How to get new files from TFS to local project?

I have RH10 connecting to Team Foundation Server for source control. Unless I'm mistaken, I'm beginning to see and regret that the Get Latest Version dialogue in RH only applies to files that were in the project when first loaded to my PC. If the owner of a project adds files and saves them to TFS, how do I then get those files added to my local copy when I open the project myself? I don't even see a manual way to do this in RH, but ideally I want an automatic solution.

So how do I:

Set up TFS/RoboHelp to get all new files whenever a project is opened?

Manually grab all new files within RH if that fails?

The point is, I understand I can do this in Source Control Explorer but does RH have an equivalent?

Thank you.

Removing project from source control

We have a project that is source controlled in RoboSource
3.1. There are currently three writers on the project and we each
have a version of the project on our hard drives from which we are
working. We are having a hard time keeping our projects synced
between our hard drives and RoboSource. My question is this: If I
go into RoboHelp and select remove project from source control,
does it only remove the temporary project on my hard drive, will it
remove the main project in RoboSource, and/or will it remove
everyone else's project from source control.

Thanks.

RoboHelp 10 - SVN Issue

Hi there,

We are having an issue with RoboHelp 10 and SVN (Subversion 1.7.5).

Say, for example, I add three new topics to an online help project, close the project and commit the changes. My colleague performs an SVN update - she can see that the new files are brought down from the server. The new files are then visible in the physical RoboHelp project folder - so SVN has done its job. However, when she opens the online help project on her machine, the three new files are appearing with the red 'X' in the table of contents - suggesting RoboHelp cannot find the files (as per the image below). The files are also not displayed in the project manager pod. However, if we perform a manual import in the project manager, the files are added to the project manager and no longer displayed with the red 'X' in the table of contents.

This has only happened since we upgraded to RH 10 from RH 9. Could it be that there is some setting that we need to configure?

Implementing source control - Questions

I contacted Adobe, but they were unable to answer any of my questions. They couldn't even verify the system requirements for a RoboSource Control server. I have found some information online, but it hasn't answered all my questions.

I’m currently using RoboHelp HTML X5 and plan to upgrade to RoboHelp 8. I am considering implementing source control (using RoboSource Control) to allow for a central storage location, effective backup, version control, and the ability for more than one author to have access to the source files.

The help file is rather large (4,500+ htm files plus image files) and it is updated (WebHelp output generated) at least two times a day. From what I have been able to gather from research, all the source files would need to be checked out to the local computer prior to the output being generated, and then checked back in afterwards to allow other authors access to the files. Is this correct? Is there any way to predict how much additional time this process would add to the overall process of generating the WebHelp (I plan to test, just trying to get a general idea for planning purposes)?

For placing the source files on a remote server, I collected these min. system requirements for the server:

Intel Pentium 4 processor (or equivalent)

Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows XP, or Windows 2000

256MB of RAM

800MB of hard-disk space

Microsoft SQL Server/MSDE 2005

Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0

MSXML 6.0 *

Is the hard disk space requirement per database?
RoboHelp6 and Version Control on TFS and files to exclude

Hello members of the RoboSource Control Community. I asked this question over on the RoboHelp side and receive no answers so I am thinking that it is off topic over there and decided to ask here in hopes of getting some help. My team is using RoboHelp6 and Version Control on TFS (Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Team Explorer and Source Control Explorer). We keep running into problems where changes, especially creating or deleting a folder cause the project to become corrupted and we have to drop back to a prior version to correct. We also can not do the generate primary layout under version control as it crashes RoboHelp. I have been checking these forums and so far I have discovered that since I loaded several files that should have been excluded they may be part of my problem. The files I loaded and should have excluded are (projectname.cpd, projectname.pss, projectname.hhp). So my question is this: If I reload the TFS with the project and exclude these files (projectname.cpd, projectname.pss, projectname.hhp) will we be able to do the generate the primary layout under version control or this not permitted under version control. Another question to ask; before I reload the project is what other files should be excluded when loading? The list have so far is: projectname.cpd projectname.pss projectname.hhp projectname.trl ehlpdhtm.js

Thanks, Bob (No relation to John)
