No matching authentication protocol Oracle 12c

Hi, we are working with ColdFusion 10 and Oracle 12c Database, but when we are trying to connect with the database across CF, we have the following message:

java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][Oracle JDBC Driver][Oracle]ORA-28040: No matching authentication protocol

Does anybody know how can we work with Oracle 12c? Is necessary an update to fix that?

How To Connect CF9 to Oracle DB with Svs Name/No SID

Running CF9 64-bit on Win Server 2008 R2, and all my Oracle connections have SIDs. Just got a new Oracle DB that I need to connect to, but doesn't have a SID, it has a Service Name. Was unabl to connect using the default ORACLE connector in CF9.

Have read thru messages, but am still not clear on how to add an Oracle server with a Service Name and not a SID. Would appreciate any help/advice on the correct syntax for using OTHER, if this is the best (or only) way to add this type of Oracle DB connection.

I've successfully added OTHER connections for Teradata and IBM-DB2, but I knew that was the direction to go, and was able to obtain the info, syntax, etc. for creating these OTHER (JDBC) connections. Thank you.

cf8 cfquery multiple table join with same column names - defect

This appears to be a defect within CF8 cfquery object. I am at a loss as to a solution or a good work around. As for background, this query is generated dynamically on the fly based on what a user passes into it. It is not the most elegent SQL code but it does work and return all of the columns. The application itself is a database viewer for looking at logs. Below is an example of a query being generated.

select *

from web_trans,web_info_trans,web_res_trans

where (web_info_trans.trans_dte >= '2008-12-1'

and web_info_trans.trans_dte < '2008-12-2')

and (web_info_trans.trans_dte = web_trans.trans_dte)

and (web_info_trans.trans_num = 5060345)

and (web_info_trans.trans_num = web_trans.trans_num)

and (web_res_trans.trans_num = 5060345)

and (web_res_trans.trans_num = web_trans.trans_num)

and (web_trans.web_trans_cde = 'LLRN')

and (web_trans.web_status_cde = 'P')

and (web_trans.TRANS_NUM < 5060347 )

order by web_trans.TRANS_NUM desc

These three tables contain a similar column called ZIP_CDE. They each contain different values, and when this query is performed in Microsoft Query Analyzer the results are displayed correctly. Run this same SQL statement with CFQUERY and the value from one of the other tables (web_trans) ends up replacing the value for the other columns called ZIP_CDE. The correct amount of columns are retruned just the values some how get corrupted.

Is this a known defect in cf8 is there a work around or update that resolves this issue that I may have missed?

Hello,

I am looking to connect to the last sql server 2012 multi-subnet failover clustering which requires to mention the connection string MULTISUBNETFAILOVER=Yes.

Even though I have mention, its still failing to create the DSN, I am able to connect to it from SQL Server Management Studio. Does any able to connect it. do i need to install any JDBC drivers for this to success.

Here I am using ColdFusion 9 enterprise edition.

Access 2010 Tricks: Ghost Tables

I am working on upgrading a client from CF5 to CF10 as well as Access 2010 to SQL Server Express 2012.

I suspect they recently moved from Access 2000 to 2010 based on some message I came across. Don't know if that is germaine to this conversation or not, so I thought I'd throw that in.

In the new CF10 environment, I had a query fail. At first glance, it appeared that one table didn't come across in the conversion.

Checked my copy of the Access database backup -- that table is not there.

Tested the production (CF5 running Access) system and this program works.

Looked in the production Access database -- and the table is NOT there, either!

What is this magic? I see no stored procedures, and it's not a cursor (CF5 didn't have that capability).

Here's the query:

FROM validate_jobnumber

How is it possible to query an Access table that doesn't exist? Where should I look for this mythical creature?

How to connect Oracle 11g in CF9 using tnsnames

Hi, I'm using CF9 running on Solaris and I just had Oracle 11g installed using tnsnames. Can someone explain to me how to add the Oracle string in CF admin? I have confirmed that I can connect to the database but I don't think I have the correct syntax for connection string. I think it should be similar to the following: jdbc:datadirect:oracle:TNSNAMES_FILE=/d01/oracle/product/v.11.2.0.3_client/network/admin/ tnsnames.ora:@dbserver.com:1549:SIDname;driver=oracle.jdbc.Oracle

Does anyone have an idea?

