I scanned some pictures and for some reason they loaded as

pdf instead of jpg. Is there any way to convert the file to jpg format

? Does anyone know why the pictures would scan as pdf rather than jpg or bitmap?

I have scanned 43 separate pdf files and want to combine them into one document. I have tried to look up on the adobe site and they talk about finging the combine icon, but I cannot find it. How do I combine these separatly scanned PDF files into one file.

I installed updates for Acrobat Reader, Flash, and Shockwave. Even though I did not ask for Acrobat_Com.exe or Air to be installed on my computer, they were. I expect this kind of crap from less reputable companies, but not Adobe. It wasn't bad enough that you advertized Adobe Air while I was installing the other products, but then you had to install it even though I expressly chose NOT to install it?

If you want me to try some product, tell me about it and why I would want it. But I have way too much unasked for crap already to have it be installed during the installation of another product - WITHOUT EVEN BEING TOLD ABOUT IT.

So here is the question: What EXACTLY is Acrobat_com.exe and is it required for Reader, Flash or Shockwave in any way or was it just installed so that some markerting **** at Adobe could get a promotion?

In the past I have used Adobe Acrobat 6.0 to convert jpeg images to pdf's with no problem..

Now Adobe has upgraded to Adobe Reader 9.0 and Adobe Acrobat.com..

I am currently using the site yet for some reason I am not able to now download these files?

How does this work exaclty and is this a "trial" version that I am using for Adobe Acrobat or is it a free software?

I've created an ebook-type presentation that was created using Open Office and then converted to .pdf. I can access the .pdf file on my computer, but I can't find anything that explains how you can upload the .pdf to a web page or even just share it with people outside of an e-mail. Is there any way to convert a .pdf to a URL?

For some reason, my wifes laptop will not connect to any adress with adobe.com in it. I have added adobe .com as a trusted site, but that does not work either. I can connect to any other site I type in, so it is not a connectivity issue. Any ideas?

Resolving errors connecting to Acrobat.com for Review or Forms workflows

Users who had begun Review or Forms workflows on Acrobat.com on or before November 20, and who are now getting errors attempting to connect to Acrobat.com with those reviews or forms are candidates for using this Fixit utility.

N.B.: All of the participants in a Review will also need to download and follow these instructions, not just the review owner.

The symptoms will likely include an error message in Acrobat saying that Acrobat encountered an error communicating with Acrobat.com.

Reviews that were started more recently than Nov 20 should function correctly without a need to run this utility. If the review or form was started after Nov 20, and you are experiencing a problem, then you are seeing an issue that this utility will not fix. Please let us know if this is your case, so we can look into the issue.

Here are the instructions for using the utility:

Download and unzip the appropriate Fixit utility for your system (Mac or Windows)
Close all open Acrobat windows
Run the Fixit utility. This may take several seconds if you have many reviews or forms. The utility has no user interface, so it is normal for it to show an empty window while running.
After the utility has finished running, open the Shared Review or Form document in Acrobat that was not working properly.
Check for New Comments (Review) or Responses (Form).
You might see an error that says that the review is corrupted when you open the Review. Ignore that error and Check for New anyway. Checking should repair that error.
If after trying these steps your form or review is still broken, please let us.

Error: Could not get new comments. Your ID or password is incorrect; please re-enter your sign-in for access.

Hi,

I have been asked to review a document using acrobat.com and I just have signed up for an account. When I accessed share.acrobat.com, and selected the said pdf doc, I am requested to Download it. I believe with the download, you will be able to comment on the document.

Unfortunately after downloading and opening the document, when I try to select Check for new comments and Track reviews, as well as monitor the system tray tracker, I got this error: Error: Could not get new comments. Your ID or password is incorrect; please re-enter your sign-in for access.

Is this because I have just been signed up to the acrobat.com or is it also because of the configuration (internal server, etc..) of the Adobe Acrobat? Please help!

Is the process by which I upload a PDF and it is converted to a Word document part of "Workspaces"?

