The only thing you can &lt;em&gt;sometimes&lt;/em&gt; reduce somewhat is the vocal, and only then if it's mono and slightly isolated from everything else. Drums are generally spread across the stereo field and mixed in with everything else. At this point, it's a bit like unbaking a cake - you simply can't do it.