I have a accdb designed with Access 2010 64bit.

I am running CF9 under Win2008 R2 64bit.

I have also installed http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=13255

I have now googled and tried some dozen tricks to get this combination work:

until now - no way!

Does anybody succeed to to so and is there somewhere a description?

Get last Uniqueidentifier inserted in SQL Server table

I am looking for code that will get me the last entered ID in a table. I am using SQL Server and have the ID's set as uniqueidentifiers. I tried SCOPE_IDENTITY() and had an issue. Also, want to make sure it is for that unique insert, not an insert that slipped in almost concurrently.

Access 2010 to SQL Express 2012

I'm upgrading a client from CF5 to CF10. They are using Access 2010 and I need to get it to SQL Server Express 2012 as part of the upgrade.

This should be simple enough, right?

I have access to SQL Server 200 / enterprise manager, SQL Express 2005 / 2008 / 2010 / 2012.
I have access to a couple flavors of Access.
I have access to a 32 bit Vista machine, a 64 bit Windows 7 machine, a 32 bit Windows Server, a 64 bit Windows server, and more that I won't bore you with.
Of course, I have CF5, CF6.1, CF7, CF8, CF9, CF10

Got all the tools I should need, right?

Tried to import Access from SQL 2012; errors due to data.
Tried to push (export) Access to SQL 2012; errors.
Tried using every version to push and pull the data, always a couple errors keep it from being clean.

Let's be honest, here. There are so many databases, tables and columns, the last thing I want to do is data-map each and every field in every table in every database. I'm a programmer, right? I can do this.

I installed the Access database engine and get my Access databases connected in CF per some obscure instructions I found for 64 bit CF. Wrote a program that would inspect each database, each table, each field and tell me what's missing and what won't fit.

All Access and SQL connections verify in the CF datasource. I'm good to go!

Program won't run. CF doesn't like the 32 bit Access driver. "[Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC Driver][ODBC Socket][Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]Optional feature not implemented", error code 106.

Okay, let's try the 64 bit version based on what my Google search about this found.

Huh. Installation failed because the client has some 32 bit MS Office programs loaded. Same with my local machine.

Oh, turns out I was trying to use CFDBINFO against the Access database. So, don't do that, but now my easy diagnoses of the databases, tables, and columns is out the window on the Access side.

Every which way I turn around, it seems something prevents me from importing, exporting, or connecting via DSN in order to write a program to handle the problem.

I seriously considered plunking down $300 for Spectral Core's Full Convert 6. Their trial worked for me, but buying programs goes against the grain when it's (normally) in my wheelhouse.

Found an article (http://www.coldfusionmuse.com/index.cfm/2005/8/26/access_metadata) that helped me mine Access the old fashioned way, once I learned how to exposed the MSysObjects table (Navigation Options) and allow them to be read (File, Users and Permissions, User and Group Permissions, select MSysObjects table and enable read).

Now to cycle through the tables and identify what's missing, set the new columns up and copy the data over.

I think I might be on my way, but this is still reeking of "the hard way to do it".

And my wife wonders why I suffer from indigestion.

How to reference MS Access database in ColdFusion MX 7 on 64-bit Windows

I am migrating customers from:
Windows 2000 Server (fully patched)
Internet Information Services (IIS) 5
ColdFusion 5
to:
Windows Server 2003 Standard x64 Edition (fully patched)
Internet Information Services (IIS) 6 (running in 32-bit mode)
ColdFusion MX 7 (7.0.2) Standard

Unfortunately, some of these existing customers are still using Microsoft Access databases instead of SQL Server. Having all of these existing customers migrate to SQL Server is not yet practical. On the old Windows 2000 / ColdFusion 5 server, they are using OLE DB data sources to reference the MS Access databases using the "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0" provider. None are configured to use ODBC drivers when referencing MS Access or SQL Server.

