I have to agree with you. CC markets itself as a complete solution but without 3d modeling (which is becoming big esp with 3d printing) it has a hole. They started putting some 3d capabilities in photoshop but you can't export for standard 3d formats like fbx as far as I can tell. If they did come out with or revive a 3d modeling product it would certainly bring the price down on such products that (with the exception of things such as blender) are in the $800+ range ..compared to professional drawing/painting tools which are half that.

When you rendered a 3D circle, you got an actual vector circle (not a mult-sided polygon). This made it much easier to edit the rendered 2D vector. Also, they did a good job at shading the 3D object. I really wish they would revive and update it at some point.... :-)

That would take a bite out of companies like Autodesk (and by extension, competing software and services like Sketchbook; vendor lock-in). It woulden't be overly difficult to sway the favor of developers with limited resources that are trying to justify the expense of licensing Adobe and Autodesk software. Adobe would win that standoff. Maybe they're just bitter about WebGL?

Unfortunately, it was really buggy. :-(
