Try experimenting with some of the Effects/Filter & EQ. To start try the Old Time Radio preset in the Parametric Equalizer effect. You can then experiment with adjusting some of the controls.

I wish it was that easy. I'm doing a playthrough of Metro 2033 and thought it'd be cool to add a gas mask sounding voice over for when you are in areas that you have it on. I've got 4 hours of recording to go through and edit unfortunately and not sure how long it'd take doing that, but I appreciate the help!

What do you mean by 2-3kHz? As my name suggests I'mma Noob.

I also thought about using a gas mask while recording, but I'm using this for my small YouTube channel.

Or just put your hand over your mouth when recording. These things always sound better if you can create them acoustically rather than trying to use digital effects although using a combination can be useful.

Low pass filter set to roll off at about 2-3kHz (or thereabouts) and then you have to find a way to record the vocal with all of the breath noises, which would be much more obvious.

Of course, one option is to record what you want whilst wearing a gas mask!

What I am trying to do is take a play through of a video game and during certain parts being about to make my voice sound like I am wearing a gas mask using Adobe Audition. I've tried Googling but found little to no information on the subject.