I have yet to figure out how to get ColdFusion MX 7 to:
- Create a data source that references MS Access databases on 64-bit Windows.
- Reference an existing MS Access data source created with the 32-bit version of the ODBC Data Source Manager on 64-bit Windows.

A bit of background information regarding MS Access on 64-bit Windows:
- At the time of this writing, Microsoft has not created/released 64-bit drivers for Microsoft Access and it's unlikely they ever will, for understandable reasons.
- Contrary to seemingly popular belief, the Microsoft Jet 4.0 Database Engine does exist on 64-bit Windows. See the following regarding version and file location information:

- You CAN create MS Access based data sources within 64-bit Windows, but they have to be made using the 32-bit version of "ODBC Data Source Manager". I'm assuming these DSNs may only be used by 32-bit applications, but I have not tested that theory.

The 64-bit version of "ODBC Data Source Manager" (under Administrative Tools) only show "SQL Server" and/or "SQL Native Client" as options when creating new data sources, unless third-party software is installed that supplies additional drivers.

The 32-bit version of "ODBC Data Source Manager" (by default, there is no shortcut for this in the Start menu) shows the typical drivers seen on 32-bit versions of Windows, including SQL Server, SQL Native Client, Microsoft Access, Excel, FoxPro, Paradox, etc.

When using ColdFusion Administrator in ColdFusion MX 7.0.2 in 64-bit Windows 2003 (IIS is running in 32-bit mode to allow ColdFusion MX 7 to function at all), two problems are encountered when dealing with MS Access (and presumably other 32-bit drivers). In both cases, ColdFusion is trying to reference the registry location for 64-bit data sources instead of 32-bit:

1. Creating a new data source within ColdFusion Administrator:
Data Source Name: whatever
Driver: Microsoft Access
CF Data Source Name: whatever
Database file: (physical path to whatever.mdb)
(other settings are irrelvant for this example)
Error generated when submitting:
Unable to update the NT registry.
Cannot open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\ODBC Data Sources: Windows error number 5 occurred.Access is denied.
ColdFusion stores the data source, however a "verify" generates the following error:
Connection verification failed for data source: whatever
java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC Driver][ODBC Socket]internal error: Data source name not found and no default driver specified
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC Driver][ODBC Socket]internal error: Data source name not found and no default driver specified

2. Creating the data source using the 32-bit version of "ODBC Data Source Manager" then trying to reference it with ColdFusion:

(creation is successful within ODBC Data Source Manager)

ColdFusion MX 7 can't find the 32-bit data source on 64-bit Windows because it's looking for it in the wrong registry location.

Can ColdFusion MX 7 be configured to look in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ODBC
instead of
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC
on a 64-bit Windows machine?

Combine First and Last Name as FullName

I'd like to write a statement that combines the First Name and Last Name
as FullName (with a space separating the two).

This doesn't work:

SELECT ContactID, LastName + ', ' + FirstName AS FullName

CF11 - SQL Type Not Supported By This Driver on basic ORM Update

We are testing out one of our web applications in CF11.

We have a basic ORM entity update function that fetches an object, individually calls several setters, and then saves the entity inside a transaction tag in cfscript. We are working with Microsoft SQL 2012 Standard edition. This worked under CF9 and CF10.

Under CF11, we get the following error:

Error: An exception occurred when committing the transaction. The root cause of this exception was: coldfusion.orm.hibernate.HibernateSessionException: [macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]The specified SQL type is not supported by this driver..

The line of code throwing the error is whatever the last line inside the transaction {} block is.

The SQL being run follows. This is super basic. What is going on here?

How do I change the column name in mySQL when it has a space in it?

I know I can use the following line to change the column name: alter table tablename change "First Name" (Parenthesis used for clarification only) FirstName varchar (10) ;

my problem is the column name has a space in it, ie: First Name . So mySQL thinks it is changing "First" to "Name" then it hits the name I want it changed to and goes berserk. How can I change this? I can't even delete it. It happened when I imported Microsft SQL into mySQL database.

How do I tell if a mysql update was successful?

