Outlook used to be a problem and I thought had been fixed. The basic need is to be sure that your e-mail client is properly MIME encoded (or other, but MIME is the typical encoding) for transmission. You could also zip the PDF and send the zip file. Many e-mail packages have in the past seen a PDF file as an ASCII file and not encoded it, sending it in 7-bit ASCII format rather than binary.

It sounds like the email server, email client or browser are messing up the

file's extension.

The red and white PDF icon on the the front of the file name turns white and empty after the file is sent.

When they click on it it asks what program would you like to open it in. it has never done this before.

But one of my colleagues receives pdfs from another member on the team that do this, and it drives him nuts because it takes a couple extra steps to open the file. And for me, the recipients are just confused.

Ask them for more details, starting with in which application they're

opening the files and what exactly are they seeing.

The last 4-5 pdfs I have emailed out are defaulting into something else once they are sent to the recipient. It has not done this before, however it is confusing my reciepients and I need to know how to fix this. I am using outlook email. I work on a mac, most of the recipients are on windows platform