I occasionally use Adobe to convert PDF files to Word or Excel files. I am wondering whether the recent widely distributed email on retirement of Workspaces is relevant to me. Is the retirement of workspaces relevant to me if I am using the Adobe online service to convert PDF to Word or Excel files? I ask this question because I do not know whether Adobe may be using Workspaces in the background whenever I request a file conversion.

My comment is the same as a previous users. I suspect this is a software glitch. I'm trying use the "Send for Shared Review" feature in Acrobat 9, which worked fine a week ago. Every time I try, the Acrobat.com dialog box comes up telling me it "can't connect to server." It has my correct log in information. If I use my browser to go to acrobat.com, I can log in fine, but then of course I can't get the mark-up feature for my shared pdf files. I used this feature in Acrobat about a month ago with no problem. Any ideas what I can do to troubleshoot? Eventually Acrobat says that my file published comments successfully but no other users can see my comments, nor can I see any comments published by other users.

Index Card Template

I stumbled across this site while I was looking for an index card template. What I am wanting to do is create a 3"x5" horizontal template with approximate 3 blank fields that can be edited by others. I manage a consignment sale and would like to standardize our consignment tags and thought that offering a template as an option for the consignors would be so convenient. I would like for the consignors to be able to access the template and enter their information (size, sex, garment description) and I would have a blank box in the corner (that would not be changed) which would show them where to affix their barcode label. This template could potentially be accessed by several hundred consignors and they would be typing in 1-100+ tags of information. After they enter their information, I would like for them to be able to put a stack of 3"x5" index cards in their printer and be able to print their consignment sale tags. I haven't spent the time going through and creating this template yet because I wanted to see if this was possible first. I would not know the consignor's email addresses (until after the sale) to allow access to them--I would just need to put the web address on the consignment sale information card to direct them where they could access the template. Is this something that could be done on this site or do I need to look elsewhere? Thank you (in advance) for your response. --Andrea

I've been using Buzzword about 6 to 9 months or so. Let me just say that I love it! Makes life and document sharing much easier.

However, somewhere along the line it seems that autosave became a standard action.I don't think it was always this way, was it?

I don't like for two reasons:

1) It is IMHO a very atypical interaction. Typically, if I open an "offline" document I can do whatever I want and then either do a Save As or just close and revert to the last save.

2) There is no revert option. So if I make a change and Buzzword forces a save there's not way for me to get back (un-do?) to where I was even if I close (without me saving) I'm still stuck with BW's save. That's an odd UX, no?

For example, I opened a document and did a couple edits. I then decided I was going to do a Save As and work on it independently of the starter document.Well, too late. BW did a save and now my original document is gone

I suspect this saving might have something to do with collaboration and how that's handled with Flash, screen refreshes, etc. Fair enough. But if I'm on single user mode then that should be within my control, no? At best I should be prompted before the first autosave, no?

Thanks again. So far so good but something needs to be fixed with regards to the auto-save.

When I sign in to www.acrobat.com I can log in no problem. When I click the Meet button in the top right corner of the www.acrobat.com web page, it shows a gray screen that says, "Adobe ConnectNow connecting..." It hangs there forever and never allows me to connect or send meeting invites out. I have tried connecting from three different computers and it does the same thing on all three computers. I have used this site to having meetings many times and it has always worked, but it's not working at all today. Please help if you can.

I know I have a question. What if you do not have access to your alternative suggestions above? Are we supposed to rely on whatever scraps are available by SkyDrive or some such? You are taking one of the easiest to use programs - one that woked well - and as I see it, you have NOTHING to offer.

I might have to take a second look at increasing my Adobe 'repository' and stop adding to it. This is the second time a provider has pulled the plug on me and my projects. Though small some may be, it takes 10x the work to modify everything and find some place to house these. Nothing is forever, but my works seems so since I have to keep moving and setting up shop somewhere else! Just a bit frustrating.

Acrobat.com plugin for Outlook 2010

Hi, I installed the plugin for 2007 and works, but not always...
So I have some questions about it:

- Will there a 2010 version in the future, or is this product becoming end of live?
- Why can't it be downloaded from the acrobat.com directly? It rather hard to find a working link to download.

