when you have safari open, click on word safari next to apple icon on top left of screen. when drop down box appears, go down to and click on "quit safari”. This worked for me.

How do I quit the Safari process? i have a MacBookAir.

How do I quit the Safari process? I have MacBookAir. I have the same problem. Goes to nearly the end and then tells me Safari is open when it isn't.

You need to quit the Safari process, not just close the browser window.

I have tried to down load and install the latest flash player but every time i do so, the installation fails after 97% completion. Computer indicates failure is do to Safari being open, which is not the case. Anyone have any suggestions?