I need to know if an update was run or if the record was not found.... is there some way that coldfusion can use that traps success/fail resoponses from mysql [linda like myquery.RecordCount ]?

basically I am trying to update a row, if no row was updated - the record must not exist so I then need to do an insert...

-any ideas?

This should be easy.... But i keep getting the error:

And I got it worked out to where i know it is a problem with the way i am using the date data types in a stored procedure....

In the past i usually avoided calling procedures in Oracle with date as the in type.... It is always easiest to let oracle convert the string to a date.... Unfortunately now i am stuck with having a date type in the procedure call.... So the question is:

WHAT IS THE PROPER WAY TO SUBMIT DATE/TIME STAMP IN A STORED PROCEDURE?

Database access using windows authentication

We are updating our Applications to use single sign on and are running into a problem with database access. We are using CF11 Enterprise and SQL Server 2008 on IIS 7.5.

We have set up the ColdFusion Application Service to run under an AD service account and have created the data sources in CFAdmin leaving the username and password blank. The data sources verify and all seems good. The problem comes when running a query. The credential passed to the database is the service account and not the windows authenticated user. As such the query fails. What are we missing to get CF to pass the Windows Authenticated user credential instead of the service account?

Specific instances not connecting to DSNs

Very odd issue that has just started with our CF10 environment with 2 of our dev boxes.....I have a box for example that has been configured with 2 instances....dev-app and dev-admin. Randomly both instances will have issues talking to our DSN's , the main coldfusion admin http://localhost/CFIDE/administrator communicates no problem with the same set of DSN's. I have 2 boxes out of 15 acting like this....they are all setup exactly the same in terms of virtulization, firewall, etc

Specific error I receive is

Connection verification failed for data source: cc_core
java.sql.SQLException: Timed out trying to establish connection
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: Timed out trying to establish connection

I am at a loss why these boxes are suddenly popping up with these DSN timeouts....I have even rebuilt one of the boxes as far as CF goes but still same issue.....it might work again but I can't have it soo flaky.

I have a form that captures date and time in 2 separate fields data and time.

I need to combine these fileds and UPDATE a SQL database (datetime field)

The date field is passed like this DSDATE={ts '2013-11-18 00:00:00'}

The time field is passed like this TIME_IN1=14:05

How do I concatenate DSDATE AND TIME_IN1 so that I can insert like this 2013-11-18 14:05:00.000 ?

[Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]Could not find prepared statement with handle 1.

I'm getting this error message in what appear to be random ways. The first time I look at a page I might not get it, but the second time I might. I discovered that removing a cfqueryparam tag worked, but that is not really a safe solution. I checked that the cf_sql_type matched the database field, and in one case changed a cf_sql_varchar to a cf_sql_char so it would match a SQL Server nchar(10) field. But still these errors. Any ideas? I've not had any luck Googling this.

I should add that I'm running Coldfusion 9 as a Tomcat webapp on a Linux server. The database is SQL Server 2005, I think.

Does Coldfusion 10 work with Sqlite?

Because CF10 uses Tomcat vs jrun, I'm not having any success inserting the latest jdbc driver in the /lib directory in a way that works with my sqlite datasources. It worked fine in CF9.

I'm not really interested in all of the overhead of setting up mySQL as my database app is of very limited use.

Hello,

Iv'e got a question about the default Apache Derby Embedded datasources that come with a new installation of ColdFusion. I want to use one of them (like cfartgallery), for some demo code, but I'm not familiar with the structure of the database so I don't know how to write the queries. Is there any way to "browse" the database to see it's structure? I tried using <cfquery> with a show tables query, but it threw an error. I guess you can only use it for SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, etc.

What am I doing wrong? Is there a tool to visually inspect the database, or a method to do that via ColdFusion that I'm missing?

Hi everyone,

I have a CF9 ORM problem that I haven't been able to figure out and thought I'd see if you had any idea. I have seen a few postings talking about a "similar" problem but none of them correctly resolved this particular issue. I appreciate any help you can offer.

I recently created a CF9 app where I generated scripted ORM CFCs for my app using ColdFusion Builder. It worked great and my app was completely working. However, when I was adding some enhancements, I ran into an error when I restarted the CF app server. Here's the message I keep getting:

"Id field not defined for cfc Path.to.my.ORMCfCPage. Either the table should have a PK column mapped to a cfc field OR at least one field should be specified as id."

