to force Audition to rebuild it's settings files. To do this, try the following steps:

Launch Windows Explorer. In the Location bar, type: %APPDATA% and press ENTER
Open Adobe\Audition\ and find the folder named 4.0
Rename the 4.0 folder to 4.0.BACKUP
Launch Audition

Audition should begin launching, create the settings files to their defaults, and continue.

If it launches and allows you to edit before it crashes, please let me know exactly which steps you are performing up to the failure.

To put it mildly, we're a bit short of information - any information - here! You haven't even said whether this is on a Mac or a PC.

Probably the best thing you can do if you don't want to put it all on here is to look at this page in the FAQs: Audition Crashed. Now what? and do what it says there.

Audition keeps crashing. Why? I have uninstalled and re-installed, and now all I get is it freezes up, and says Audition has stopped working, and then closes.
