Mark. Yes. your answer was helpful and I aplogize for my tone before. I just reread my initial post and I come across a bit accusatory (and a bit confusing). The second part of my inquiry was indeed about dot releases but I think we should evaluate this compatibility stuff deeper before any of that. I suspect our issues are related to Compatibility and I'll let you know about our findings. Thanks again. I'm enjoying the Browser Lab utility.

The likely cause of the differences you're seeing between our rendering of the page and what your user sees are likely due to the issues outlined in this blog post:

I'm not sure I understand the question at the end... by "subversions" are you referring to minor dot releases of the browsers? If so, I'm still a little confused by what you're asking, can you try asking that again?

It is no surprise that the majority of my testing revolves around the IE 6,7, and 8 problem kids. However, today i was surprised to get a report from a version 9 user. The results (screen captures) I received from the user confirm they are using IE9 but the browser's rendering on their machine is quite different than what I am seeing in Browser Labs. Can anyone explain this? What is the purpose of Browser Labs if we can't rely on the results or if our client stakeholders are able to render different outputs than Browser Labs does using the same browser versions?

Windows 7 using IE 9

Totally different results than what I'm seeing in Browser Labs for same same browser version... I'm in the process of backtracking and there are a couple of tiny details that were overlooked so far that is making things a bit better. At the center of my question for this forum I guess relates to the subversions of browser releases and their importance and/or adoption into the browser labs experience. Are subversion releases a major player and to what impact do should the developers that use Browser Labs afford them?
