I just upgraded to RoboHelp 8 for Word (Office 2007, XP Pro) and continue to have this problem after compiling a project (Microsoft HTML) and clicking on view. One suggestion was to change the path closer to the root directory. I changed the output path the C:\ (can't get any closer than that!) and that didn't help. I searched the forum for a definitive fix but haven't found one yet. The file opens fine using explorer but it's obviously a pain-in-the-butt to have to always do that. Thanks.

Hello
I generate HTML Help Files using RH for Word (X5.02) and am
using Word 2000.
I have searched this forum for this but must not have typed
the correct keywords as I did not find anything and somehow I have
the feeling this is a trivial issue. I have hyperlinks in my source
Word documents. These hyperlinks display an Excel spreadsheet or a
Word document when clicked on. I do not wish to import these
documents into RH as they are work instructions that are
version-controlled.

When I compile my Help File and try clicking on the
hyperlinks, nothing happens. They appear as hyperlinks but they do
not display anything when clicked on (little hand showing a link
does not appear, only the normal cursor).

As I have only used jumps, popups to link to other topics
within my Help FIle and hyperlinks to link to external HTML files
or e-mail addresses, I would like to know how to go about having
hotspots linking to an XLS or a DOC file (I can PDF these target
files) if using RH for RoboHelp?

Thanks in advance for any input.

For some reason, my RH files have unlinked some of the map
IDs and their topics. The map IDs appear in the unused map ID
folder, or sometimes in the actual map ID folders, but the topics
appear without a map ID within their properties. Some of the topics
are ones that I changed the name or topic string (these I changed
by going into properties and changing them--I accepted the "update
all" option at the prompt about linking the topic to the previous
string, etc). I'd love to know why this is happening to prevent it
in the future. Also, is there an easy way to repair this? I've just
been deleting the map ID from the map ID folder, then re-typing it
in within the topics view in RH.

We made a copy of the RH5 project as a backup and then proceeded to import the RH5 Project into RH8. When the project completed loading we recieved the following message: The version of Word you have installed is not supported. Please install an earilier version of Word before running Robohelp for Word. Clicking okay on the message leaves us in RH8 with the project open, however we cannot open any files in Word 2010 and get the same message when trying to do so.

Prior to upgrading we did not experience this issue. Robohelp was installed after Office 2010. We cannot open any files with Robohelp for Word in Word 2010.

We searched for and upgraded Robohelp for Word to version 8.0.203. The software is stating there are no further updates.

Any help will be appreciated.