My App.cfc file only had orm enabled (no other mappings) when it was working. I've since tried specifying things like the cfc location etc. and it still hasn't helped.

// MORE DETAILS:

- When my app was working, I had moved it to 2 other servers. I had this error on both of those but not on my local copy. They all use the exact same database.

- The last change I made before the error was adding a generator="identity" field to my generated ORM beans. Once I got the message, I tried changing it back and restarting again but still got the error.

- I've also made sure all of the Adobe tags are in my web root (as suggested in a prior posting about this problem). I've search all over for a solution and nobody has a solution posted online that works so far.

Do you have any idea why this is happening?

Can't create datasource to SQL Server

I'm running ColdFusion 9 Trial Version (no hotfixes), SQL Express 2005, Windows XP SP3, IIS.

Using ColdFusion Administrator, when I try to create a datasource to SQLExpress 2005 (SQL Server Express), using the SQL Server driver, I get the following error:

Connection verification failed for data source: AMT
java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]The requested instance is either invalid or not running.
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]The requested instance is either invalid or not running.

The "instance", which I take to mean the database instance, is "machinename\SQLExpress" (This is a so-called "named instance".) This is what I enter into the "Server" field of the form (Data & Services -> Datasources -> Microsoft SQL Server).

On the other hand, I am able to create an ODBC datasource name in Windows using the Microsoft SQL Server Native Client Version 09.00.3042 driver and using the same instance, "machinename\SQLExpress".

Does anybody have any ideas as to what's wrong?

Hi - I have a form that a user submits feedback on a product and it sends an email to three people.

How to administer an Access database via web-based interface?

There are times when I need to edit a database record to do something my CMS wasn't designed to do, so I have to manually edit it. Normally I just ftp the Access mdb file to my pc, make edits, and reupload the mdb file and hope nobody updated the database in the meantime. Does anyone know of a web-based database admin system that will allow me to edit Access data? Sure would be nice if I could install something on the server that would allow me to edit any datasource there and not have to have a separate, customized interface for each datasource.

Hello,

I am trying to get started in learning CF but I can't seem to get past the starting gate. The problem is in connecting to the Firebird DB.

I followed the instructions from many blogs and forums (including this one which is most helpful: http://pabloj.blogspot.com/2008/07/setting-up-coldfusion-and-firebird.html). I downloaded the Jaybird 2.1.6 driver from the www.firebirdsql.org site and placed jaybird-full-2.1.6.jar in c:\coldfusion8\lib folder. I also tried putting it in the c:\coldfusion\runtime\lib, c:\coldfusion\wwwroot\WEB-INF\lib -- all to no avail.

The error I'm getting (from the exception.log file) is:

I've started working with indexed views in my Microsoft SQL Server 2005 database. Whenever a SQL statement alters a field ( INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE ) used by the index on an indexed view certain connection settings must be set.

SET ANSI_NULLS ON
SET ANSI_PADDING ON
SET ANSI_WARNINGS ON
SET CONCAT_NULL_YIELDS_NULL ON
SET NUMERIC_ROUNDABORT OFF
SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
SET ARITHABORT ON

When ColdFusion connects to SQL server the ARIHABORT setting is OFF causing SQL statements to fail.

I currently have two workarounds for this:

1. Use a stored procedure created with the required settings.

2. Run a cfquery containing the required settings before the UPDATE, INSERT, or DELETE cfquery statement.

Questions:

1. Is it possible to configure ColdFusion's connection to set ARITHABORT ON by default?

2. Does Microsoft's JDBC driver use this setting by default?

My environment:
Microsoft SQL Server 2005
ColdFusion 7.0.2
Windows 2003
Using the SQL Server drivers bundled with CF7

I currently use a temporary table to add a blank row to the top/beginning of my query results. I'm moving to MS SQL stored procedures and wanted to know if it's possible to add a blank row right into my SQL so I can eliminate the temporary table solution.

