Hello,

We have been using ACS for a few years now without a problem, but recently we have been hearing from customers who are unable to download and get licenses for our DRM content. All of these customers have upgraded to ADE 2.0 and are using WINDOWS. We tested this on various computers, made sure firewall settings weren't blocking any access, etc, etc ... and it appears our fulfillment tokens are no longer working with ADE 2.0 on Windows (we tested this using a the Mac version of ADE 2.0 and everything still works).

Has anyone run into this issue? The error customers are all seeing is in the above image (E_STREAM_ERROR) and this error occurs when they open our .acsm fulfillment token.

We have not made any changes on our backend, the only change is customers using ADE 2.0.

Hello,

I use a Tolino Shine and can download E-Books via WLAN directly to it. I can also download the books to my netbook. However, when I plug the Tolino into my netbook it is not visible in the Adobe library and I cannot move books from the library to the Tolino.

I tried to reset the Tolino to the manufacturer settings. This did not improve the situation.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

According to this article on Adobe website (http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-editions/kb/e-lic-already-fulfilled.html). If a user received this error "E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER" he can ask the ebook provider to have his activation "RESET".

User think if they fulfill an ebook with and unauthorized adobe id, they can reset the license et redownload with the new adobe id wich is not possible!

Can someone explain to me what is that RESET and what this article talk about!

I'm working on my very first fulfillment on our relatively new ACS (4.1.2) installation (on Ubuntu Linux). I inherited it from the person who actually did the setup. I worked my way through the various problems with calculating the "auth", and I think that's okay now. Here's the next hurdle:

Can anyone spot anything odd or missing in this? The license token seems rather sparsely populated. The dc:identifier is a string that I don't recognize - it doesn't match any item in our database. The operator URL is missing the port ":8080", even though that appears in the /etc/fulfullment.conf. That's all I can spot and I don't have the experience to know if they're problems.

Any help appreciated!

I see on your website that a there are a lot of customers who are unhappy for the same reasons........the adobe flash player is blocking my videos, the newest version fails to work when downloaded and installed......and there's no way to contact adobe to address the issue. I have had several people in India reading me scripts this morning that say how sorry they are but tell me they know nothing about the products adobe sells......I have followed all instructions I can find for troubleshooting downloading/installing on the adobe website.......and even am now trying this option although I am unable to provide the information anyone would need to help me........but you give no contact information at all that is not web-based. I am a senior citizen with NO computer knowledge(I use it only for email and reading the news), don't belong to any social media sites and have no clue what most of these words mean or where to look for the information.........

I need to TALK to someone. If there's nobody at this Company who can tell me how to get this Flash Player to work, is there anybody who can tell me how to get this worthless product out of my computer? My only remaining option for help is to drive 2 hours to the closest computer store.......where I'm sure somebody can "fix" what will cost me a day's travel time out of my week in a matter of seconds.

A company that produces a product that doesn't work/is difficult to work and then doesn't support it or provide information/help to customers forced to use it should not be in business.

Your employees are trained NOT to give out a mailing address or phone number for the corporate office.........what are you afraid of? Backing your product? Facing your customers?

Adobe Digital Editions 3.xx installs & runs on Chrome browser ver 38.xx on Windows XP sp 3. Many attempts to install ADE 4.0 on the same system fail repeatedly and generate an error report for dispatch to Adobe. Time consuming searching on Adobe for possible explanation/solution produces nothing (tech specs; release notes; install problems; etc). Initially it seemed that the ADE ver 4 didn't run on Windows XP but Adobe has a guide for download and installation on that OS.

Closest to a possible hint of why it doesn't work is, that ADE 4 must run on IE 10 or higher. I don't have IE, period. Another hint of a problem relates to the information which may be viewed during and following installation of ADE; something appears to be placed in an IE sub-directory and I suspect it should initiate an interaction between IE and ADE at launch of the latter.

What gives? What's the solution (besides getting >IE 10 which probably doesn't run on Win XP)?

Stick with ADE 3.x? And do what when seeking ebooks which need ADE 4, straight out of the Adobe sample library?

Rolling your own transactional report to replace operatorClient.jar

I've recently been told by our ACS vendor that since we have now switched to their certificates (and not using Adobe's certs), we can no longer use the operatorClient.jar to generate transaction reports.

Therefore, I have to roll my own transaction reports from the adept database. I'm looking for an overview of the adept database.

Specifically, when a book is fulfilled, what tables get entries?

When a book is re-downloaded, what data is updated?

BTW, I have the adept schema in my Mysql Workbench EER diagram viewer.

I just bought an ebook from ebooks.com. I had to download the ereader. I'm having a issue with my fulfillment token using gblink. When a user click on a gblink the .acsm file doesn't have any src and downloadtype value in the file.

ADE is able to download de file correctly, but in Bluefirereader, i'm having an error trying to download the ebook for the first time.

When i'm checking that ressource in Content Server those value show up correctly.

Any idea?

Any ideas what might be causing this? It only occurs in 1-2% of epubs, the rest are packaged fine on the same server.

Has anyone had issues with this error:

I get it when I try to open the .acsm file in digital editions. We are having issues tracking down what is causing this.
