But be aware that this is no more than a minor deterrent. So, for example, you might hide answers to an informal quiz, but not passwords or an encryption key.

Yes, that's one way of doing it. You can also go to File - Properties - Security.

Do I have to do the steps for it like shown here (Protection->Encrypt->Restrict editing and printing)(http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/products/acrobat/pdfs/adobe-acrobat-xi-protect-p df-file-with-permissions-tutor…) ?

You can do it by applying a security policy that prevents content copying.

You should be aware that there are way around it, though...

Another approach would be to obfuscate your code.

is it possible to protect its own code in Acrobat from view? For example I seen documents where the DocumentJavaScript in JavaScript Toolbar is locked, how to do that or are there maybe other approaches?