I have an ID (primary key) set as a BIGINT in SQL SERVER. I have a query with the following:

WHERE whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_integer" value="#URL.id#">

I then got an invalid data type for it. I then tried:

WHERE whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_bigint" value="#URL.id#">

I still got an invalid data type for it. i then tried:

WHERE whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_int" value="#URL.id#">

and it worked.

The weird thing is cf_sql_int is not even listed as being accepted:

I do a lot of things like like:

Then

But I can't use the cfqueryparam tag in the cfset tag. It busts. I can't do :

What's a good work around for me. I want to prevent sql injection attacks, but I create my sql as variables outside the cfquery tag.

Greek Characters displayed as ??????

Hi, I have a website hosted by a provider which provides web hosting, coldfusion and mySQL.
My .cfm pages are in Greek letters and I use a mySQL database with Greek letters inside the fields.
Before I posted this site I developed it locally using local coldfusion and mySQL servers and the .cfm page displayed correctly (in Greek) the static text and the dynamic text which was taken from the greek mySQL database.
After I posted it I see correct Greek static text but ?????? for the dynamic text that is taken from my database.
Of course I can't change the system variables on mySQL server on my Host provider for the reason that it is a shared one.
Going through cf documentation I discuvered ways to manipulate the connection with the database dictating the character set to use for the transactions. All my efforts came to the same ?????? for dynamic text.
I want to add that my database is in utf8 and the tables inside it.
Is there any code I have to include in my .cfm page so I can have the dynamic Greek text displayed correctly?

I would really appreciate any useful answers.

The problem is that ColdFusion is cuting the string at 4000 bytes. I have tested the procedure in SQLPLUS and the stored procedure works ok and can return (OUT parameter) strings of more than 4000 bytes.

This procedure was working fine with version 4.5 where I had the maxlength parameter specified in the CFPROCPARAM type="Out" parameter.

Any help in fixing this will be highly appreciated.

Has anyone else encountered this error?

I'm on Windows 2003 and XP, Tomcat 6.0.14 and using JNDI Datasources.
I'm going from CF 8.0 Enterprise hot fix 2 to CF 8.0 Enterprise
hot fix 3. And I'm connecting to Oracle 10.2 RAC.

The full error message reads as follows:
Error casting an object of type org.apache.tomcat.dbcp.dbcp.PoolingDataSource$PoolGuardConnectionWrapper cannot be cast to coldfusion.server.j2ee.sql.JRunConnectionHandle to an incompatible type. This usually indicates a programming error in Java, although it could also mean you have tried to use a foreign object in a different way than it was designed. org.apache.tomcat.dbcp.dbcp.PoolingDataSource$PoolGuardConnectionWrapper cannot be cast to coldfusion.server.j2ee.sql.JRunConnectionHandle

Everything was working fine until I applied cumulative hot fix 3.

If I un-install the update, I don't get the error.

It seems the issue is related to cumulative hot fix 3 AND the use
of the <cfqueryparam ... /> tag.

Meaning, this works...
<cfquery name="qData" datasource="ds">
SELECT * FROM some_table
WHERE some_column = 'some_value'
</cfquery>

But this does not work...
<cfquery name="qData" datasource="ds">
SELECT * FROM some_table
WHERE some_column = <cfqueryparam value="some_value" cfsqltype="cf_sql_varchar" />
</cfquery>

If you have any thoughts, please let me know. I am really motivated
to get this working.

Intermittent MS SQL 2005 Connection Dropping

Recently I have been having errors with my SQL SERVER 2005 datasource dropping connection.

Here's a history of the issue:

About 3 weeks ago my queries began slowing to a crawl and timing out. After some research the hosting company had my database on an overloaded server and have since moved me to a new SQL Server. The queries now complete quickly however I am receiving intermittent errors with the SQL Server Connection Dropping. (Although I was having this issue on the previous server, but not as often as the query timeout error)

The queries and use working 99% of the time, I just receive these errors intermittently.

Here are two errors I received this morning:

"Date/Time: {ts '2008-06-10 11:09:56'}
Diagnostic: Error Executing Database Query. Timed out trying to establish connection <br>The error occurred on line 9."