- With the current version (installed on Outlook 2010, in combination with Exchange server) I configured to use it with files greater then 5MB, if I attached a file that is smaller the plug-in still want to sign in (and doesn't sign in automatically: you have to press OK), this if annoying: can I fix this somehow?

- It's also not possible to send a small mail when there is a mail in progres in the 'Acrobat.com processBox', you have to wait when your big mail is uploaded. Maybe this is the same as above?

- Can we compare the Plug-in with the plug-in of Yousendit or is yousendit more reliable?

Any suggestions are welcome.

This following are my explanations:

Simple Explaination:

Print a PDF document that is included in the page as a hidden iframe.

Technical Explanation:

To print a PDF document that is not by default rendered on the page.

To try and achieve this, the PDF document was hidden in an iframe and javascript/jquery used to initiate the print process.

Our issue is that we can not find a reliable solution that will work across all browsers, and it is even unreliable within browser types.

Here is a code being used:

Unable to start print job. Is printer available?

I have Adobe Professional 8.2.3. I recently downloaded an "update" from the web (about 2 months ago) (for either the Professional or Reader program, I just pressed "download".)

Since that time, I cannot print a .pdf from the Adobe Acrobat Professional program. I have to save the document, and then print from the Adobe Reader. Of course, Reader 9 won't even open while another page is open in Professional, so I have to close all Professional pdf pages; open Reader, then I can print just fine.

The printer is an HP LaserJet M1319f MFP. I can scan just fine with Adobe Professional, and it will create pdf files - just no printing... The printer works fine in every other program (Firefox, Word, etc...)

So, is it just me? Or should I un-install Adobe Professional and re-install?

Filling out form without having to see message bar

Hello:

I am creating a form for the first time, and it is working well (in Acrobate 9.3.2). However, since I will distribute the form to people who are not computer/software savvy, I do not want the message bar visibel (it says "Please fill out the following form. When finished, click Submit form to return the completed form. You can save data typed into this form." + Highlight fields" and "Submit form").

For instance, this method does not work when I myself fill out my form in Acrobat Reader (no e-mail message is sent).

So, I want to tell people to fill out the form, save it, and then attach it to an e-mail message.

How can II hide the message bar?

Can't open, update, or uninstall Acrobat.com

I am running Windows 7 (64 bit) and am getting blue screens. Finally to the point that Windows 7 fails on boot-up and a message box stating something to the effect that Acrobat won't open is displayed just before the blue screen appears. I can start Windows 7 in the Safe Mode, which I did a number of times, and the limited items available in safe mode seem to work properly except for Acrobat_com. If you attemtp to start Acrobat_com by double clicking on the desktop icon, you get a large message box stating that a Mandatory Update is Available and the Application can't continue without installing the update. The following information is also provided in the message box: Application: Acrobat_com

Installed Version: 2.0.0.0

Updated Version: 2.1.0.0.

When you click on the Download Update button, the update download process starts and appears to complete but when the update is being installed it fails. A message telling you to try again is displayed. No number of retries will result in a successful update.

So, I decided to try to uninstall the current version and start fresh but the uninstall fails as well so I am stuck! Can't update, can't uninstall, and can't continue without the update.

What do I do to fix this problem?

Looking back thru some of the logs I see that Adobe Air and Adobe Acrobat_com have both failed to launch on startup on a number of occasions in the past with the problem becoming more frequent as time goes on. I suspect these files have been corrupted but I don't know how to fix the problem.

I am not sure what these applications actually do during normal system operation. I overtly use Adobe Reader and thus I know what it does but I don't overtly start or use Adobe Air or Adobe Acrobat_com so I have no idea when they are being used or for what purpose. Do I really need them on my machine at all? Not sure how or why they got installed.

I do have both a 32 bit and a 64 bit version of Internet Explorer installed on my PC (which is a Gateway GT-5670 w/ 4GB of RAM actually installed although it only shows 3 GB). Is there a Windows 7 issue of any kind with Adobe Air or Adobe Acrobat_com?

After using acrobat.com, my installation of Adobe Reader uninstalled itself! Gone from Add/Remove Programs and everything! It was working perfectly for a month until 2 days ago. Why is Adobe doing this? How do I re-download without it removing itself again? (Windows 7)
