Open the AI file and you will see a blank canvas. Draw a circle or square or whatever shape, go to the swatches pallette and click on the William Morris swatch and it will fill your shape with the pattern.

Good luck and thanks for downloading my swatch.

Yitz Woolf

Can someone please tell me how to download an Illustrator pattern -- the William Morris Thistle -- download available in the Illustrator Exchange area. I've downloaded it now several times; however, cannot get it into the Illustrator library. I've tried "open" with Illustrator, doesn't do anything. I've tried to use the Extension Manager and go to my "downloads" file (which is where I see it downloaded as an .ai file), but the Extension Manager file options don't include this type of file. Extension Manager files are "zxp" "mxp" and "mxi".

How does one actually get these downloads to work and load into Illustrator? There must be an easy way to do this, but I can't find anything on the Abobe site that's actually helpful in explaining why this isn't working and/or how to this step-by-step for these exchange files. So, Adobe, how do you do this? Also, I've downloaded the Extension Manager several times (uninstall and reinstall) and the link on it that's supposed to go directly to Adobe Exchange does not work. I've asked about this problem several times in the past and there's never been an answer to the problem. And, no, it's not my 2 month old computer that has dual processors, max ram/memory, etc. since that seems to be the standard answer "it must just be your computer".