"Date/Time: {ts '2008-06-10 11:10:48'}
Diagnostic: The request has exceeded the allowable time limit Tag: CFSTOREDPROC <br>The error occurred on line 9."

I don't know why these errors would be popping up all of the sudden because the stored procedure at line 9 hasn't changed for over 6 months and the error is recently appearing. The error also occurs during other random queries as well. Its not always the query at line 9.

Here is some other potential useful pieces of info:

JDBC URL: jdbc:fusionreactor:wrapper:{jdbc:macromedia:sqlserver://server-info:1433;databaseName=dat asource;SelectMeth od=direct;sendStringParametersAsUnicode=false;MaxPooledStatements=1000};name=sourcename

Timeout (Min): 20
Interval: 7
Login Timeout: 30

I hope this is clear enough. Any ideas or previous experience with this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm running Coldfusion 8 and Oracle XE 10, both on IIS 7. Every so often, I get this message:

[Macromedia][Oracle JDBC Driver][Oracle]ORA-12519 The listener could not find any available service handlers that are appropriate for the client connection. One possible cause for this error is that the server was not configured for the specified server type (shared/dedicated).

I can restart the OracleServiceXE service and it works fine. However, I have no clue what is causing this. I believe it all began once I started using CFSCRIPTS and running queries using that instead of CFML. Would anyone know what COULD cause this error to happen and what I should look out for? I am new to Oracle and CF btw.

Also, I can access it fine through the oracle homepage, but when I attempt to connect to it from the coldfusion administrator, it cannot establish a connection to that data source. It is only after I restart the service that things go back to normal. Thanks.

JDBC connection error

I'm trying to create a DSN in ColdFusion Standard v11 server using Sybase jConnect 6.05 JDBC driver connecting to a Sybase SQL AnyWhere 12 Server (running on another server machine). ColdFusion has been installed on a brand new Windows 2012 (Standard) Server and uses IIS 8 for the web server.

I have done everything mentioned on this page (of course, the driver class and other details have been modified) ColdFusion MX: Configuring the Sybase jConnect 5.5 driver

When I try to verify the connection in CF Administrator, it throws the following error:

Connection verification failed for data source: ars_jdbc

java.sql.SQLException: The method com.sybase.jdbc3.jdbc.SybDatabaseMetaData.getJDBCMajorVersion() has not been completed and should not be called.

I know that, all the connection parameters are correct because I have been able to create a DSN on another CF instance (CF 9) to the same database that I am trying to create a DSN for from CF 11. Please guide me in the right direction to fix the problem.

I am having problems setting up a datasource for a local sql express 2012 server. Its running as the default instance. Connections are working with ODBC and client told just not Coldfusion.

When I try to set up a connection using the sql driver I get this error:

I can't make JDBC connection work with CF10 and MS SQL 2008 Express Edition. CF MS SQL Server driver works fine. I use this string to connect

jdbc:sqlserver://127.0.0.1/MyInstance:12345;databaseName=database-name, but getting error that server is not available. I tried MS JDBC driver v3 and v4, but with the same result.

May be to use MS SQL Server driver is fine, but I had some issues with it on CF8 and CF9, like it told that query was not exists. So, I had to use JDBC driver. May be it is fixed in CF10. We will see soon, if I do not solve problem above.

I'm using Coldfusion 9 (with latest patch) developer edition, on Windows 2008 server 32bit. I had Office 2010 installed and created a database using Access (had an .accdb extension). When I try to use the CF administrator to create a datasource, I receive this error message:

I hope some help is out there. I will post the error message at the end of this post. I can't verify a datasource in Administrator. this is the error:

My configuration:

Coldfusion Enterprise 9.0.1 32 bit on Windows Server 2008 Web Edition 64 bit, 4Gb Ram, 2 Xeon processors

The sites using Microsoft Access Database, randomlly, go in timeout. This is due to the fact that "ODBC Server" lock the database (in the db folder there are the .ldb file). If I restart the "ODBC Server" service, the database is released and the site works. Do you have any idea how to resolve this issue?
